Surprised no one posted this (or if you did, I didn't find it).

Craftsman 8-Drawer 40-Inch Black Premium Heavy Duty Top Chest - Black
$259.88 Hot Buy

Craftsman 52-Inch 8-Drawer Premium Heavy-Duty Top Chest - Black
$319.99 Hot Buy

Craftsman 52-Inch 12-Drawer Premium Heavy-Duty Rolling Cabinet- Black
$459.99 Hot Buy

I've never seen the 52" bottom chest this low (2 top chests are on par with the lowest I've seen them on sale). That would put the 52" top/bottom combo at $779.98. That's an amazing price for that combo.

Folks have said these boxes are made by Waterloo or SPG International. Does anyone know for sure? I actually have the 52" combo (thinking of a 2nd for the shop at this price). A few years ago, folks were saying these are made in U.S.A., which influenced my purchasing decision, but the combo I received was made in Mexico (in 2014). Still better than chinese as far as I'm concerned though.

(p.s. I didn't post the 40" bottom chest because it's the same price at the 52", but just in case it's here: Craftsman 40-Inch 11-Drawer Premium Heavy-Duty Rolling Cabinet - Black $439.88 Hot Buy)

The deals used to be so crazy-awesome that it made me forgive all the website problems, promotion errors, shipping issues, and poor customer service. After they got a lot more strict with the rewards program, it's much harder to be forgiving. Still, a much better loyalty program than offered by most other places.

Those days were nice. Now that Sears has tightened the leash on points/discount stacking and I got burnt on a return that involved points, I find myself shopping there way less often. It might also equate to the fact that I used to get sooooo much stuff nearly free!

Someone posted a 20% off code (tech student code?) in this thread a while back, but now I can't find it. I've tried searching the thread as well as browsing through but am still missing it. Any help?

$119 then $69.50 back in SYW Points Gladiator Ready-To-Assemble 28 in. H x 28 in. W x 12 in. D Steel Garage Wall Cabinet in Hammered Granite
http://m.sears.com/gladiator-ez-rta...400010000100545&aff=Y&PID=552179&AID=11042411

Looks like the panels have nice points offers too:

Gladiator 4' x 6" GearTrack
$12.35
$6.17 in points
http://www.sears.com/gladiator-gear...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=6&blockNo=6&blockType=G6

Gladiator 4' x 12" GearWall (2-pack)
$57.74
$48.87 in points

Both of these items also allow the use of surprise points. After a $10 off $50 coupon, that effectively makes the GearWall a BOGO deal. Is that a good deal for this stuff?

They get pretty damn horrible reviews. Typical made in China imported garbage holding the old Craftsman name. I would avoid like the black plague unless you can find old USA SK stock in store. Sears wont exist much longer either, so a lifetime warranty is worthless.

Same with most of the posts on this thread... so, should we just close the thread?

After reading your post a few days ago, I quickly ordered the 52" chest for my new garage setup. Just checked today, and the price went up to $650. Thanks for the heads up!!

Hey awesome! I almost pulled the trigger on it last night and now wish I did. Make sure to check it out in the store for dents/dings when you pick it up as they are hard on big items like this when moving them around. It's takes some guys a try or two to get one in a condition they're happy with. I'm also curious if yours will be made in Mexico. Does anyone know who's making these boxes down there? I'll post some pics of the shop once we have it a little better organized.

On a related note: is there a thread that tries to comprehensively list the current Craftsman items that are still made in the USA (or at least not China)? I think it would be very useful, and the members here definitely have the combined knowledge.

I am often trying to spend points or surprise points only to have them expire because I have no interest in accumulating Chinese junk, and I don't know what Craftsman items are still worth buying. I think there are still a fair number: levels made by Johnson (USA), clamps made by Wolfcraft (Slovakia), pry bars, etc.

I checked the reviews are pretty good. Made in USA doesn't mean too much in these days. Seems I don't have many Made in USA stuffs around.

Sears doesn't count the helpful votes as actual reviews like Amazon. So even though 8/10 people have five star reviews, that 2/10 one star reviews might have 100 people agreeing with them that puts it far above other reviews.

Those wrenches have one person agreeing with the five star review and 30 agreeing with the one star review. It's all an organized scam to get you to buy their garbage based off of sketchy practices.

I have no experience with these particular sockets, but do note that they are at the low end of the range of sizes for 1" drive.

Just a heads up, my Sears, Woodbridge, NJ, had those 12" clamps everyone seems to love for $6.96. The ones made in Slovakia.

Recent made in U.S.A. craftsman impact sockets were made by Armstrong. The factory where they were made has been closed. You really can't go wrong with those for an industrial use 1" drive impact (if you find them at a decent price). At sizes this large, I don't notice much difference in performance between USA-made industrial brands and quality Taiwan sockets like Sunex or Grey Pneumatic. But, the resell value of USA-made is higher, those brands are generally easier to warranty, and if you can get them for around the same price as an import, even better!

Here's the Armstrong equivalent with current Amazon price:
22-032D - $32.81
22-034 - $32.81
22-036D - $24.48
22-040D - $36.15
22-042 - $26.93
22-044 - $29.07
22-046 - $27.39
22-048 - $33.33

Total cost to piece together from Amazon today: $242.97

Note you can find these cheaper elsewhere occasionally, but either way I'd say you made out fine.

Thanks for the input Sean, I'm an HVAC technician by trade so I really have no use for these guys. The USA CoO should guarantee a pretty nice flip for me on this one. Thanks for the help again guys I gathered the horde of tools that I've been scooping from the Sears stores the past couple weeks and I must say it's pretty dang impressive.

One last thing, I came across 216 piece three quarter inch Drive socket sets with ratchets Craftsman obv, that were USA made. I found them at a Hometown Store but I believe the price was still very close to $250. Is a USA set worth the investment?

When sears.com still had the 1" drive sets there were a few people selling them on ebay, but there was not much money to be had. I would recommend selling them buy-it-now and just waiting for the right person, I sense it will take awhile though, as 1" drive is just not a common sale.

Are you sure that was a 216 pc 3/4" drive? or did you mean 3/8" drive. If 3/4" drive i am not sure they made that many pieces, but that is a no-brainer as there would have to be some large/expensive sockets in there. If it is 3/8" drive... it might be worth it, but for standard raised panel ratchets, probably not worth it.

Today, I stopped into my local Sears store to pick up a florescent work light. These are normally priced at $49.99, for in store purchase and the web site has them "Sold Out" for $39.99. The price shown on the store shelf indicated $20.00 so I grabbed a couple, figuring one could serve as a Christmas gift at the annual car club party. When I got to the register, much to my pleasant surprise, they rang up at $13.49 each. I promptly purchased several more, leaving a couple for the counter guy to grab as well. It was pure luck that I happened to be close by and stopped in to pick one of these lights up.

I can't say if it's offered for the same priceeverywhere, but it's certainly worth checking into, at that number.

$249 is regular price, Don't buy them, watch for sales they've been as low as 159.00 in previous months, sign up for craftsman tech student and get 50% off that set bringing it to 124.99 , I've done it once.

I go to 4 Sears stores near me almost every weekend. This whole year has been pretty dismal as far as sale items. The last two weeks things have been looking up. Last week the Lisle hood prop was marked down to $17, regularly $30. This weekend it was marked down again to $13 so I picked one up. All the other Lisle stuff (torx and hex sockets) were marked down as well but from what I've heard on here they are as soft as butter so I didn't pick up any of those. Also the 16" adjustable pry bar was marked down less than half to $19.**. Of course the website says nothing about this and even states on some of them they don't have any in stock. Even though people may not like going to the store it really is the only way to make sure you're getting the best deal.
