In the beginning of the month when they originally went for sale $49 and $50 respectively, used $15 off on each to bring total to $70

The price remains the same, but the availability is limited

What?:eyecrazy: Why are they still empty??? Please tell me you're going to remove the "made in usa with global ****" sticker.

I'll remove the sticker once I'ma able to figure out where everything should go, the floor is a mess, I'm using the Wooden Drawers to store accessories now.

Still need to cut out the liners. I'm using the bottom Waterloo cabinet to store cordless tools and such. A few extra socket sets are being stored in there as well. Trying not to over-saturate each drawer.

Yes. Added it as a topper to my basement box circa 1998.

Build quality seems consistent with the one from '98. Finish is perfect.

Drawer color is black; not the dark grey of the '98.

The display model in the store had drawer liners but they don't come with the box. That's a separate item.

Metal thickness is 0.044. With paint that probably makes it 20 gauge steel.

Sears' description says 110 lbs. I didn't weight it but carrying it into the house with my son - the weight is probably accurate.

There is no indication of country of origin. The cardboard shipping box was made by a company in Iowa.

That's a good match. Looks great!

Quick update on that middle chest I got yesterday. The drawers had an annoying squeak when being opened (particularly near the handle area). The noise went away after I test-loaded the drawers with some tools. Is it just me or do these tool chests speak?

I lubricated the slides, but didn't make a difference. It takes a while for me to organize. I usually don't favor the chests which have a limited width size, but since I had gotten the Waterloo, the middle chest was justifiable. Longer tools are oriented horizontally. Just stumbled across the Husky at HD. I don't think it can fit into a station wagon, even with the rear seats folded down; may be it can fit, but the review I came across on YouTube had me on second thoughts--- thinking about what I already have at hand. Now I get to get creative.

Just on there extreme grip adjustable wrenches. 8 and 10in. set for $29.99 not sold on that extreme grip item. Reviews are a little sketchy.
If you are referring to the adjustable wrenches that have a vise grip action, yeah you shouldn't waste your time. I bought one and quickly returned it because the vise grip action really doesn't do much. It may tighten the wrench by 1/16 or so. A big dud.

I'm not usually a fan of Craftsman boxes but man that's a nice looking combo

Any deals on the craftsman adjustable wrenches?

For $27, this is a good set of adjustables. Being a plumber by trade, I have many different sizes, styles and brands of adjustables. These Western Forge made wrenches are superior to any other big box store's adjustable wrenches. These are 100% the exact same as Proto, and I believe SK & some Wright as well, so you know they're good.

Was wondering, what's the total height from top to bottom (from the top most part of the lid-opened to the floor)?

Thanks

Kmart stopped selling those adjustables a while back.

You'll have to get them from Sears:

Extra 10% off tools this week for their Cyber Week.

Excludes DeWalt, NewAge, Clearance, Power Tools, Bench Power Tools, Great Price, Hot Buy, Smart Buy, Unilateral Pricing Policy items, Sears licensed partners & websites, Digital Services, catalog orders, Gift Cards, money orders, wire transfers, commercial orders or previous purchases. In the event of a return, savings may be deducted from refund and points may be credited to account.

Sort of like the extra 10% off during Family & Friends, minus the extra points bonus. Don't know why they excluded power tools this week, though.

Lol, I just got back from Home Depot and was disappointed with the 46" Husky Workbench. The voids on the rear left and rear right support columns were still present. I was going to use the Husky for accessories and power tool storage, but compromise Husky made to supposedly reduce the price was just insulting. An extra inch of sheet metal in those areas would have been great-it would have made a negligible difference in terms of production cost.

I did like the ball bearing mechanism--the double slides need two people to help align and reinsert the bottom drawers. The wood top felt like light composite. The drawers were still relatively flimsy.

Many of the 46-inch carts were selling because of price.

My rule of thumb for toolboxes is if its made in China, buy from HF, and buy from USA if its on sale for a reasonable amount. This is for any DIY'er who doesn't want to expend a lot. :)

The Waterloo chests were a decent deal this Holiday season. ;)

Break out your DIY tools to easily fix that "void" in the rear supports. At your price target the storage space is unbeatable. Nobody expects to put excess weight in a Husky or CM tool cabinet. It's a decent low-cost DIY cabinet for low-med light duty use. The wood top is just fast growing rubber tree hardwood.

Are you sure you were looking at the upgraded one with 100# slides? According to slickdeals, there are three different models, different SKUs, all with different specs, selling for $199.

I'm almost sure now the one I was looking at was the revised model. It had 2 support columns closer to the midline on the back frame of the work bench. The columns did not reach all the way to the top. They did reach the floor though,

Anyone else pick one of these up? Better quality than the standard duty? How's it look? Good storage space for the money?

I picked one up on black Friday, and yes the quality is leagues above the standard duty boxes.... I would say the quality and fit & finish is on par with the HF44 top/bottom set

and at $349 plus $50 in points (real cost $299) thats 1/2 the price of the HF44 set

How much was the side module? I know the top and bottom together came out to be $299 for some of you, but was the side module included?

I think the Craftsman tops that were on sale for about $20.00 are made out of the rubber trees too.
Think k it was stated in this thread, they only produce rubber for X amount of years.
Then they use the wood for cheaper counter tops.
I think they look nice, but I understand the wood is not very hard.

Those would be nice is you were building a kitchen cabinet of some sort.

bubinga, my opinion of the husky changed dramatically in the last 12 hours. I think I saw the first generation model, and the newer models reside in the unopened brown boxes at my local HD. The boxes are decent in its price range, costs around $200. The improved design "sounds promising" the 3 year warranty is an added bonus

I have no plans of expanding my tool storage but will be returning the HF 5 drawer and will be getting the husky instead

Regardless of price I would recommend getting one from a power equipment dealer. It will have a much better chance of being assembled and tuned correctly.
