So who's got a bunch of points expiring at the end of the year (aside from me)?

What are you all going to buy with your points? I can't find anything useful and/or a good deal.

Gamp945, I had 50ish bucks worth of points expire on the sixth, I picked up a bunch of Knipex pliers. I used surprise points and bought a couple 10 off 30 coupons on slickdeals., hope that is ok to say here. Looking at upgrading my adjustable wrenches now, the craftsman ones are made in America. Guess it all depends on what you need.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've already purchased several Knipex items from Sears, including the Craftsman branded Cobras:

Craftsman Cobras

For adjustable wrenches, have you considered the Knipex Pliers Wrench?

Knipex Pliers Wrench

I wish that Craftsman offered a rebranded Pliers Wrench for less money :(

About those coupons that you used: can you use them *with* surprise points?

Almost all surprise points now exclude coupons. Read the fine print on them and see if they do or not.

I think this link should take you to all Craftsman tools that are 30% or more off: http://www.sears.com/search=craftsm...Tab=true&storeId=10153&pageNum=3&levels=Tools

I watch that for deals. I'm also currently making a list on my phone of my power tools that use consumables and what I'm stocked in. This way, I can buy stuff that I don't have. For example, I listed all my nail guns and what length nails I have, so that I can buy other lengths if I want to use points or come across a deal. Also listed my sanders and what size discs/sheets they take and what grits I already have.

Otherwise, as I've mentioned on here before, Sears still offers a lot of good stuff in the tool dept. The quick grip bar clamps are top notch, portable tool boxes are nice (take a look at the cantilever model), hammers, punches, pliers, other some other small stuff is still made in the USA. Sears also sells Fluke, Armstrong (I'm looking to buy a MAXX ratchet from them), Wiha, Wera, Knipex, Grip On, and others. They also carry a lot of automotive specialty tools online. Prices may not be the best, but if you have coupons or points to burn it might be worth it.

A few ideas off my Sears wish list that are decent prices if you want to burn up some points.

Midwest Offset Snips $25 - http://www.sears.com/midwest-snips-2-pc-snip-set-offset-aviation/p-00942894000P

Wera Chiseldriver Set $37 - http://www.sears.com/wera-kraftform-plus-6-pc-chiseldriver-set-with/p-00980860000P

Funnel Buddy Funnel Storage (Expensive for what it is, but an item I really like) $29 - http://www.sears.com/whiteside-funnel-holder-storage-system/p-00901949000P

Wen Spindle Sander (sold under several names, has good reviews) $110 - http://www.sears.com/wen-oscillating-spindle-sander/p-00948031000P

1/2" Armstrong MAXX flex head ratchet $109 - http://www.sears.com/armstrong-1-2inch-dr-maxx-locking-flex-head-ratchet/p-00919187000P

Thanks - this is a great, succinct summary of some of the best stuff to get from Sears

I've been wanting the Knipex Pliers Wrench set for a while but haven't wanted to plunk down the $150 or so. I wonder if Sears will price match the Amazon price...and then also let me apply surprise points and pay with points :D

That's what I just picked up, the craftsman rebranded cobra pliers along with the ten inch diagonal cutters. I agree wish Craftsman rebranded more of them. As Super Sport said nearly all surprise points are excluded by coupons, as are the 10 off 30 I acquired.

Just a heads up had a 10 in surprise points on 25 that works with other coupons and the friends and family discount through Tuesday.

Extremely useful post, thank you Super Sport, I didn't know there was a way to filter by 30% or more.

I used $10 Surprise Points on the Hydraulic Chair which brought the price down to $40 for me (when the original price was $50 at the time not so long ago). I noticed the price is $5 less now. Do you think I'll be able to get a price adjustment or should I let this one slide? Its been a hit or miss experience with Sears lately.

I didn't bite on this deal because I don't need any more sockets/sets, but you get $5 back in points, making it effectively $13 (not bad for the range of sockets, plus a 75-tooth ratchet with extension).

I bit on this just for the 75T ratchet which is surprisingly nice. I had a few bucks in points taking it below the present $16.19 for the ratchet alone. The sockets are just gravy but it's a truly decent kit going to 1" in 3/8" drive which is rare.

Now it says 50% back in points.

I too picked up the set just now. Paid a total of $19.25 after tax, and received 12.?? back in points. Then opted for the day later delivery option to add another $1 back in points. Ebates offered 6% back in cash so that should be another dollar.

I'm still not getting the deals some of you all are, but I'm learning from all of the GJ veterans.

Hell man, it's a nice set for the money. And with $12 in points you basically paid $7

For others looking for ideas, you might still get US made sockets if you order individually. Back in 11/14 (granted it's been 2 years) I ordered 6 individual sockets to round out my 3/8" drive stuff, mostly 13/16" thru 1". Some were EZ read, which I don't care - I don't need my sockets to match, I just wanted sockets. All 6 were made in the US.

So if you need to expand your range of sockets for a given drive size, this might be a way to burn expiring points and you might get US made, mostly 'cause there's a bunch of older individual sockets sitting in some random warehouse. OR maybe someone has already exploited this and is trying to flip them on ebay. There's no way to know what you're getting as the part numbers are the same.

I had $33 in points, so I bought the knipex 10 pliers wrench, for $14 out of pocket, after a $5 coupon was added. Supposedly I'm supposed to get another $5 in points with the purchase as well, but I'll believe it when I see it.. Aside from that, almost impossible to find something I need.

It usually takes between 24 hours and and start of the next sale for the points to be added to the account.

Which current offer lets you earn $5 back for spending $14 out of pocket?

It really depends on the points offer and type of delivery. Sometimes, I can see the points added within a couple minutes after placing an order.

I think it may have been tied to the item itself. Certain items at certain times earn you points back. But I don't pretend to know how it really works, I just go with it.

33+14+5 = 52

Was this one for $52.51? Though, I'm only getting 1% back.

Not a tool but a jacket. Found this on SD. Craftsmen jackets on sale. $120 MSRP $32 plus 5 off 25 on clothing SYW coupon. Ordered one last night, haven't seen one in person. Other jackets for similar prices. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-men-s-insulated-hooded-utility-jacket/p-041VA85893212P

This link isn't working for me, but I put one in my cart last night and it's still letting me go to checkout with it.

I have some similar Craftsman jackets I bought 2-3 years ago. They're not bad, but I find the material pretty stiff. I'm thinking about buying one of these and seeing if they're better. I haven't owned an actual Carhartt to see if those are more comfortable.

The 6 piece Wiha insulated screwdriver set is on sale through today for $29.69. Not a bad deal and if you have some points to spend, you can do even better. I got mine for about $23.

Thank you for posting this. When I added the jacket to my cart the price showed as being $21.99. I could not figure out why since I was not using any coupons or SYWR points. Only after I received my email receipt could I see that Sears had automatically added a "$10 off your purchase of $30 or more" coupon and a "extra 20% off clothing" coupon.

The 48 piece thread restorer kit is finally back in stock as a hot buy for $54.99, so I grabbed that too. When I added it to my cart I received a bonus $6 in surprise points and got free shipping on both items.

Sears is insane!

Craftsman 10 pc. Flare Nut Wrench Set with BONUS 16 X 18 mm Wrench. $35
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-10-pc-flare-nut-wrench-set-with/p-00944010000P

This set goes on sale once or twice a year for all 10 pieces. I think it is a good buy. I bought them last year. It is China and full polish, i prefer the old satin raised panel for the flare nut wrenches but they dont make them anymore. If your missing one flare nut wrench from craftsman the cost is half the price of these 10.

There are a lot of Craftsman Professional screwdrivers back up. You can almost piece together an entire set of Long form Torx if you needed them. Nice mix of Philips too.

Search "Craftsman Professional Screwdrivers".

Also, the Mayhew-made Professional pry bars are up and available for store pickup. $33 or so. This will be your last chance if you want these.

Why do you say this is the last chance to pick up the professional series pry bars? Are they being replaced by the new regular pry bars that come standard with the strike caps?
