Gamp945, I had 50ish bucks worth of points expire on the sixth, I picked up a bunch of Knipex pliers. I used surprise points and bought a couple 10 off 30 coupons on slickdeals., hope that is ok to say here. Looking at upgrading my adjustable wrenches now, the craftsman ones are made in America. Guess it all depends on what you need.

About those coupons that you used: can you use them *with* surprise points?
Almost all surprise points now exclude coupons. Read the fine print on them and see if they do or not.
I think this link should take you to all Craftsman tools that are 30% or more off: http://www.sears.com/search=craftsm...Tab=true&storeId=10153&pageNum=3&levels=Tools
I watch that for deals. I'm also currently making a list on my phone of my power tools that use consumables and what I'm stocked in. This way, I can buy stuff that I don't have. For example, I listed all my nail guns and what length nails I have, so that I can buy other lengths if I want to use points or come across a deal. Also listed my sanders and what size discs/sheets they take and what grits I already have.
Otherwise, as I've mentioned on here before, Sears still offers a lot of good stuff in the tool dept. The quick grip bar clamps are top notch, portable tool boxes are nice (take a look at the cantilever model), hammers, punches, pliers, other some other small stuff is still made in the USA. Sears also sells Fluke, Armstrong (I'm looking to buy a MAXX ratchet from them), Wiha, Wera, Knipex, Grip On, and others. They also carry a lot of automotive specialty tools online. Prices may not be the best, but if you have coupons or points to burn it might be worth it.

I didn't bite on this deal because I don't need any more sockets/sets, but you get $5 back in points, making it effectively $13 (not bad for the range of sockets, plus a 75-tooth ratchet with extension).

I too picked up the set just now. Paid a total of $19.25 after tax, and received 12.?? back in points. Then opted for the day later delivery option to add another $1 back in points. Ebates offered 6% back in cash so that should be another dollar.
I'm still not getting the deals some of you all are, but I'm learning from all of the GJ veterans.

Hell man, it's a nice set for the money. And with $12 in points you basically paid $7
For others looking for ideas, you might still get US made sockets if you order individually. Back in 11/14 (granted it's been 2 years) I ordered 6 individual sockets to round out my 3/8" drive stuff, mostly 13/16" thru 1". Some were EZ read, which I don't care - I don't need my sockets to match, I just wanted sockets. All 6 were made in the US.
So if you need to expand your range of sockets for a given drive size, this might be a way to burn expiring points and you might get US made, mostly 'cause there's a bunch of older individual sockets sitting in some random warehouse. OR maybe someone has already exploited this and is trying to flip them on ebay. There's no way to know what you're getting as the part numbers are the same.
I had $33 in points, so I bought the knipex 10 pliers wrench, for $14 out of pocket, after a $5 coupon was added. Supposedly I'm supposed to get another $5 in points with the purchase as well, but I'll believe it when I see it.. Aside from that, almost impossible to find something I need.

It usually takes between 24 hours and and start of the next sale for the points to be added to the account.
I wouldn't be sitting on a bunch of points after the first of the year. Just saying.
Which current offer lets you earn $5 back for spending $14 out of pocket?![]()

I think it may have been tied to the item itself. Certain items at certain times earn you points back. But I don't pretend to know how it really works, I just go with it.
Not a tool but a jacket. Found this on SD. Craftsmen jackets on sale. $120 MSRP $32 plus 5 off 25 on clothing SYW coupon. Ordered one last night, haven't seen one in person. Other jackets for similar prices. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-men-s-insulated-hooded-utility-jacket/p-041VA85893212P
This link isn't working for me, but I put one in my cart last night and it's still letting me go to checkout with it.
I have some similar Craftsman jackets I bought 2-3 years ago. They're not bad, but I find the material pretty stiff. I'm thinking about buying one of these and seeing if they're better. I haven't owned an actual Carhartt to see if those are more comfortable.

There are a lot of Craftsman Professional screwdrivers back up. You can almost piece together an entire set of Long form Torx if you needed them. Nice mix of Philips too.
Search "Craftsman Professional Screwdrivers".
Also, the Mayhew-made Professional pry bars are up and available for store pickup. $33 or so. This will be your last chance if you want these.
