LOL! This is a Craftsman heirloom set that you can be proud of today and through the years!

must be made in the USA to make that kind of statement, but for some reason I doubt that to be the case

Nope. Seems they are foreign (as per the tool team... whatever marketing department that is).

Whew. Had around $30 in points that I needed to spend before midnight. A simple task turned into using a coupon and adding a small item to get over the $30 hump for free shipping.

With that, pretty much done with Sears until they turn the ship around. Which won't happen but maybe.

Will need to swing by and pick up the utility bag. Sad state of affairs.

For many years with rolling offers, we could pay one penny of our own money and the rest with our reward points to earn the bonus points. I was messing around with the Sears sites, and it looks like we now have to pay at least $1 out of pocket to roll points.

Craftsman 3 PC. PRY BAR SET WITH STRIKE CAP $19.99 + $3 back bonus

If you redeem more than $18.99 in points, then you lose the $3 back in points. You can see this on the mobile site by jumping back to the cart and looking under "Earn for your next purchase".

Things get more tricky when there's more than one item in the cart, and that's probably because your out of pocket payment gets unevenly split up to the multiple items.

Anybody else have a $15 off $75 surprise points offer that doesn't work? Mine says it expires April 4th.

It's about time for me to send all Sears emails to my Spam folder or something.

These points emails haven't worked right for years and I basically stopped trying to use them a LONG LONG time ago.

But these nuisance emails continue, so today is the day that Sears gets booted out of my life permanently.

I honestly haven't seen anybody manage websites worse than they do.

Told my friends to check for Sears surprise points with no minimum purchase. Some have replied with varying amounts ($4, $5, $6).

Even better, mine is stacking with a $-off coupon in the cart.

https://www.shopyourway.com/today/surprise
I just got $5 in surprise pts, no min last night. And I've been getting $7 no min, but on Sears Home, probably three times now, bought some towels. I've never gotten any coupons though, or been able to stack anything.

Yes... I had that offer, too. Tried to use it on a bunch of things... but it didn't work. Then I checked the ShopYourWay website... and it said it was only good on $75 of fine jewelry. Sears left that part out...

Typically, the details are stated for each points offer. On your SYW home page, there should be a "Qualifying items" link associated with each offer.

Doohickey - Thanks. Just picked up another one of the handy utility knives for free thanks to you. The $6 in free points wasn't available on Sears.com but was when I went to SYW like you said. Thanks again.

Thanks - I see the same jewelry offer on shopyourway. But the jewelry offer states "in-store only", and the one on sears.com (which doesn't state jewelry) states "in-store and online."

Who knows what the deal is...

I called shopyourway and the gal there added $15 to my points balance. Try that!

I never get these great points offers you guys post. I've never gotten a no minimum purchase points offer. I must not be a profitable customer that fits their algorithm.

I had $25 surprise points on $125 in tools.

Couldn't get it to work.

But, I got $60 back in points on a die hard battery charger that costs $99.

Sears must be in their final self-destruct mode...making that final spin around the toilet before it flushes.

In the past 2 weeks, they have given me no less than 4 or 5 offers for $5 surprise points if you put $5 worth of items in your cart.

The latest post from shopyourway.com works for me. I've been buying up all the pocket screwdrivers from every store local to me - they are the best and fit in your pocket much nicer than the longer tool truck versions (that they now charge for.. no more freebies when you get raped by the snap-on guy)

Their pry bars with strike caps are still $20 so I snagged a set and used up my reward points. Apparently with this order, I earned an additional $3.20 in points too.

Does it really take a week for the points to appear on your account?

I went with the handi-cut utility cutter set. Two sets of cutters.

Blades made in USA, everything else...take a guess.

Probably overpaid (well they were technically free) but they actually feel fairly decent.

The Craftsman 8 Pc. XL Ratcheting Wrench Set SAE is back in stock for $59.99, if anybody missed it when it went out of stock last time and has been waiting to see if it came back in stock. Metric is still out of stock though. I wish I would have grabbed it at the $49.99 price. But heck, I had $15 worth of points, so jumped on it. I have the Metric set already, and wanted to round out the set and been waiting on the SAE to come back. Really nice quality, fit, and finish, made by Gearwrench.

These box end sets also have $5.25 if future SYW money for each set. Not sure these chinese are worth "net" $20 a set, but might make good gift for Xmas for my son.

For me, I just bought DBE sets from Ebay . . . . Expert (Mac metric) and Indestro SAE.

^Not to get into the debate again, but those ratcheting box end wrenches are made in Taiwan. Whether that is part of China or not is for another thread, but just wanted to clarify.

For the bold, they're pushing the points game on tools this week:

http://www.sears.com/deals/tools-gifts-splurge.html?adcell=ToolsVLNPT1P1#saleprice=asc

Though, they seem to have raised the prices on some items, such as the Gearwrench 20 pc ratcheting set being $5 higher than the normal $49.99

This GearWrench ratcheting set is actually $49.99 at Menards right now, as I went to snag the GW pass-thru set tonight (see Menards thread).

If GJer's haven't got a set yet, maybe catch the Menards 11% rebate along with the $49.99 price on the GW 20 pc ratcheting set (item # 35720). That way you don't have to mess with Sears !! ;)

he is referring to the 5 piece DBE non-ratcheting set.

all polished up, they sure are pretty. . . . .

I had some points to spend, so I bought one (not one set) last year and it was USA. Maybe that was old stock.

Same here. I dunno much about tools, but for the DIY, I am very happy with the price and quality for the metric set. I am in the middle of replacing suspension in my car, and the extra leverage is great to have.

This is coming from a cheap guy that usually buy piece by piece using points, so $59 out of pocket purchase is a big deal for me.

Nice price, BUT!..... I have never had a "need" for these types of wrenches in all my years of 50 years of wrenching. Has anybody Really had a "need" for these offset box wrenches?

Thanks for posting this deal!

X2! But I thought about getting them for my son in auto tech school anyway. Might be one of those tools you can't live without after you have used it. It was that way with me and flex head ratcheting wrenches.

Wait, I have had to use an offset once. Spark plugs on a small block chevy with headers.

For some reason I hear Tina Turner singing our theme song now....

EDIT: OK, just ordered both sets. For some reason though it would not give me the free shipping on orders over $49 and it came to $49.98 or something close to that. I did get $3 off in surprise points though.

Actually had a need for one of these this past weekend. Trying to remove a front stabilizer link on my dad's van. The flats on the shaft are rounded and the joint is just spinning with a socket. If I had one of these I could have had wrench on the nut (it was sitting in a recessed pocket off the side of the shock that was too deep for any normal wrench, etc.) and then used another tool to hold the shaft still. I suppose pass through socket set would also work but not as well as it's much deeper.
