I noticed they have the 3-pc 84T ratchet set on hot buy for $43...

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc-thin-profile-ratchet-set/p-00944992000P

That's only $5 more than if you bought the 3 x 75T ratchets separate right now that are also hot buys...

These magnetic labels really looked interesting:

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-magnetic-labels/p-00965518000P#

The pry bar sets & individuals (including the big daddy 36") are all marked down about as cheap as they have been...

There is also a 5pc Wood Chisel set (China) for $20...

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-5-pc-wood-chisel-set/p-00936859000P

Man, seeing all these prices right now, Sears much really be struggling for cash or just to pump up their numbers even though they aren't going to be making any money...

EDIT - GAHHH.... Stupid surprise points things.... It only wants to give me a $7 off $40 discount even though I have a $10 off $55.... I checked the exclusions for the $10 and it should be valid, it even has a link to pick tools... The $7 off is supposed to be in store only too... Man their system is screwed...

Welcome to the club. I have a $10 off $10 that it refuses to let me use. Even have the physical coupon from the store that printed out when I bought something, still no dice. I did get two!! $6 off $6 today though that I used.

And a deal, USA punches half off, after $6 coupon it cost me $0.49

had $8.88 in points so I got this for $1.19 and shipped free....whats the chances its made in the u.s.a?

Zip, zero, Nada.... It's Chinese... I have one, it works fine... Of course I don't abuse them with a 6' cheater pipe on the end, someone else will have to chime in if that's what you are wondering...

I saw those, that's a good price. The roll-pin set is also discounted:

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-6-pc-roll-pin-punch-set/p-00943167000P

I ended up just buying the 3-pack of the 84T ratchets... I managed to get up to $10 in points playing the games today, plus the $7 surprise...

Hopefully tomorrow & wednesday (wild wins wednesday) I'll be able to build up another $10 or so (plus some surprise points I'm sure), then I'll order those two flex head ratchets if they are still discounted.

Seeing all this stuff discounted this much during an odd time of the year (after 4th of July sales) is kind of troubling...

If Sears would only price stuff the same in the store as they do online and just give an honest everyday price, people might just decide to go to the store once in a while. Instead they choose to play games on prices, points, coupons, and all that BS... Most people don't want to mess with that...

I agree that this "post 4'th of July BLOW OUT sale" is sorta troubling, BUT..... Maybe the Top Brass wants to "impress" the share holders and show them that sales are increasing since they decided to close up a few more stores. :dunno:

I really think the prices of tools will start selling at lower prices within the next month to compete with HF...... It looks like Sears is now selling Chinese made tools at Chinese prices.

yeah - that definitely makes it a pain in the ***.

there were a few deals this week I strongly considered - particularly the 84t ratchets.

but I guess I'm a former sears.com and craftsman club (hahahaha, remember those deals?) customer now. my email address is both used and not used for accounts (if I try to create an account, it's already in use. if I try to reset my password (which I know for 100%, but it rejects), the address isn't registered. create a new account with another email address and link my SYW number to it, well - my SYW number is invalid.

the new HF ratchets were pretty nice when I was playing with them this weekend....maybe I'll try a composite. though my round handled craftsman pro's are still my favorites to grab for 1/4 and 3/8....

paid $2.99 + tax after a $7 off $7. also have a $6 off $10 I didn't use. Oddly it let me do in store pickup and says the store wont have the item till Thursday. Usually won't let you do in store pickup if it's not in stock.

Those symptoms are indicative of a ban, usually for point abuse or multiple accounts.

It has been that way for years - if the item is OOS, they will quote a later availability date and send it to the store. Also items available online that are not stocked at the stores are handled that way.

Depending on the store / item, it will let you do store pickup with an estimated availability date. Like someone else said, it's because they don't physically have any stock at the store but it is something they can put on their normal truck delivery.

I've had quite a few items like that delivered to my local Hometown store when possible. They don't have near the selection of a normal sears. It's weird the items that will allow it... One wrench is okay, but the next size smaller or larger you can't get shipped to store? Some items I can get set to the Hometown store close by, others I have to get sent to the big Sears that is like 30 miles away (if I can't get it shipped). Their back-end system is a total disaster...

EDIT - On a different note... Has anyone seen any "Doorbuster" tags on the games lately? I haven't seen a single one in at least a couple weeks. Also I haven't seen any "Wild Wins" things on the Xtra since early last week I think?

I read on slick deals that they moved sweeps to the cloud so door busters are no longer possible.

On another note the roll pin punches are a pretty good deal right now.

They just had a $5 Wild Wins game. They're up for only 1 hour, so it's easy to miss them.

After making that "moved to the cloud" claim, the sweeps dept released another 2-3 short-lived doorbuster games. So the doorbusters are still possible, but SYW seems to prefer the new Wild Wins 1-hr games over the old doorbusters.

Old method: Both winners and losers got points.

New method: Only winners get points.

Wasn't the 2016 Sears fake Cyber Monday also in July? If I remember correctly, the lowest prices of the year for tools was at that time. :headscrat

EDIT: Actually, some prices were even lower in July, 2016.

Those symptoms are indicative of a ban, usually for point abuse or multiple accounts.

or, in my case, for being a customer too long.

back in ~'15 I tried to make a purchase and had to call humans to get it sorted. turns out they merged the sears.com accounts and the craftsman club (craftsman.com) accounts, sort of, into new SYW accounts. keep in mind these were -not- linked originally and were separate entities. at least, thats what I recall (plus my notes) of what the folks could explain.

so they had two accounts with the same phone number (my craftsman club points converted automatically into a SYW account and got a new SYW number. but I already had a SYW number from my sears.com account from before they were shared). My craftsman club account went back from before there was online access to it, it was a card you used in the store.

long to short of it: 3 days, 4 sets of phone calls found a web > email > web > phone call process got my accounts sorted out and merged, and I was able to make a purchase.

now? who knows. it's too convoluted and their sales are too complex to be bothered with. i certainly wouldn't be ahead of the game buying a set of discounted ratchets and extensions. (funny, I bought extensions in '15 on sale.)

I should note that while I've earned various SYW points over the years because of purchases, unlike my craftsman club membership, I've -never- gotten a single discount out of it - either the system changes, or the points expire, or both.

so what I was trying to say: I think sears.com has lost me as a customer (because they've lost my accounts). At least last time my login attempt -told- me my account was suspended and that I had to call humans. Now it's way more broken than that.

Like someone else said, it's because they don't physically have any stock at the store but it is something they can put on their normal truck delivery.

They are shipped UPS from the online store warehouse - store stock is separate from online stock, when you buy something online that is in stock at the store, the stores sells it to the online store.

I've had quite a few items like that delivered to my local Hometown store when possible. They don't have near the selection of a normal sears.

Hometown stores are different, apparently they are franchises. Many don't accept points, have different pricing, etc.

Correct, they are "independently owned", but pretty much Sears dictates everything to them... What they will stock, prices, sale items, etc, etc...

They *will* price match Sears online price, just print out the page from the website and take it with you as they will need it when they submit it to Sears.

Technically they will still do points, they just don't actively promote it anymore because Sears charges them a percentage (which is stupid)... You just have to ask politely.

I noticed today the 75T ratchets are still the same price, but the 3/8" flex head jumped up like $5... :( 1/2" flex is still same price...

Wild Wins Wednesday! Going to try and win me a few bucks and get a free ratchet...

Is there a thread that explains all these games and such and how y'all get these crazy deals/discounts?

This thread is it... You just have to play the games daily, it's mostly just clicking & answering their polls. You don't have to click the "spin" button you can click "skip" so it goes faster to tell if you won or lost. I do all the instant games + xtra + most prizes + mobile app games...

You can get extra codes for the games and sometimes they will link to hidden games too via this page that is updated daily: https://www.shopyourway.com/tag/magic-sweeps-links-codes/15719063/recent-activity

Surprise points that sears gives just seems to be random, but you do have to be subscribed to their email lists. Then it's just a matter of finding stuff online, or even discounted in store only and combine what points or coupons you have.

Maybe I'm missing it, but I'm not finding all of the games and such. I've signed up and I got a 7 off of 70.

How do y'all get all this stuff for pennies on the dollar.

Thanks!

Hey fellas. Please don't post on this thread unless you have a deal to post. Using the deals thread for general conversation will get your account closed.

Thanks.

Seems like most of the residual deals ended this morning, just in time for them to give me a $5 off $5...of course.

Anyhow here are a few things I would keep your eye on, especially if you have $5-10 in surprise points to spend. Not fantastic sales but I rarely see this stuff on sale at all.

HF is notorious for copying items anyway, so it's likely no coincidence they look similar.

i hate to be pedantic, but i am sooooo good at it, i sometimes can't stop myself.

when i found the torin web site, i noticed that all the HF rolling tool boxes were listed there. one of the things that they mentioned in the description was to contact them for customization.

while 30 years ago, it was probably copying, i think today it is more that they are all going to the same supplier. i think that when you agree to regularly buy container loads of stuff, the supplier agrees to not sell *exactly* the same thing to other buyers.

in the 1990's, Compaq used to do that. they would sell computers that were largely identical to several national stores, but differed (sometimes) only in model number. that way, sears didnt have to price match compusa, since they were "different models". i was talking to a compaq tech support guy about it once. he told me that TS only cared about the first three digits of the model number. the fourth was for "marketing use".
