I used cheap butane once, it smelled horrible, clogged my soldering iron which never worked right again.

I use master appliance ultratane. It costs an arm and a leg but it is cheap insurance to guarantee not destroying $85 soldering irons.

Price mistake?

Fluke Volt Tester $32.33 + free S&H on $25+ orders.

Also not a Hot Buy, so I was able to apply a $5 off $25 tools coupon (single use).

The cyber sales today are pretty incredible. Most of the tools that never seem to go on sale are around 50-70% off. If you were holding out to buy something, I wouldn't wait. Far too many deals to post here, just look for yourselves. Seriously the prices will blow your minds.

Thanks. They really do have a bunch of things on sale that I rarely see on sale, or have never seen for that matter. Apparently my store has this Craftsman Magnetic Finger Glove in stock, but I've never seen it. I do have $5 in points to burn this week. LoL. probably not on that though

Looks like this one might be dead. Tried multiple times to checkout but kept getting "place order failed" message, now shows either shipping restrictions or out of stock. Thanks for posting though.

I was able to pick up a few small items. The magnetic pick up with LED light is normally $15.99, today $5.99. Those are always handy to have around so I bought a couple of them.

That price has been up a few days, however there are a few prices that just came out today and knowing Sears will not last the duration of the sale.

So far a few winners I've ordered that I was able to get shipped for free are:

36" reversable clamp Slovakia $12.08
12" same as above $7.58
Micro version of above $5.78
Nupla 3lb sledge USA $11.18
Battery Terminal ratchet USA $2.63
Varying sizes rebranded Vaughn USA $6-8.
48 in magnetic level USA $14.78
Pry Bars/nail pullers USA $3-6.68
Butterfly Ratchet China $14.**
Compressor Oil USA $3.08
Precision Screwdrivers USA $3.08
24in magnetic level USA $9.38
Spark Plug pliers USA $4.88
Hose Clamp Pliers USA $5.**
3pk finger bit USA $3.98
SpeedLok Connector USA $4.43

Etc etc etc

The biggest fail of the day is Sears only lets you add 25 items to the cart at the time. So I have to do lots of separate orders.

I've never heard of a company, especially one that's doing as bad as Sears, limiting how much you buy. On the other hand, they probably have never upgraded their systems since they first went online either. One plus they do have, is you can pick up from differnt stores on the same order. Lowe's is behinds the times on that one, but I've never been impressed with their record keeping for online in-store pickups.

Thanks for the list. A couple things I hope my local Sears has in stock.

I get shipping unavailable and No Local pickup.

Wonder why the shipping is unavailable?

Discontinued from their warehouse, but ones already shipped to stores might still be in stock without the ability to replenish. Kind of like a clearance item, but not necessarily discontinued by the manufacturer, just no longer carried by the warehouses.

Thanks for the heads up...my warehouse is OOS on most of the clamps unfortunately, but I did still get a few! Wish I could have purchased more though. Thanks!

Thank! I got hose pinch pliers - got to cross this off my want list.

Some deals are great, but some are not. I got socket racks for $3.99 last week, now these are $4.99 smh

What is interesting is they *do* actually seem to intentionally limit what you buy in terms of quantity too.

Lots of stuff you can't order more than 1 or 2 or 3 per order. Yet after you place the order the max remains the same. Clearly a tactic to get you way over the $25 min shipping spend, and to minimize losses on loss leading items maybe? I had to do 2 separate orders to get 2 of the 36 inch clamps for example. But had no issue doing so, even hours apart.

Also there is definitely regional availability for most of this stuff, even from a shipping perspective. Since Sears suppliers are done with favorable terms, stuff lately tends to come from a store right to my house, within about a 150 mile radius. Because I live in SoCal I get to pull from all the stores in LA/Orange County/San Diego/Inland Empire (15-20 I think). That may be why I saw many items for free shipping that aren't available elsewhere.

Also stuff comes from the suppliers themselves now as well. I got some USA Craftsman stuff directly from Wilde in Kansas the other day that was out of stock in the entire state in store. I guess that way the supplier gets paid on a order by order level.

Glad you took advantage, I'm excited about them for sure. I think I miss-typed when I stated USA earlier, they are likely going to be Taiwan but either way a solid piece for 7 bux.

Seems the stuff that was on Black Friday special is either slightly more or unchanged from pricing earlier in the month I noticed. That's what they are counting on to throw off the average Sears shopper. Of course all of us here check so frequently that collectively someone usually notes a drop out of the ordinary within a sea of sale items and alerts the heard. That's the beauty of this forum.

However just as these items on actual sale within the sale appear at random, they tend to go away well before the end of the actual sale, in this case the Cyber sale. My guess is half or more of the deals will be gone tonight at midnight. I have several good $10 off free-cash coupons that don't come online until tomorrow the 28th which supports this. So if you see something I'd get it today, holding out to use the coupons might not pan out.

No worries

Taiwan or USA works for me. I am just a DIY so I am sure they works just fine for my occasional use.

I will keep an eye out - still have some points to spend if I see a good deal! Appreciate you passing along the deal you saw!

I don't think this theory is correct. I experienced the same quantity limiting on the clamps on a recent order (3 weeks ago). I could only order 5 of the 12-inch clamps. When the order arrived, it included only 3 with a hand-written note that stated "Out of stock after 3". The order packer than substituted 4, 6-inch clamps for the missing 2, 12-inch clamps.

I think when the allowed quantity is limited it is actually reflecting limited stock.

I also tried changing addresses to both east-coast and west-coast options. These should be fulfilled by different warehouses. The allowed quantity of clamps stayed the same regardless of which address was defaulted to.

In any case, I tried placing separate orders for more quantity-limited clamps tonight. We'll see what happens!

Anyone know if these are Taiwan or China?
The product photo shows AE.

I have other Craftsman tools with A-AE on the tool and Made in China on the packaging, but I don't have anything with just AE.

The GJ thread Craftsman Hand Tool Manufacturers & Date Ranges doesn't mention AE:
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84807

I checked through all the comments on the sears.com product page... no mention of country of origin.

Based on the similarity between AE and A-AE, I would guess China. We will find out when our socket sets arrive.

Thanks rob1200... I ordered them along with the gearwrench large metrics for $26.93

Thanks for posting those. Been wanting to get the larger sizes of SAE & Metric for a while now. More just to extend the rest I already have. Points/etc came to $25 for both!!

Also got the 48 piece impact set for $80 after whatever. I've got offers on my SAE/Metric Deep set for ~$60, and was just waiting for next $100 sale (China swapping China, ehh). missed it a few weeks ago.

On to the Hose Pinch Pliers :3gears:

The AE is a date code with A=1, E=5, so 2015. The A before the dash is likely the plant. I've seen some with A and D.

Most if not all of the very good deals mentioned in my earlier post ended tonight as suspected, after just 24 hours despite the Cyber sale supposedly running a few more days. This is typical of Sears, the majority of truly good deals are gone within 24 hours of the start of any sale regardless of the duration of the entire sale itself. I sincerely hope people found some stuff to pickup during the short window they were available.

I can confirm there was a bit of overlap between the next day (ability to use dated freecash from the 28th) and the end of the sale. Such that items I put in my cart before the price increase remained at the lower price for an hour so I could order them with the use of my freecash today. Something to keep in mind for the future.

A common complaint on Amazon reviews is the 1/4 breaks first time you use it. If you pick this up test the 1/4 mine came broken, gears stripped?

No issues thusfar. I’d guess the people posting negative comments there are an unlucky minority.
