Wow sears jacked all their prices around today...

Get what you want now... Usually on the 1st they raise the price for everything and sales don't really start again till the next major holiday...

Hoping that they do not raise the set of 3 CF pro pry bars for the next few days while I am contemplating if I should buy or not and give me time to collect some points - maybe I will win some $5 :lol_hitti

$30 is a great deal, but I already have 2 set of 3 of the regular pry bar.

I bought stuff recently and forgot to give them my SYW info. I filled out the form online the other day. I just looked at the info page and it said if you bought it from a Sears Hometown to call instead. I call and go through basically the same automated steps and it gives me some # that I saved...

Does anyone know how long it takes them to process these? I should get back $30 in points from my purchase, and I want to use that with a $15 off $40 in tools that expires on the 30th...

Should I call back and talk to a representative, can they do it any faster? Or do you think it will get processed within 24hrs?

I have found emailing to be one of the better solutions. Explaining over the phone if worse than teeth being pulled. Just attach copies of whatever receipt and explain what you thought should have happened. They usually get back within 24 hours, but during the holidays maybe a little longer.

You're not confusing Sears Hometown with Sears, correct? They each have their own offers and policies, but your posts suggest you shop in-store at Hometown.

I bought them in-store at a Hometown...

Nearest regular sears is about an hour away and it's closing anyhow...

I called... Guy said it has been processed and will be posted on Jan 5th... :( Oh well, I guess if it happens sooner great, if not then I'm not really surprised with Sears...

Would be nice to get the $30 in points sooner rather than later though but I'm sure I will get more freecash offers after the 1st...

Did Sears Hometown advertise an offer for bonus points?

At the usual 1% back, I'd have to make a $3000 purchase to earn $30 in points.

It's on the sears website... Buy online or in store and you get $10 back for every $40 you spend...

Usually any promo like that at "sears" is also good at the hometown / hardware stores...

I dunno, we'll see what happens...

It's the opposite for me, so usually any Sears promo does not apply in-store at Sears Hometown. However, there's a loophole that let's me participate in Sears offers by purchasing on Sears.com, but do the order pickup at a Sears Hometown.

Sears Hometown and Outlets were spun off from Sears Holdings a few years ago, so the manager at the local Hometown store complains about having to explain to customers that Sears offers do not apply at his store.

"Valid at participating Sears stores and Sears.com. Points credit to your account 24 hours after purchase."

Yeah they work online as I have received quite a few points on pickup items. No idea if it works for in store purchases.

Hometown stores don't participate in ShopYourWay offers. You can redeem regular base points, but no offers in store. If you purchase online, you can use the offers for item pickup in Hometown stores.

I have done several price protection from stuffs I bought. Usually within 2 days I got my points back. However, the last two request by filling up the form were denied for some silly reasons. I then have a chat with their CS, and got both approved without any problem. But still, they said 7-10 days before getting my points back. I got my points back for one transaction after I chat with them again (it was more than 10 days) - they immediately put the point back while I was online. The other transaction is still being processed.

Not sure if this is because Sears is backed-up due to holiday, or just new strategy hoping that most people would just forget after 7-10 days. Well, I wont forget - I write everything down

Having said that, kudos for Sears. Everytime I clicked chat, the wait is minutes, often time immediately I am connected to someone. I recently had to chat with Newegg Customer Service. Both times the wait was more than 30 minutes. Newegg may have more customers, or just do not have enough workers, and vice-versa with Sears.

There chat is much better than most other online chats I have experienced. I swear it is the only department in Sears Holding that operates like one would expect it to. Or maybe Sears expects all the departments to be fubar-ed, and the chat is defying expectations :willy_nil.

My 9-piece flare wrench set just came in. They’re made in China, date code A-AF. They look pretty good, not bad for $25 before points.

Had some freecash to blow, so I got the Mayhew CP pry bars. Weird that they have them at the same price as the non Pro version, but I can't argue with $9 shipped.

I use a 25' Fat Max now, when I started working for my old man back in the good old days I used a wood folding rule.

I got a Lufkin wood folding ruler at Sears a few months ago! Had to get it at my second-closest store (and it was the last one of these there), because the closest store only had a lesser model that doesn't have the sliding brass extension that makes it useful for 'inside' measurements. Neither store has received any restocks of these since, so I'm pretty sure that's another supplier Sears lost; if any of you might want one, and your store still has any, grab it while you still can.

At least now I know it's not just me, lol. (I complained about a similar experience trying price protection a couple weeks ago.) That team seems to have brought in some real morons recently - hopefully just for the holiday season, but not likely. :(

Struck out on the darn hex nut snowflake at my out-of-town store. They had some, again despite the website saying they had none, but not that one. I will be in the vicinity of another further-away store in a few days to make one more attempt. It's disappointing to realize too late that these were in a lot more stores than the website ever admitted, but were never inventoried properly or something, and now most of them are sold out for real.

Victory! I was able to get the last Hex Nut Snowflake at the store I passed on my holiday trip.

Anyone own this? Any good? I mean I know Lisle is a good brand, and I can get this for free...

They work great and hold solid. Use it for holding hoods and used to use it to hold the pedal down adjusting truck clutches.

I bought the Lisle hood prop when it was at $17 in early December (it's back up to $24 currently, still a discount from the full price of $32). My store never had these locally, and I'd never heard of it until it came up in this thread. I gave it a good workout in an unusual use a few days ago... it held up the side of a fairly heavy gateleg table I was repairing, for over 24 hours straight without the slightest movement. The latches that hold the hood prop at the length it's extended to only release when I put the side of my thumb underneath them and press up.

+1. Very happy with the purchase, and it was heavier/better build than what I expected.

I wasn't happy with the standard made in usa screwdrivers (always bending and chipping) if they're made in China now... wow.
