I received this hammer today as part of a ship-to-home order. Good deal if your local store still has any or you can put together a $25+ order; not available for ship-to-store. My local store carries the 16oz version of this for a less-appealing price, but the 14oz seems to be scarce.
$14.92 online sale, $29.99 regular price - steel-handle 14oz rip claw hammer http://www.sears.com/cm-claw-hammr/p-00946500000P

Also, Sears is doing that thing again like they've done many (usually holiday) weekends in the past 2 months... If you make an in-store purchase on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, you have a high chance of receiving a bounceback-type coupon for $6-$10 off (amount is random) a subsequent purchase of that amount or higher, to use in the following week. I bought something in store today, paid entirely with points, and received a $6 coupon.

I thought the same thing when I saw the picture, but it can't be at that price.

It's most likely made in China like the vast majority of their recent new products, but could be a good knockoff. TPR is a nice handle material. The big question is how durable is the metal and how accurate is the sizing, and there's no reviews to judge by yet.

Yeah, if you zoom in on the blades, there's a Z-AB stamping on the shaft. That's indicative of Chinese Craftsman stuff. It figures.

Was that printed on your receipt or emailed later?

I am jealous... the local hometown store do not accept points...

I always pick the "emailed & printed" option on the PIN pad for receipts on in-store purchases. This results in:
1) a printed coupon similar to the half-dozen or so that usually spit out after the receipt;
2) a cardboard card the size of a gift card (not required, but some of the barcode scanners seem to have an easier time scanning that one, so I make sure to get one; it's the same card for everyone, and its effect is determined by what value got assigned to your account this week);
and 3) an emailed e-receipt that includes a copy of this coupon, towards the bottom, under the "SAVE MORE NEXT TIME YOU SHOP" heading

Or gearwrench?

So is this the new style screwdriver? I ask because my Sears had only a single screwdriver on the wall. One. Along the same lines, I've recently ordered some stuff online and it looks like they are purposely depleting stock everywhere. Common things like jigsaws, circular saws, and belt sanders not available in my area or not available for shipping. Other things just out of stock. My Sears hardly had a hammer in stock. I had to order a hammer online and have it skipped to the store. One model hacksaw is available at only one store within 50 miles. It's becoming difficult to get stuff. Perhaps the vendors are spooked and they just can't get any product in.

Most stores also have Chinese-made versions of the classic red/white/blue cellulose-acetate-butyrate handle Craftsman screwdrivers that used to be made by Western Forge (who Sears lost about 6 months ago). I don't know why your store is so bad off it doesn't even have those replacements. This new type is intended as more of an upgrade style, I think, intended to slot between the red/white/blue ones at the lower end and the grey "Extreme Grip" (also Chinese-made IIRC, introduced earlier this year, so most stores should still have those too) ones at the higher end.

I had several posts back on page 292 about tools vendors Sears seems to have lost recently: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295780&page=292

I thought I saw a press release from GW that they were shifting the color pattern away from red/black to yellow/black (right around the same time they started using that color scheme on their website overhaul).

I sincerely hope that I'm wrong, because I'm not a fan of the yellow/black color scheme.

I think this discussion is getting a bit confused - the post you replied to had replied to an image of an older style of Gearwrench screwdrivers that reminded that person of the style of the new Craftsman screwdrivers, but was asking about the Craftsman screwdrivers, not about Gearwrench.

The Gearwrench 'brand identity' change, focusing on yellowish-orange/black, is a done deal. http://toolguyd.com/gearwrench-brand-identity-new-2017/ is probably the article you were thinking of about that. And yeah, the new look is all over gearwrench.com already.

So disappointed.... I have been saving up my points to buy this and was about to buy it but the price is up 80 bucks. Thought it could stay on sale till the end of the month..... I even bought my wife a dishwasher from sears so that I could get more points for it....

Sears can be quite frustrating with the frequency and randomness of their price changes. Some things stay the same discounted price for weeks or even months, some prices only last a week, some last a few days, and (fortunately not often) some only last a few hours! There's been some deals that changed price several times in the same day. In my experience the most likely time for deals to end is midnight Saturday night (though they end at plenty of other times too on the more volatile items); any time you can manage to buy by a Saturday night to avoid delaying into another week, it makes it a bit less risky.

I wish they would state end dates for prices on their website. People don't expect/want this kind of volatility from a traditional retailer, even though we have been forced to put up with it from Amazon.

LOL at this review... I was looking into possibly getting a staple gun, but looks like it's not gonna be this one... http://www.sears.com/craftsman-electric-staple-nail-gun-easyfire-trade/p-00968492000P

"Want a better stapler? Buy a bananna
So if you need an electric stapler, I'd recommend you pick up a banana at your local grocery store and use it instead. It might not drive staples, but neither does this tool, and a banana is considerably less expensive. Plus you can eat the banana after it fails to drive staples. In that way it is completely superior to the Craftsman Electric Staple/Nail Gun EasyFire. After five minutes of use, a misfire. Change the staples, it fires, followed by another misfire. Change the staples, another misfire. Misfire after misfire to the point of being absolutely and completely useless. And unlike the banana, you can't eat it. A do not buy."

Wow sears jacked all their prices around today...

Get what you want now... Usually on the 1st they raise the price for everything and sales don't really start again till the next major holiday...

@EOC_Jason you are correct here. I am off today, and I notice this morning on a few items that I wanted, the price go back up to normal price without discount. I have not checked Sears for a few days. Kinda wish I bought some of the single sockets that I want but I can wait. Any prediction when will they do another sales?

I did bought CF Pro pry bar set for $30 before the price go back up to $50. Appreciate the tip ^

Thanks for the info, need to find something left that I need and is still decent quality to spend 80 bucks in points on now... any favorites you guys would recommend?

I bet you don't already own every type of hammer Sears sells; those are pretty nice and use up ~$15-$30 apiece. :)

Or if you want one big item, here's some useful ideas:

$80 shopvac http://www.sears.com/craftsman-four...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

$80 ratcheting tool set http://www.sears.com/craftsman-83-p...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=9&blockNo=9&blockType=G9

$75 JawStand http://www.sears.com/rockwell-jawst...erId=SEARS&prdNo=16&blockNo=16&blockType=G16#

$89 Vise-Grip set http://www.sears.com/vise-grip-6-pi...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

Probably President's Day or some sort of Spring sale... I don't think there will be anything across the board until Memorial Day or 4th of July...

I was hunting those ornaments down a couple weeks ago... good stuff... tip: if your local store still has any, the website will almost always lie and say they don't have any; you have to go in person, and look thoroughly throughout the Christmas area.

If you purchased something in-store up right before Xmas until 12/31, you should have triggered a $10+ off anything surprise point offer in your account, but won't show up there. You will need to enter 9820584131886010 in the coupon field to see what the amount is.

In case anyone sees that who isn't also following the SYW thread, and missed our previous discussion in this thread after I got one of those last Friday... this is not surprise points, it's a coupon that only applies for you if you made an in-store purchase on the Fri-Sat-Sun weekend before Christmas or weekend before New Year's, and had the receipt printed at checkout. Also note that the value varies from $6 to $10 from what I've seen, not $10+ [edit: the possible values may top out at $13 rather than $10, just saw one mention of someone getting one that high at a Kmart]. :) If you are eligible for the coupon, it should work until Jan 14.

I saw mostly $10, but someone did get $12 :D. Figured it was based off the prior years purchases, but maybe not. I guess I consider all the offers from Sears just that, offers. They are all pretty much the same, with coupons being a little more restrictive with not being able to be used on 'Hot Buy' and 'Great Price' items. Surprise points or coupon, it's the same amount off in the end.

I did see the Boeshield T-9 w/ Rrust Free spray bottle marked down to $12.99 in-store (unavailable online it looks like). That's cheaper by a couple dollars to the lowest price online. That's what I plan on using my $10 towards or a Flexzilla air hose whip that isn't marked down, but I don't see them on Sears.com anymore

The amounts awarded for the weekend in-store purchase coupons seems to be random. I have received them on multiple holiday weekends in the last several months, in amounts ranging from $6 to $10 and one time none at all (it's not guaranteed), and my most recent one was another $6. :)

I've never seen any Boeshield products at my Sears, and you're correct that they've disappeared from the website (except for third-party sellers), so I'd jump on that one while you still can.
