Hmmm, I also realized I haven't had any Sears emails lately? They used to send them to me like daily... Maybe I accidentally unsubscribed, I'll have to check my subscription preferences. Still haven't got any new freecash offers.
If you were unsubscribed from their emails, IIRC you'd no longer be allowed to play the SYW games, so that's an easy way to be sure, but it can't hurt to double-check. I haven't received as many as usual for the last week or two, but I definitely remember deleting at least a couple in the last few days, and I think there was one just this morning but I've already emptied my email trash folder.
I don't think I get emails for each surprise points / freecash offer, just have to check the website for them periodically.
Edit: And just got an email from ShopYourWay because one of the semi-random things I added to my likes/wants for a sweepstakes had a price change.

I had the same issues with SP and whatnot a few years ago. Turns out they reset the "spending" level each year. If you don't pay much out of pocket after hte new year then the offers dry up.. Once you buy some stuff the offers start to return again. At least that is how it was a few years ago when it happened to me.
I had no idea what was going on when that happened so I created a customer support ticket, and went though all the notifications settings to confirm I was enrolled in all the emails etc. Turns out it was all spending/order dependent.
They may have changed it since then. I know if you leave your account idle for a certain amount of time you start getting some really good SP's too.

Sears seems to be playing a game and dragging out their bankruptcy, when the bubble finally bursts a lot of people will be left holding the bag.
That's why I wanted to order my "free $50" right away. I'm on the phone right now, ugh... A lot of work for stuff I really don't even need! LOL.
You can view the points/when they are going to be credited on shopyourway.com then once you log in go to my points. It shows transactions and points, and shows some that are futuredated with the date they are going to be credited.

It's all welcome here, all relevant to understanding how to get deals when dealing with such a challenging company to shop with.
Unless they extend it, we should be rid of that offer at the end of the day Sunday Jan 28. Hopefully they'll go back to better up-front deals on Monday.
That is my hope as well. However they know people have a lot of points banked now due to these promos so they may keep prices high until the point train runs out...

I ordered a Yost 905-AS - 5"All Steel Utility Workshop Vise last night for $84.99 - $10 freecash. Thought that was a pretty good deal. Unfortunately it went up to $99.99 today.
Oh and my cheapie drill press came today. It's identical to the HF 10" 12 speed but it has a laser and cast iron table. Made by powersmart and Sears stopped selling them right after I ordered mine. So I got this drill press, craftsman insulated overalls and $50 worth of kmart house brand items for $120.

I was at my Hometown store today picking up a hose I bought with my points... Was browsing around and came across a couple neat little items...
First, I saw this little pump you install in the front of your shop-vac and plug-in so it will drain the canister out via a hose. This would probably be good for people up north with basements or companies that do flood damage... lol. I just thought it was neat...
But next was this little gem... Literally in the very back corner of the store... A C3 cordless vacuum, brand new in the box! Shipped to the store in 2013, and sitting there all that time collecting dust! LOL... Was on sale too.

The only thing a bit misleading on the pump is that you can't "****" and "pump" simultaneously. You have to **** the water until the shop vac is full, then turn off the shop vac, then turn on the pump to pump out the shop vac. Then repeat the process over-and-over again. So you can't realistically pump out a basement or pump out flood damage with that, the way you could do with say a submersible pump. Also, the pump has a much slower rate than the shop vac, so it wouldn't be able to keep up with the shop vac anyway.
It is more made for things like the picture shows, where you are pumping out a sink or something, so you don't have to haul the shop vac around to empty it. That is basically the purpose of that pump, to save you from manually emptying the shop vac and having to haul it around full of water. It serves its purpose, but don't get your expectations set to high for that pump. It's not really as good as you think it would be. I got one to empty my 8-person spa with, and it kind of struggles with that much water, but it is a back saver to some degree, rather than lifting heavy buckets of water out of the spa like I used to.

The Pump-Out thing sounds neat, hadn't been aware of it before, although the Sears site says my store has some. The box looks so faded, I'm guessing it had been at your Hometown store even longer than the C3 vacuum... http://www.sears.com/craftsman-pump-out-wet-dry-vac-pump-accessory/p-00916952000P says the product has existed since the year 2000. MSRP $40, on sale for $20 currently.
Seems to be a pretty uncommon type of product - there's a yellow "Workshop"-brand version on Amazon for $52 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FX39DQQ/?tag=atomicindus08-20 , and an identical orange Ridgid-brand version on Home Depot's website (not in stores) for $40 https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-...sory-for-RIDGID-Wet-Dry-Vacs-VP2000/100496507 , and no other competitors that I see. Although the case of the Craftsman version is a different design, I wonder if it's made by the same company as those two, since there doesn't seem to be anyone else making these.
The Workshop item's page says "A 12 gallon vac full of water weighs over 100 pounds!"
I hadn't realized it added up so fast. Previous gen of Craftsman shop vacs were from Emerson, just like Ridgid vacs.
Current gen appears to be from Vacmaster.

A hometown store that I've visited faced south and the front fascia was all large windows. Anything that had been near the front there for any amount of time was faded pretty badly.
I love stopping at Hometown stores to see what NOS they have. I have found quite a few discontinued C3 tools over the years. With the prices of them now, I wish I had bought all they had!

FYI, I did *not* buy the pump, I have no use for it. Just something oddball that I never saw before or knew existed. I don't know how it was so faded, it was in a dark corner of the store, the only area with windows is over at appliances. It wouldn't surprise me if it was there for many years as it doesn't even look like the model on Sears website!
I was just tickled to get the C3 vacuum! The only other C3 he has that I really want is the 6-1/2" circular saw, but my current one works fine really for what I use. If I have a bunch of larger material I always pull out my makita...
There were still some USA slip-joint pliers (Channellock style), and some individual & small packs of the USA screwdrivers. Rest of the stuff has been replaced with China copies.
Owner told me that the grills he had out on the floor were the last he's ever going to get. I guess whatever company made them for Sears (Nexgrill?) has cut them off too...

I have a friend that lives in a little podunk town (and that's being generous) that has a hometown store, I have yet to get a chance to go in there. I can only IMAGINE what hidden gems it must have stocked on its shelves!

Vacmaster must have also cut off Sears. Because shipping has not been available for a couple months now on the pumps, and the only ones available are leftover ones in stores that have the stock on hand. It doesn't appear that they are being restocked or available for shipping. So if you want one, and your store has one, might want to grab one now.
The pump is one of those $x.92 price drops from a few months ago, so it's definitely on it's way out of Sears. However, Craftsman vacs that look like rebadged Vacmaster are still available with shipping:

as an example, sears stopped carrying maytag appliances, but maytag continues to make kenmore appliances.
i bet that sears pays for house brand merchandise when it is delivered, but has a "floor plan" for vendor brand stuff, allowing for it to be paid for when it is sold (like a lot of new car dealers do with vehicles). since [insert company name here] gets paid upon delivery (or when delivery is available) for some items, their risk is pretty small, so they continue to deal with sears, but they dont want a significant amount of stock locked in those stores under chapter N of the bankruptcy code, and they left holding a creditor's statement, looking to get anything back a few years in the future.

Yes, that sounds about right from what I've read as well.
However, note that as I posted about last week here, Maytag/Whirlpool reportedly has been cutting back on even their Kenmore appliance production for a while now, and LG is starting to also, so Sears is lining up obscure foreign manufacturers to fill the gap (Daewoo and some Chinese brands).

i remember that post. at the time, i wondered if this was actually the chinese coming in and offering better terms than whirlpool and lg are . . . . maybe even taking the bet, and extending sears a credit line to jump start their buying . . . .
If anyone is wanting their RP ratchets rebuilt, I'd recommend doing so now.
1)Sears closing many stores and ACE hardware I can confirm doesn't and likely Lowe's will no longer perform this service.
2) Even the modern version of the kits are pretty pricey on eBay
3) I have 4 Sears near me, I know I am lucky, and of the 4 none are officially closing even as of the latest list. Aka they are all fairly healthy. *However* of the 4, only 1 store still has any 3/8 or 1/4 kits left. Stores CAN NOT order any more kits at this time although it appears Sears still has some. The other stores offered to order new ratchets shipped to my home, I declined to give up my USA.
4) There are sizeable benefits to be had by getting a original USA RP rebuilt. See below. First, never give Sears your old ratchet guts. Pull the snap ring and take everything out, giving them just the handle, they will still rebuild it.
If you are lucky your store still has kits. The kit will give you a few nice pieces to improve your original. A slick metal charcoal chrome selector lever, a less stiff pawl spring, and a more pointed pawl. Utilizing these pieces, along with your original USA drive head, snap ring, check ball, and retaining plate you can improve your clunky later USA RP far better than it ever was new.
Most people won't care to do this, but for me it made all the difference in the world in the action of the ratchet and overall smoothness. And since the kits are totally free, with no downside if you pre pull your USA guts, there is no downside other than the time to drive to the store and if they happen to have no more kits.
I would recommend keeping the USA drive head if still in good shape as well as the retaining plate and snap ring. The Chinese parts arent quite the right thickness as the original and as a result can create some slop when assembled in a UsA housing. At the least retain the USA cover plate and snap ring.
*Note* they don't stock kits to rebuild the Chinese ratchets at all, they will just give you a new one. Nor any of the finer tooth ratchets, although one store I visited did have a USA made kit for a 60t 1/4 drive so YMMV.
