You've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

attachment.php

LOL, yeah, there's an item I've had my eye on but with supposed ship dates further out than I feel comfortable with (not THAT far out, though) for the last couple months. I keep hoping one day I'll find the dates moving closer on it.

I have an order that has pick-up date as May 3. I am not worried. Are you concerned that particular location might be closed by May?

Mine is this item: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3pc-body-clip-removal-set/p-00949277000P

No, my location isn't expected to close, but I do most of my buying with short-expiration points and it can be a potential pain to get those restored if they end up deciding to cancel the order long after the points used on it expired. Dates that far out seem to me like there's something tenuous about the supply for that item.

The store and the company!

The store is in a mall that's changing its charter. They're moving from an anchor model to a outlet model. Bon Ton has already left and the Sears is seriously picked over.

If anything, I'd ship to the local hometown store. Best chance of being alive the longest, I think.

The 3pc body clip set shows May 3rd for me too... That's just too weird such a far day out...

Either someone mis-typed a due date (but with so many items?), or the supplier isn't doing another production run for a while. Or they are just waiting on Sears' check to clear...

I had been hoping that with this being Presidents' Day weekend, there would be another opportunity to get a bounceback coupon with an in-store purchase. Unfortunately, it looks like that deal they'd been quietly doing every holiday-weekend for several months (Columbus Day through MLK Day) has come to an end. (Edit: Someone else replied that they did get one today, I was just unlucky. ) I bought some stuff in-store this evening, made sure to get the printed receipt which triggers those coupons, but no such luck. The best thing it spit out was $10 off $15 in clothing. :(

And now I know the current in-store pricing for the Craftsman Flex Claw hammers, if anyone else wants one.
The 18oz ($29.99 regular price) is $24.99 online, but $19.99 in store from Jan 28 through Feb 24.
The 24oz ($39.99 regular price) is $22.99 online, but $24.99 in store, same dates.
I decided to get the 24oz (despite the $2 price difference) because it would combine well with a $10.99 set of spring clamps I'd had on my list, to trigger an additional $5 off $35 surprise points offer that brought my OOP after my existing points down to about $3 total.

Not true for all stores/members. Today J went in and got a Gearwrench HEI ignition tester for $1.20 after points and having them price match. Sure enough got a blue card loaded with $10. Same for the guy in front of me who spent $10 on ignition wrenches.

It's worth going if they are giving them out. Just see if people in front of you in line get them.

Well, ****. Thanks for letting us know they're still doing it, ***** that I was one of the randomly-don't-get-it people this time (that did happen one other weekend months ago). I hadn't been able to find anyone else saying online one way or the other yet today before I went.

So I ordered a drill from a Sears Hometown store that was showing 2 in inventory (funny how hometown site will show inventory numbers but sears.com doesn't)... Within a couple minutes it was cancelled... I used like $26 in points too... Waited like an hour and they never came back so I chatted with CS... He said it can take 7-10 days for them to put back in... ARGH... I have $5 in freecash that expires on the 21st I wanted to use with my other points on something else but looks like I"ll have to wait. Guess I'll just get something small for store pickup at my local hometown...

I guess it was my fault, should have called that hometown to verify they had them in stock before ordering...

They should have 3, if online says 2. And points have always came back almost instantly/same day on cancellations of mine. My problem has been my hometown store has stock, but doesn't reflect online, so I can never order the shovels I want (online only price when I do want to buy)

I've compared some items online to my local Hometown store, usually they were the same quantity numbers. But I have also run into items in store but not listed on the Sears or Hometown website. My local owner is cool, he will price match the Sears.com price without issue, and he also lets me use points.

I'm going to wait till my points come back in my account, then I'm going to call that other Hometown store and see if they can find the drill.

EDIT - Item is now showing out of stock so I guess they fixed the quantity in their system. Or kept them for themselves if they local price was even lower.

Unfortunately it is just a matter of chatting with someone who knows what to do. I would try chatting with different person. Tell them you want to buy something now to take advantage of your $5 freecash, so it is unfair you got to wait 7-10 days for their system to return your points.

I would push for 1. Return your points immediately while you are chatting with them (which they can do - they have done this for me several time) or 2. They can order that item that you want for you while you chat with them (I have done this one time) and use your points + $5.

Don't forget to get copy of the text from chat send to your email.

Good luck!

Yeah right now my points are all wonky...

Besides the cancelled order, I also have $5 from my half-birthday expires on the 21st, which it shows. But also there was the $5 from the SYW games that expires on the 20th but that doesn't show on Sears, only on the SYW site... Weird... I know I can't use both $5 things on the same order, but I can do two orders for the free cash... hehe...

I'm going to figure out exactly what I want to buy then I'll chat with CS again...

A number of Craftsman Pro jig saw blade sets are half price. If picture is accurate, they should be Swiss made. (Can anyone confirm that?)

Some models are some models aren't some used to be some still maybe are. Like everything sears, go to the store to check if it's physically on the shelf and COO. Then order right in the store. It's the only way anymore if you don't wanna loose your points/end up with bad COO if there is a non-china version.

My store still has a lot of the pro jigsaw blades. The ones labeled Professional are indeed swiss made. Here is a pick from a pack I picked up not too long ago.

Will Sears Hardware stores ship an item? The item I want is only in stock at a store 75 miles away and not available for shipping. Customer Service chat recommended calling them to see if they will ship it. Can't call them now anyway, they aren't open

Has anyone done this before?

I talked to my local Hometown store owner the other day. He actually suggested the same thing to me for an item I wanted far away. Shipping isn't something they "do" so you won't get free shipping with an item, but if you ask nicely they might do it for you if you agree to pay for it and aren't in a rush to get the item.

How does the Shop Your Way program work? Do you spend the $75 and get a $50 credit to use next time? I'm a little lost as it seems there are lots of programs that seem kinda gimmicky or something.

The $50 points back thing has expired...

It is gimmicky, but if you are patient and know how it all works and pay attention to expiration dates you can get some really good deals.

Sears prices are all over the place, one day an item will be $11, the next day it will be $65... Then $32... then back up... then down... It's stupid but that's how they do their thing...

Sometimes they will do great deals like the $50 back in points on a $75 purchase. Sometimes they will do a specific item that is like $20 but they give you $20 back in points!

Of course having points is only good if you plan on buying something else within a few days.

Your results may vary but, yesterday I ordered the Craftsman 2 piece impact screwdriver set online and it was only $8.68 with tax out the door with store pick up.
In the store they were marked $21.99 on the rack. However, online they were $19.99 minus 10% off tools, minus a $2.00 coupon, minus $10 in surprise points which dropped the price to $7.99 plus 69 cents tax made it $8.68 out the door. For that price, I couldn't say no.

I went into my local store today and it was sad. Not only did they have a lot of bare shelves, most of what they did have was priced as msrp. I would think they should be doing whatever it takes to generate enough revenue to stay afloat and get products back on the shelves.

that assumes that the manufacturers will fulfill orders for them. when i was talking to the locals last fall, and mentioned the shelves, they said that as items were sold, they were supposed to be automatically reordered. as things began to get scarce, they started ordering "additional" stock. none of it had ever shown up.

one said that the store manager told him that when she looked, there was screen after screen of stock orders listed as pending, some months old. it either shipped to them in three or four days, or it never did.

this store is not on a closure list, although one of the local stores appeared on the most recent list. i dont think they have been any closures around here until now.

YMMV

My Hometown store owner said he has no control over his inventory... zero... He gets whatever Sears ships him and he has no idea what it is going to be...

Yeah, Sears has been having issues paying vendors in a timely manner for quite some time. We've had several discussions in the past couple of months about some noticeable vendors whose products have gone missing in the past year or so. Occasionally Sears seems to get caught up enough with one of them to start being able to get orders fulfilled again after months of absence.

I've been eyeing an item that has been unavailable for shipping for about 4 weeks. I went to the store and offered to purchase their display and they said they couldn't sell it b/c it was still an inventoried item that they carry in store.... They are definitely having trouble getting stock to put on the shelves.

My store is also not slated for closure but their hardware and tools section is a ghost town
