OK, I did my in-vehicle pickup (after going back to my car from inside the store in order to use my $15 off $15 in-store that expires tomorrow). I still haven't gotten my $10 bonus points from completing in-car pickup.

However, I also just realized that the associate never scanned the barcode on my phone when he brought it out to my car, so the timer is still counting in the app on my phone (we're at over an hour now). I hope they're not waiting for that scan in order to reward the points. If I don't see them in the next day or so, I suppose I'll need to contact support yet again for those points.

Sorry I couldn't provide an affirmative data point here. I'll update if and when I get those points, but I'm thinking it probably won't happen in time for anyone else to take advantage of the deal (this time anyway).

If anyone has a Hometown store nearby with these still in stock, price is a steal. Pretty sure they are the USA Wilde version. I live in the city so no hometown stores near me. I like these far more than the strike cap version because the smooth handles are ease to clean. I already have the pro strike cap and standard strike cap sets, would love to find these to complete the trio.

Yes, those are made in USA by Wilde. They were superseded by the standard versions with strike caps (also made in USA by Wilde), which regularly go on sale for $17-$20.

The versions with strike caps are pretty much better in every way, unless you happen to prefer the rounder, slipperier handles of the old versions. I have all three sets, but only because I started with the regular non-strike-cap versions before the strike-cap versions came out, then upgraded to the strike-cap versions when they went on sale, then upgraded to the Mayhew-made professional versions when those went on sale.

Given that they are pry bars with acetate handles where the metal does not extend all the way through the handle, for safety reasons (who doesn't need to tap the handles with a hammer every now and then?), I'd recommend the strike-cap versions for $7 more when those go on sale. Then again, that's a 50% difference in cost, so yeah $13 for these is a pretty good deal provided you're not worried about breaking the handles and hurting yourself.

As I said above I do already own the two strike cap versions. However as many reviewers for the standard strike cap version say, the grain of the handles gets super grimy from usual auto use and are impossible to clean. I have experienced this with my set. The pro version is smoother but still has some ridges grime can accumulate in. These smooth ones have no such groves and are easily wiped down post repair.

My main use for these is prying motor mounts/wrapping in a rag and putting tension on alternators/power steering pumps/etc. As such no need for a strike cap. So there are several very good reasons to have these in your box despite what has been said and even if you already own the other sets.

Hometown stores list a LOT of items that probably aren't in stock up *maybe* a couple stores in the whole country... It's such a tease some of the clearance prices they list with no way to order or find them except by maybe blind luck.

Still, I recommend if you are traveling any distance, google for hometown stores and see if any are along route. ;) You never know what you will find there.

I sold those in a garage sale for $20, as I had upgraded to the strike cap. Now I upgrade to the Pro's, and will probably offload the others this year. I don't do that much prying.

lol, yeah you should have gotten your phone scanned... Now you are more than likely going to have to contact customer service!

Yeah, gotta get the phone barcode scanned or it won't be marked as 'picked up' and trigger the deal. If you have time to go back to the store and make them scan your barcode then, that would both probably be easier than dealing with customer service about this, AND probably get you a $5 'sorry we took so long' coupon to use on a future purchase (combinable with the $10 in points that you'll hopefully be getting once this is fixed). :)

Finally someone on SD reports that they did get the in-vehicle pickup points:

"I got my $10 in points sometime in the last few hours. I ordered around midnight on Sunday and picked up my order around 8:30 PM on Monday (3/19). So in my case it took about 24 hours after pickup to get my points. My points expire on 4/4."

"It didn't show anything about the points until I got them. My order confirmation just showed the regular points that I earned with the order. Nothing on my points changed after pickup until the $10 in points were awarded a few hours ago."

Did anyone ever get the scriber, spark plug pliers or hose clamp pliers? Pretty sure we are never going to see those ship.

I can't remember exactly now, but some items were showing April or May dates. If your expected delivery date has passed, then it would be good to contact customer service about it.

F & F and $10 cash back for vehicle pick-up is still being offered.

Interesting. They only extended the expiration by 1 day though - now both offers say today 3/21 is the last day, instead of the originally scheduled 3/20. Dunno if they'll extend it again tomorrow or not.

Does anyone else keep getting a Sears $10 off $40 coupon after placing a Sears.com order?

Yes... I did last time... in addition to the 'usual' (for me, at least) $5 off $35 coupon. I tend to get those even if I use all points/don't spend any money out-of-pocket.

But using them is can be a bit of hassle - I'll often get a message that they can't be applied to anything in my cart... or they turn out to really be $7 off $40 coupons. Most of the time, I have to use the Chat feature to resolve... but they're usually pretty good about reducing the cost of the item or 'returning' $5 worth of points.

Are you referring to this ? If yes, I already pick this up. Not sure when I ordered it, but it was several weeks ago.

My scriber is supposed to be here tomorrow.

I did not buy spark plug pliers.

Weighing only 24.25 lbs., the Evolv 40 pc impact socket set is portable and easy to store on or off the job

Dang that must be some heavy sockets...

I ordered the Hose Clamp Pliers on March 16th. I just looked at the status, and it says "Processing". It does have a UPS Tracking Number. But when I look up the tracking number, it say "Label Printed" but has not been processed by UPS yet.

Grip-On $35.99.

Now that I own basically all the Craftsman tools, and all the Channellock, Knipex, Armstrong, and Mayhew Sears has ever sold (at pennies on the dollar with shopyourway points). I was looking for what's next.

Got these Grip-On for about 7 bucks out of pocket after sale price, friends and family, and FREECASH points. They are really nice, well made, and have some heft to them. Made in Spain. I believe these are the OE for Snap-On's Bluepoint Line, and they are the same except the handles are Orange instead of Blue.

I'm going to have to start putting together of set of Grip-On as I earn points. They are really nice.

The case must be made of the same impact steel. :p

(According to the specs for the 10pc sets, the four of them come out to about 16 lbs)

The $7 off $35 coupons always show up as $8 off $40 in the cart, but I ignore those now.

It also looks like the $5 off $25 coupons for Tools/L&G/Outdoor Storage have been replaced with $10 off $75. Quite a difference. :headscrat

I just got off chat with support about price matching. I got refunds on 6 different items that have dropped in price since I bought them. Worth a few minutes chatting if you bought before the most recent F and F sale. They price match within 30 days of your purchase if price drops.

Also, I’m getting weird FREECASH offers that I can’t seem to use. This one says $15 but it looks like it is showing up as $1.50 when I try to use it.

I also just got my $10 points. Same, right around 36 hours. And we learned from my mishap that the points weren't contingent on getting the in-vehicle pickup barcode scanned, so it must have been enough that I used in-vehicle pickup and the Sears employee marked it as picked up.

The 10% and the in-vehicle pickup offer have now officially ended, they did not get extended again.

My current freecash offers:

$15 FREECASH in Points on $40 in the Home Department
$8 FREECASH in Points on $50 Storewide at Sears
$7 FREECASH in Points on $35 Storewide at Sears
$5 FREECASH in Points on $25 in Tools, Lawn and Garden, or Outdoor Storage
$5 FREECASH in Points on $35 Storewide at Sears

It can vary quite a bit, I've had high-dollar ones like you mentioned before too...

Oh man I didn't think about that, I could have gotten like $20 back during the F&F...

What about if you paid mostly in points? Do they give you points back?

Another question I was thinking about...

What if like the item price triggered like one of those $50 freecash on $100, but if you do a pricematch can it revert that and cause issues with your account?

Looks like $40 freecash on $40 purchase on BestSelling items.

Sears app says limit 3 per member, points awarded 7 days after purchase, points to expire 14 days after receipt.

http://www.sears.com/seller/10167855
...

Clarification since the name/phrasing is so misleading, this is for items sold by a third-party seller named "Bestselling". From what I saw in a brief look, it's a bunch of no-name direct-from-China stuff with highly-misleading 'regular prices' that it would never sell for. Perhaps there's something worthwhile in there.

Thanks Hexen. Wow that is misleading at best.

Well, when I clicked on the offer link on the homepage, it led to a page full of items sold by Bestselling. So I passed on it. :dunno:

Thanks, but I was discussing the $-off coupons that are given after placing an online order. I usually find two or three coupons on the order confirmation page (or confirmation email).

That's what most of those are, they pop up almost immediately after my last couple online orders.
