This is what I've done. Between the $10 back for every $30, and the 50% back, I've now gotten 7 different Knipex pliers at an average $16.50 each. Pro tip: search the site by "Knipex", click Sears from the sellers list, then sort by price low-to-high.

There are several in the $20-$30 range that are competitively priced even without the points back, including the smaller linesmans and the 10" cobras, along with some diagonal cutters. I'd look at ones up to $45 or $55 too though, as there are many that aren't as competitively priced, but they're less than 50% overpriced, so with the points back, they're still the best deals you're likely to find. For example, $44 with $22 back in points is pretty darn good for the small 5" pliers-wrench.

+1 this is a great deal. I have 8-10 knipex all from Sears (kinda lost track of the exact number lmao), and would love to have a few more.

I do need cell phone more urgently than knipex - mine died recently, so need a new one asap. Decision... decision... :lol_hitti

I believe you are confused it was $10 in points after a $30 purchase. The current offer is 50% back, ie $15 in points after a $30 purchase. You are eligible as long as you have shop your way.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Sorry, the $10 off $30 was the deal they had a couple weeks ago on tools. Then they had the F&F 10% off last week. Now is the 50% up to $50 back on tools. That one is on the Sears homepage right now.

Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk

Just go look at any tool, and you will see the points-back on the right side is 50% of the sale price.

Keep in mind that is based on how much "out of pocket" you pay.

Thanx! I'll try to figure this out!

What are the most useful sizes of those Pliers Wrenches?

They're all useful depending on what you're doing (or so I've heard from the excellent reviews - I only covet them from afar, so far ;) ). Judging popularity by Amazon review volume, you should probably start with the 10in Knipex Pliers Wrench (234 reviews). 7in comes in a close second (215 reviews), followed by 12in (103 reviews), 6in (87 reviews), and then 5in (66 reviews)... and last but certainly not least is the big daddy 16in with just 12 reviews (the most expensive).

One more question, is the 50% cashback, once per day I guess?

Looks like 1 use per account?

"Get 50% CASHBACK in points on Tools. Exclusion: Up to $50 per Member. Points awarded next day and expire 7 days from receipt. Limit 1 time per member. Online only sold by Sears. Valid through April 1, 2018 11:59 PM CST Points earned will be added to your Shop Your Way account and can be used on your next purchase. "

Yep, you only get to do it once for the duration of this offer. Several people here have done similar offers several times in the last couple months, but we never know when it may happen again. So if you can afford to buy several items now (up to $100 total pre-tax OOP) in a single transaction, you might want to go ahead and do that.

So, I made a purchase in-store last Friday (2 days ago) and got a $10 off $10 offer for 3/26-4/1. I made another in-store purchase today to use up another offer I had that was expiring today, and received another $10 off $15 offer also good 3/26-4/1! :bounce:

Today's purchase was the 20-piece socket accessory set http://www.sears.com/craftsman-20-piece-drive-tool-accessory-set/p-A009988410 , which is on sale (in-store and online) for $30, 50% off the 'regular' price of $60 (which I haven't seen it spend very much time at).

There are several smaller socket accessory sets offered by Craftsman, but this one is a much better deal than buying the smaller sets that would add up to this one's contents. They had plenty of the smaller sets in stock at both of the stores in my area, but I got what appeared to be the last 20-piece set I could find between both stores. Presumably it will be restocked at some point, but you never know with Sears these days, so it jumped to the top of my list, before buying the T-handle spinners I intend to use the accessories with.

+1. The 10' model has jaw opening up to 1-3/4" - I think should cover most situation around the house.

Personally I like to have the smaller one just because I can maybe get into tight spaces better.

For anyone who was interested in the discussion a couple days ago about how the next person in line was able to use another customer's points at Kmart when their card got scanned a second time, there's been a few more points of interest posted on SD about that today:
1) someone else reported that the same thing happened to them
2) it turns out that the PIN is never required for any dollar amount when scanning the membership card instead of entering the phone number
3) even for phone-number-based transactions, they have raised the point at which the PIN is required from the original $10 threshold, to $15 at some point previously, and recently to $25.

Started using a card I printed out from the SYW website a couple years ago, and haven't had to enter the PIN since then.

A few Sears cashiers have told me to enter a PIN after already scanning the barcode on the card, so I had to explain how the software will let them apply my points without any PIN.

NOTE: Kmart scanners can scan barcodes on smartphones, but Sears scanners cannot.

Cman 3/4 drive socket set at half price plus $50 back in points.
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-16-pc-12.-pt-standard-3-4-in/p-00946304000P
Bought this today. Even for china couldn't turn down at this price.

Anyone gotten the 50% back yet?

Can it be used multiple times per account if separate orders on separate days?

I noticed it's not truly 50% back regardless. I tried to order 2 of the 3/4 sets and only got $61 back projected not $125.

Once per account.

50% cashback on tools is maxed at $50 total for the entire order. If you select "Details" it will show you the breakdown, then "base points" for the remainder of the points, which is calculated as a % of the price paid.

You're right, when I looked at the option to print my membership card, it says: "When redeeming points in store with this card, no PIN is required!" It doesn't state a threshold, but implies you can deplete the account. Why would they do that? Sounds like they're setting themselves up for fraudulent purchases. Could I dispute an unauthorized purchase?

Thanx for the info. My specific store is doing a $20 back on $40 deal. Basically just as good for an item of the correct price. Its just down to finding something that is the same price in store as online, and hasn't gone below $40 in the past.

Sure, but how successful you would be is another matter. :dunno: I haven't seen any reports yet from anyone who had that happen to them and tried to get the points back.

My strategy is spent them all as soon as I have enough points for any item that I want. I am always worried they will close/declare bankruptcy and I got points that I have not use.

I did not realize this but I am glad I spent all my points around Christmas when I happened to buy stuffs at B&M. I would be pissed if someone use up my points.

And just to comment - I highly doubt it is the shopper behind you that would use up your points. My guess, the cashier is the person who deplete the account. He/she saw you got points left in your account.

EDIT: did you guys notice Sears give $10 of $10 over weekend? I had $10 of $10, use it up + points on Sunday, and paid ~$2. Today I notice another $10 of $10 in my account :bounce:

Not complaining at all

Yep, in-store weekend purchases have been very rewarding lately. :) I posted about the offers I got this past weekend a couple days ago. Will be waiting until this coming weekend to use them, hoping for another repeat!

I should have said in my earlier post that my purchase is online, not in-store. And thank you for the tip, I am planning to use them this coming weekend instead of today.

Oh cool, that kind of offer has been usually coming from in-store purchases only, but I guess this past weekend they did it for online purchases too. If you can find something worthwhile to use it on in-store, that's been more likely to get you another offer than buying online, but definitely wait till the weekend again either way.

I bought it too... Stacked a coupon and used some points to bring the purchase down to exactly $100 before tax... Going to pick up either today or tomorrow, then points get put in my account. (They apply points after item ships or is picked up).

They clarified terms more on this one than their last fiasco recently...

Max 1 time per member, maximum of $50 in points (hence why I dropped price to exactly $100.)

What's funny is the 50% back is capped at $50, but then points can still be earned at a lower rate in addition to base points.

I had mine down to $105.98 pre tax.

Got $54.24 back in points not $50 and $1.06 in extra base points. Total of $55.30 back for spending $105.98.

Points showed up for me last night. I picked up 2 hours after ordering.

Nope! I made 2 in-store purchases last weekend, both paid 100% with points/offers, and received a $10 off $10 and a $10 off $15 to use this week. If you go back a couple pages in this thread you can see the full details of what I bought if you're curious.

That's interesting. It was showing only the base points past the $100 amount for me... Ah, good old Sears website, such a cluster F...

I haven't picked up my item yet, and I just looked at a tool that is $139.99 and it's showing I can get $51.40 back in points... lol. I'm not going to tempt fate though, I know it won't process both like the last fiasco everyone went thorough. Better to just wait till the next promo period.

I have no idea how they came up with that amount of points for timoboy, but at least their screwy math went in someone's favor this time, instead of screwing up in their usual not-in-the-customer's-favor direction. ;)

Anyone looking to spend their points on Chisels/Punches. WF is no longer the OEM. New China copies just showed up at my store this week. Some old stock may be left but was pretty wiped out around here before China started flooding in.

LOL. I had to read that math twice to try to understand what is going on... and still have no idea what they did.

Oh... good to know!! That is exactly what I was going to buy. Appreciate the heads-up @timoboy!

That is sad. I have some US made chisels and was going to get more.

IT really is, as they are both Tools in a sense, Or like if you're buying something on craigslist, and running late, make a call, hey, I'm running 15 minuets late, Don't take off. Was meeting a guy for a as new block grinder on OEM stand, and Couldn't find him in parking Lot, (Before I had a cell, He had a cell, and i was a long way from home) You realize there are very very few pay phones any more.
Finely had to ask Clerk at Sheetz , to make a call for me. (Found him BTW)
I use mine in the shop all the time, to call parts store, calculator, look something up on line, etc.

Item 47394 - 3 pc internal / external retaining ring plier set.

Perhaps not a killer deal, but they're made in the USA and come with a case. Just picked mine up this weekend after a slightly extended ship to store wait.

Also USA made but slightly extended pickup time in store:

--Item 30568, 3 pc mallet set w/ replacement tips - all USA made
--Item 47060, 2.5" hose pinch tool - USA made

--NOTE 1: Retaining ring plier set posted above and the 2 in this reply were "out of stock" for shipping & store pickup for a while - then were suddenly available.
--NOTE 2: The retaining ring plier set and the 2 tools below weren't available to ship to either Sears within 20 mins of me, but we're available to the one approximately 90 miles away. As it's along a route I travel frequently for business it wasn't a big deal for me.

:lol_hitti Another stupid mistake, when I was looking at the 3/4" socket set posted here recently, I noticed on several of the related-product listings for 3/4" sockets being sold individually, their product titles and brand data say "CARFTSMAN" instead of "Craftsman". :wtf:
http://www.sears.com/tools/b-102000...d&sbf=Brand,Brand&sbv=CARFTSMAN&searsTab=true
They didn't make that mistake on any other tools, just half a dozen 3/4" sockets. :dunno:

Lucky duck! I was trying anything to get ahold of that set. Not available anywhere in CA.

The mallet set I ordered way back a year ago free after sale and points back when Sears was still stocking everything. They are super high quality. Took about a week to come in. Can't recommend enough.

That said the Sears Appliance and Hardware if you have one nearby (I traveled half way across the country to visit one) has far more stock than a normal Sears and the best chance of finding the last of the USA non stock items like this.

Nearest two stores have the same USA punch & chisel set remaining (think it's the 6 piece), so I've been waiting for a big price drop before posting it here. Guess it fell through the Sears cracks.
