More details about the stores being auctioned off... one of them is mine. Hoping for lease!!

" The auction, run by real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, will partner with Real Insight Marketplace, an online auction website, to help Sears begin selling off its physical store locations.
The first auction will sell 16 profitable store locations in Texas (5), Missouri (4), Indiana (3), Ohio (3) and Michigan (1). All but one of the stores is attached to a mall.
Buyers are being offered the option of closing the Sears location and repurposing it for another retailer or sign a sale and lease-back deal, which will allow the Sears store to continue operating under a lease agreement. Buyers can also convert Sears stores into self-storage, hotel, or residential properties.
About 200 bidders have already expressed interest, which exceeded the expectations of Sears Holdings, which may put some or all of its owned Sears and Kmart locations up for auction by this summer. "

They will be accepting bids at https://marketplace.realinsight.com/property/search?search_keyword=sears until May 1, and finalizing paperwork by the end of May.

Man those are nice looking, these were US correct?

No that is a China set... It's pretty nice to be honest...

As for the store auctions... Looks like Sears is getting creative trying to raise some quick cash and get out of their long-term leases... ***** that mall in Springfield is on the list, that's probably the closest full sears to me (still a couple hours away at least). They just keep slowly fading away...

These are all buildings still owned by Sears Holdings, actually... They've been gradually selling off quite a few of their buildings to Seritage Real Estate Investment Trust (owned by Eddie Lampert, the Sears Holdings CEO and largest shareholder) for several years - some of them still being leased back to Sears, some vacant, some repurposed to new tenants - but I guess he's finally reached the limit for what he's willing to buy with Seritage, thus the new approach for auctioning off the remaining Sears-owned buildings.

The big list of the next round of Kmart closures that's expected any day now is more about getting out of leases; Kmarts have been almost entirely leased locations since the beginning.

@Jason, wow! I missed that on my mobile until I got to a PC, that is pretty spectacular for China, even the inside of the sockets look good. How does the ratchet feel?

like an up-sized tear-drop ratchet. It's pretty smooth action, just obviously heavy because it's so large.

Zoro has lower prices, but Sears has free S&H for $25+ or ship-to-store. Not tagged as 'Hot Buy', so coupons can apply.

The craftsman is only 18" deep, where the Husky is 24." Husky has one large drawer on top, which I have come to like. 100lb drawer slides on Husky, 30 on Craftsman. The Craftsman does not have any power strip.

also, it isn't available for me

And from the reviews on the Craftsman one, the drawer slides **** even at minimal load. :(

So I finally got my hose pliers. I ended up paying $13 total for two of them with shipping to the store. Man, what a quality piece, literally one of the nicest tools I got from this thread. Craftsman re-branding someone else's tool at its best.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-2.5-in-hose-pinch-off-tool/p-00947060000P

They arrived in a plain white box. Only thing on the box was "Made in USA" and a part number that comes back to MAC Tools version for $65.99. Yeah, we stole this thing.

If you live in an area they will still ship this thing to, get it. It's one of the highest quality tools USA they still sell. Even at full price its less than half the cost of the Gearwrench version. I was incredibly lucky I pounced on it when it was available for nationwide shipping for a single day.

Is anyone else still waiting for theirs? Mine say in transit to my local store. At least I paid 0 out of pocket with points.

Wow, that is impressive. It's unorderable for me now, but I'll keep that in mind if anyone ever sees it become widely available again (probably not going to happen, but it has happened on some products). I don't currently expect to need such an item, but would add it to my 'just in case a need eventually comes up' tool stash. ;)

Yeah, we stole this thing.

I got one just because I got it for about 8 bucks. I never knew it was going to be this nice, or I would have bought at least two of them, maybe four.

One of the best Craftsman rebranded tools I've seen.

The pinching mechanism on this thing is unreal. Closes as tight as you want, and opens by pulling the handles apart. No springs, levers, adjustments, locking switches, or anything. They must have a patent on the locking mechanism. Otherwise, you would see Harbor Freight copy cats of this tool. It's that good.

Just got an email for a 'flash sale' at Sears. Today only.

Greenworks Lawn Cart - $250 + $50 in points. Lower than anywhere else. $370 on Amazon. Though the title of the cart has a model # that is for the Greenworks Dethatcher (also listed in the sale), the pricing seems accurate to the cart.
A few other items of potential interest participating in the one-day "Beat the Clock" sale:

table saw for $300 with $100 back in points (reg. $350):

6ft garage cabinet for $400 with $100 back in points (reg. $510):
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-premium-heavy-duty-floor-cabinet-all-shelves/p-00904663000P

450-pc tool set for $210 with $50 back in points (reg. $400):

That's what it says on the points page. Take it with a grain of salt though.

Yeah, I think the current sale price (not including the points-back offer that runs longer) is only good until some time late tonight / early tomorrow morning. There may still be some lesser discount running for the remaining days that the points-back offer continues on.

Nope, not military. I'm a school teacher in the inner-city, that should be good for some sort of discount!

Trying to spend my $20 from texting deal + $10 off $25.

Craftsman Nextec 12V Cordless Compact 1/4" Impact Driver $53.

Is this pretty good? I understand this is old technology, is it worth the price? Has plenty of positive review. My main use will be working on car. I been wanting a lightweight impact. I already have 1/2" for tougher duty.

Dewalt is what I like to have - I have seen it in action before and feels good on hand, but twice as expensive.

This recent review on the Nextec impact is encouraging:

"This 12 volt impact driver is very nice for the price, with points I got it for 36.45 out the door. It's not what I would consider contractor grade and shouldn't be used for framing everyday, but I really don't think that any 12 volt impact driver should be doing that, This little driver can drive 3 inch screws into solid redwood and pine 2×4s without any hesitation. It's great for fastening and unfastening nuts and bolts in an automotive setting. Also the battery life is very outstanding and it takes very little time to recharge, the battery will last anywhere from 2 1/2 hours to 4 hours depending on what you're doing with it. Bottom line is I think that it is just as good as the dewalt, makita, and milwakuee but for less than half the cost."

A few other noteworthy reviews:

"I work in an auto dealership and use this product at least 5-7 times a day on everything from air filter housings and battery holddowns to under vehicle covers. I have had it about 2 weeks now and have yet to need to charge it. It has great power and is very lightweight."

"I work as an automotive technician and this little impact driver is great for delicate interior work and taking splash gaurds off of the bottom cars. It has plenty of torque for its size and the battery life is just awesome. I've even been thinking about getting another one to keep at home just because of how much I like using it."

"Although it doesn't have enough punch to break tire lugs, i still love it. It's much smaller than 18 volt drivers, so I can get into tight places without it being bulky. It does have plenty of power for work around the house, or lighter car work. I find myself grabbing this driver first."

I own this impact and it is great. I also have the right angle impact. Between the two, I have framed my entire basement and built dozens of cabinets with the two. Really, I haven't found their limits yet. I particularly like the light weight feel when working with these.

The batteries don't last long, but they are only $20 a pop and charge fast. The batteries with the LED light built in seem to go dead much quicker when sitting.

I do sometimes wonder when the last production run for these and their batteries were.

I too have the $10 off $25 and the $20 in bonus points from last week. So I am looking for something more big ticket

They actually got a brand-new production run of Nextec stuff just last month, according to the reviews, after having been out of stock since last year. Sears has somehow managed to revive several vendor relationships / product lines recently, as unlikely as it seems at this point in their life.
