Yeah today's sale had to be the shortest ever. Under 12 hours all told. The 3/4 set was briefly on sale long enough for me to get the price adjustment done on the ones from earlier. Hopefully anyone that had the $124.99 price did the adjustment and got their $20 and change back in points. I was just at the 30 day limit on my first order.

There were some random incredible deals though. The carpenter pencil was $0.20, the high end usa plastic socket racks were $2.60. Website was super glitchy during the sale. Lots of items claimed to have points back but nothing delivered in the cart. Hopefully these deals come back online this Sunday or whenever..

Oh SNAP I didn't think about that! I ordered mine on the 26th too! *sigh* Oh well, easy come, easy go...

Funny I was reading somewhere on Sears site. It said you have 30 days to return something, but members get 45 days... Did not know that (not that I have ever returned anything).

EDIT - Those 3/4" Metric sockets are still marked down around $6 each if anyone has points they need to burn...

Oh, that's longer than I thought... not the shortest ever, though still frustratingly short. There have been a few sales on particular items for as little as an hour or two before the price changes again (could be up, could be down). I think they were doing that more last December.

These stools look pretty nice.

Craftsman Blue Adjustable Hydraulic Seat
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-hydraulic-seat-blue/p-00952828000P
$100 regularly, $50 sale on blue (seldom below $70), $46 sale on black (on sale for ~$50 more often than blue)
It is a 'hot buy' sale, so you can't use coupons, but freecash surprise points offers should apply if you have one for a suitable amount.

The black one (admittedly, not as good-looking as the blue, IMO) isn't listed as a 'Hot Buy' so maybe the common $10 off $40 coupon might work.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-black-adjustable-hydraulic-seat/p-00949860000P

... and would mean it would just qualify for free shipping, too.

The black stool is now $50 too (I guess the drop to $46 was part of today's weird assortment of less-than-one-day sales), but remains non-"Hot Buy". Blue remains $50 and "Hot Buy".

Must have started after Christmas, probably the 1st of the year. I brought something in 2 days after 30 and was denied around Xmas.

The blue stool is now sold out online. (Reverted to "Temporarily unavailable", so you can't even see the price to get matched if you find one in your local store.) The black stool remains available at $50.

Well looks like they dropped prices again, except that 3/4" set is still $224...

Even though the front page says "Get up to $50 cashback on tools", I don't see the 50% thing on any items and they are all just showing normal points...

Sears gonna Sears...

Here are the fixed links: ...but I'm seeing all of these items at full price (except the saw, at $125) right now. :dunno: Flash sale, I guess.

" Craftsman 4 oz. General Purpose Cutting Fluid - marked down from $4.99 to $2.72

Craftsman 6-Piece Bolt-Out Set - from $39.99 to $22.22

Craftsman 7" Rafter Angle Aluminum Square 39601 - from $6.99 to $4.39

Komelon 25ft x 1in Chrome Pro Tape Measure - from $9.99 to $5.82

Craftsman CM 24-IN COMPACT BOLT CUTTER - from $39.99 to $21.95

Craftsman 16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw - from $131.99 to $88.37 (hot buy) "

I just checked and all the sale prices are back for me, except for the scroll saw which is now still showing as $125. I don't know what made me order yesterday immediately when I saw it, because normally I'd wait until I got home, but now I'm glad I did.

Also, this is kind of weird, but when I price protected the 3/4" drive socket set, the black swivel chair, and the 1/2" drive impact socket set yesterday, they refunded the differences to my card. That's the first time I've seen that, all the other times, they've given me either FREECASH points or surprise points. I just price protected a few more small items, and they did the same. Is this a new policy?

Man you are lucky... They claim they will do it back to my card, but it never shows up so I just tell them to give me points which they can do instantly...

Cool, they are all (except the saw) back on sale for me too this morning. I might have to make that folding bolt cutter my next purchase if the sale holds out long enough for me to get more points... I've been eyeing the online-only Olympia Tools version forever, since it has a feature the Craftsman rebrand unfortunately omitted (being able readjust the blades if they eventually get out of alignment), but it is tempting to give in and go with Craftsman at nearly half the price...

Yeah, they've been really pushing points refunds (even outright refusing to do credit card refunds if asked) for at least the last several months or so. If that's suddenly changed (to their detriment, since it's not keeping those funds locked up for a guaranteed additional purchase at Sears/Kmart), I bet a company lawyer told them they needed to stop doing that.

I sure hope this is the new policy as I thought the way they did it before was illegal as far as return order - Freecash -> Points -> CC.

We'll see... With price-matching I'm okay with points since it's not something they *have* to offer. But if I was to return something I would definitely want my money back.

Yeah, I keep my OOP spending so low it's not much concern for me personally either way, but I know some people have been pretty pissed about it. I'd be back buying something else soon enough that the points would get used anyway, but eventually some people would get left holding the bag when they lose their local store.

The Craftsman Compact Bolt Cutter is the same one as the Olympia Tools PowerGrip Bolt Cutters. Olympia Tools is the OE for the Craftsman.

I have the Olympia Tools version. It cuts bolts, nails, and locks like a hot knife through butter. And folds up very compact and fits in a toolbox.

Highly recommended.

The brief return of some of yesterday's deals again appears to be over.

Even for Sears these buy windows are getting so short for no apparent reason. This one was about half the time of yesterday's. Tomorrow's might be 2 hours total...

Good way to tick off the last few people paying out of pocket for their stuff. Prices are going to start changing on people while they are on chat trying to get adjustments.

Argh, you're right! I was complaining about them jerking prices around so fast in December-ish too. Very frustrating.

Some of those weren't even marked "online-only" prices, so I wonder if they are actually being marked as such in-store (e.g. the bolt cutter which I know is at my local store), with a longer duration on the sale there.

Good news is some items are finally showing the 50% back in points. It seems totally random as to what they are doing points back on, the vast majority is included up to $50. Some hot buys are included some not. Some items at the low price from this week are included, some aren't. You just have to play around with it.

For example all the USA made pipe wrenches. Yes they have been cheaper but the points back is great.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-10-in-pipe-wrench-steel/p-00951651000P?sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=G4

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-14-in-pipe-wrench-steel/p-00951652000P?sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

Metric XL wrenches $40 back in points

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-8pc-max-axess-wl-ratcheting-wrench-set/p-00910924000P?sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=50&blockNo=50&blockType=G50

Impacts of almost all types here is just an example
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-12-pc-laser-impact-socket-accessory-set/p-00915885000P?sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=5&blockNo=5&blockType=G5

Sand paper $5 back

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-9-x-11-in-sandpaper-50-pk/p-00922893000P?sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=39&blockNo=39&blockType=G39

Open stock sockets are included. So if you paid out of pocket for the 3/4 drive metric stuff, maybe reorder and return the earlier stuff so you earn points this time.

There's another new store closure announcement today, not part of the two dozen that begin liquidation tomorrow (April 27 through July).

Sears to close its Johnstown Galleria location (Johnstown, Pennsylvania)

" The Johnstown Galleria's Sears store is set to close this summer, a company executive confirmed Thursday.

The store will begin its liquidation sale on May 18 and will remain open to the public until it finally shuts its doors in early August, according to Riefs.

Riefs declined to say how many employees would be affected by the closure, saying that that number "is not publicly available." He did say that "those associates that are eligible" will receive severance and have the opportunity to apply for open positions at other Sears or Kmart stores.

WTH... the sale is back and I missed it again. I need to wake up earlier and start looking at Sears site like you all...

I wonder if they will have these sale until weekend. During workdays it is hard to find time to check prices.

Too bad it has the Craftsman Name on it. Really devalues it compared to Husquvarna.

Sears.com is running a "flash sale", actually advertised as such for a change, today 4/27 and tomorrow 4/28.

There's just 15 participating items in the tools department (and 15 appliances). Nothing jumps out at me as particularly noteworthy of a sale amount. http://www.sears.com/deals/center/h...dcell=hp_searsdays_flashsale&department=Tools

This might be the item most of interest, since I remember somebody in this thread wishing for a sale on this regular-length set a couple weeks ago when a weird-lengths set was on sale.

Craftsman 6 pc. Extreme Grip Diamond Tip Screwdriver Set
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-6-piece-extreme-grip-diamond-tip-screwdriver/p-00915495000P
$39.99 regularly, $19.99 sale
+ Get up to $50 CASHBACK in points.

(Oh, and the weird set is on sale still/again too, plus participating in the 50%-back deal, if anyone wants both. Not part of the "flash sale" promo but an even better discount than the items that are.)

Craftsman Extreme Grip 10-Pc. Diamond Tip Screwdriver Set
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-extreme-grip-10-piece-diamond-tip-screwdriver/p-00950838000P
$59.99 regularly, $24.99 sale
+ Get up to $50 CASHBACK in points.

Got my metric 3/4" sockets in today... All China... :(

They shipped them in a small padded envelope (with no packing material inside) that was half a heatbeat from ripping apart. The bubble pack was all popped... It's like they stuck it in a dryer and let it tumble for hours on end... lol

A couple are scuffed, most are fine. A lot better than what I was expecting before opening the package! The finish of one is a different tint than the others. Also one has a really thin socket wall. I'll try to post pics of them later.

I ordered the 19 & 20mm sockets in the 3/4 drive and they showed up packed the same as yours.

On the flip side, the 20mm was made in the USA.

Anyone have experience with the Evolve impact sockets. Noticed they were made in Taiwan. The regular Craftsman impacts all made in China. My experience is Taiwan makes better tools. The big evolve set is on sale too.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-evolv-40pc-ultimate-impact-socket-set-1-2inch/p-00916943000P

Yep, I love mine (both SAE and metric set). Cheap (read: free with SYW points) and does the job for a weekend mechanic. I believe they lower the price to ~$15 for the 10 piece set every so often.

I am not professional so I am not using them daily.

The one thing to be aware of about Craftsman Evolv products is they don't have as lenient of a warranty as regular Craftsman products - with Evolv, you need to save your receipt to get stuff replaced.

Other than that, I've heard good things about many of their products, some even getting better reviews than the recent regular-Craftsman versions.
