On another topic, people making in-store and online purchases today, even with OOP spending, are still reporting not receiving any new offers/coupons with their receipt/order. It's been like this all week. Do post here whenever any of you start seeing the offer/coupon generation get back to normal.

I received some coupons in-store this last week. I think it was the typical $7 off $35, and something towards clothing. These came off a return :spit:

Placed an order just now for $40 OOP, not a single coupon/offer.

But why? I just spent $62 in points ($0 OOP) and received coupons for $4 off $20 in tools, $10 off $40, and $5 off $35. As I have mentioned I only spend OOP when there is a 100% cash back deal going on.

I also chatted and got price guarantees worth $10 in points yesterday. So I really got $40 back for the $30 I spent on the latest spend $30 get $30 deal! Today I received my third $10 installment on the $30 Hanes cashback deal. I have $13 in points now. Need to get it up to $35 by 6/23 so I can make another order with zero OOP. I still have $15 coming back on 7/1 as well. Hoping for good July 4 deals!

...

So this was an online order today? Hopefully this means things are going to be back to normal on offers this week.

As for why, the system that generates offers after purchases was apparently broken most of last week, just because things randomly break in Sears' systems on a regular basis and it can take them quite a while to fix them.

Apparently got several tool specific orders today, and pretty good at that. 12 off 35, 10 off 25 and the 5 from the email. The first two were tools and paint only.

The last part of my refund for the New Age cabinet was posted to my card this morning. It took 10 ten days and getting stern with customer service to get the full refund. My points did not go negative.

Got several of items for price match this morning. The first person I chat with took very long time to process one item. We then get disconnected :headscrat I connected back with someone else. Luckily this person knows whats going on, and just start going down the list quickly. I was told 7-10 days to get my points back.

Anyone had recent experience where Chat tells you that your matter is being escalated and they will contact you within 48 to 72 hours? Do they count weekends in that estimate?

I contacted Chat on June 14. Two ship to store orders were supposed to be delivered to local Sears Hardware. After orders placed store closing announced. I got separate emails claiming both orders ready for pickup. Sears Hardware claims items were never delivered to them and that they are not scheduled for any more deliveries before their June 30 final day.

It’s now past 72 hours with no further word from Chat.

After the 72 hours were up they sent me an e-mail saying that they needed an additional 48 hours to research the issue. Two days later I got an order canceled e-mail. This was started on a Monday, so I can't comment about the weekend issue.

I contacted Chat again. They told me the initial time quote for an escalated matter should be 3 to 5 days and that I would be contacted within a couple more days.

It's business days. Sears stores, their website, and their customer service are available on weekends, but customer service says that Saturday & Sunday do not count as business days. :rolleyes2

I am so fed up with companies misusing the term "business days" like that... it is not a synonym for "weekdays" like they keep misusing it for, at a 7-days-a-week business.

Anyone ever use sears.com without app on phone? I tried using safari. That was pretty lousy experience. I kept getting this dumb ad that I couldn’t turn off. I know their website is poor but this is a new low.

Anyone having issues using their points today? I go through all the process, but the points aren't being taken off my purchase price. I've tried logging out and logging back in. I have also tried using a different browser and it doesn't work. Anyone else experiencing this?

I did not try to purchase anything today, but earlier I notice that my points were showing different amount on Iphone and on computer.

Yea, tons of issues...they somehow expired all my points I redeemed today after I made the purchase. Used up 98k point on some thread restoration tools, just now saw my points balance is -98k....

Try changing the amount you're redeeming by a few cents. It sounds like there might be some extra problems going on today / last night, from the other comments, but there is an obscure long-term problem that makes some specific dollar amounts unredeemable. (For example - not an actual problem amount - you might not ever be able to redeem $13.07 worth of points, yet $13.06 might work fine.)

Oh I guess that explains why I have been charged a penny on a few recent in store purchases despite having enough points to cover the total.

Yeah, I'm not sure if that's part of the same problem or something else, but it happened to me on an in-store purchase a week or so ago too. Fortunately the cashier had a spare penny, since I don't normally carry change and didn't want to have to make them pay card processing fees that would surely exceed the penny (never thought about it much online, but prefer not to do that in person). Gonna have to start bringing a penny with me just in case, when making an in-store purchase.

Follow-up: Call the SYW this morning sorted it out. For some reason they expired my points early, but they got that corrected and i'm no longer negative.

Great

Here's a tip from 2manytools in the other thread: "If your Sears still has any, the Craftsman sharpening stone is $8.99, though replacement "Norton" is $24.99, and is the exact same Made in Mexico product."

I decided to go with this for my online order tonight:

Craftsman 5 in. Pliers, Locking Curved Jaw (#5WR)
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-5-in-pliers-locking-curved-jaw/p-00945717000P
$14.83 sale (from the 10% off all tools that ends tonight), $16.48 regularly

I've been watching it for a while as it's the last style of these locking pliers I didn't have yet, and haven't seen it go on sale at all except in broad 10% off sales like this.

I was able to use my $5 freecash offer expiring tonight, and regular points for the rest of the price, with no conflict with the 10% off sale since it is still treated as an up-front price reduction instead of a coupon online.

The 10% off sale did end Tue night as scheduled. This offer is still running through Jun 30: "Members get $50 CASHBACK in points when spending $125 or more on qualifying tools" (up to 2x per person, $100 max).

If you have an order cancelled, or make a return, make sure you check that you have received credit, and the correct amount of credit! I purchased a jacket back in February and I kept being told that they would investigate why it hadn't been delivered, and get back to me in 48 hours. I finally asked for them to cancel my order, but my jacket arrived a week later. I had already purchased a replacement, so I mailed the jacket back in May (yes, it took that long to ship!) I was charged $192, and I used $35 in points. My points were removed, putting me into the negative, and my credit card was refunded $162. I called and spent 45 frustrating minutes on the phone to resolve. The agent asked me to hold while he called the merchant, and I was then transferred to someone else. This person told me that he has no idea who I was speaking with, and that I would need to start over. I hung up and filed a dispute, I wasn't going to waste another 45 minutes of my life!

Another issue I just noticed, I cancelled an order that I didn't receive my points on. Glad I checked, because they did not reinstate the $35 in points I used, nor did they refund my $85. I have spent more time on chat lately than I have spent shopping.

Has anyone received their NewAge cabinet? Mine was scheduled to be delivered June 5, and I have asked a couple times for an update. I have been told that it has shipped and the order would be fulfilled. I checked in again today and asked an agent on chat to check on the delivery date for my cabinet, her response to me... June 5, lol.

My NewAge Cabinet was cancelled. I know some others had the same outcome.

What I figured, mine says it was shipped also, with a tracking number. The cabinet is still on the K-mart website, but no longer on Sears. I wonder if I should just ask for it to be cancelled.

How about engaging with the customer with a reply-able email. Nope, I get to call and wade through your menus to end up not getting the same service rep, then re-explain because he won't transfer otherwise, and then immediately realizes he needs/wants to transfer after hearing the situation. Good luck

My hometown stores is no longer carrying paint. All the spray paints were marked down to $.99. associate was unsure if this was nationwide, probably not.

With all these screw-ups, why do you guys even bother with Sears at all. Be darned if I would ever go through all their garbage. They aren't worth the headaches, time, frustration and having money ******* waiting for them to get their act together.

Just seems to be a total waste of time and effort to jump through all the hoops they put in your path.

Odd that yours got all the way to the point of having a tracking number, yet didn't actually ship... was it ever scanned in by UPS or whomever, or just sitting as 'the label has been generated'?

Not in the least if you saw how much I've recieved, and how little I have spent with them. And I know I'm no where near the top in thst category. More hassle in availability of items now, and whether they can be shipped for free to the store, if that by is even an option anymore.

Fully stocked on Craftsman garden tools: long/short digging/transfer shovels (x2 of all 4 models), pick/mattock, rapid digger, hand axe, rubber hoses (x12 at least), nozzels. A bunch of USA made bully tools like mud shovel, broadfork, multiples speciaty hoes.

Of course the garage is fully stocked too. I wouldn't have most of the tools I have if it wasn't for the Sears. Sure I'd have screw drives & pliers, but not nice Weras and Knipex, plus a bunch more I'd never think of getting.

Highly worth any issues for me.

Why do you even bother posting here at all. But I do want to thank you for staying away from Sears. More deals for all of us here. Now back to topic at hand :)

I can't answer for the rest*, but for me it's nostalgia. I grew up with SEARS. My first new bike, well first new one that I paid for with my own earned money as a kid. The bulk candy counter in the middle of the store, the Ted Williams fishing gear, the Christmas catalog, Hillary camping gear (no not her, I mean Sir Edmund), and of course my first tools were Craftsman. It's hard to let go of what was a lifelong friend or at least the memory of a friend. My original Sears store on Lawrence Ave. in Chicago is closed now and it saddens me still, even though I live over 900 miles away. I was told that my current Sears store is the most profitable in the DFW area and probably won't close until the whole chain does. Which is kind of ironic (that is if I understand the meaning of irony, which sometimes I don't) because the store that was there before Sears moved in was....wait for it...wait.....Montgomery Ward! :)

(* I said I couldn't but I'll try anyway.) Now all the rest of these guys here it's probably not really an old childhood love, but more like a fresh kill that hasn't died just yet but is writhing on the blood soaked ground trying to determine a survival strategy. These hyenas constantly find ways to turn those stategies against the poor animal by inflicting new wounds by working the "points" and "Free cash" offers just to benefit themselves. Why yes, I am Joe King.
To be honest I'm actually a hyena myself, because the Sears that I love is already dead, so I'm just in it for me as well.
