Have them hanging on the ceiling side-by-side. The reels work great, reels and retracts great, no fighting with it. Heavy duty cords. Metal reels. They take a lot of punishment, and continue to work great. I've been using them for about 2 years.

They raised the price of the reel while it was in my cart checking out.... I honestly wonder why sears keeps doing this. Apparently the price changes if you choose store pickup. I'm getting the price listed again but it is changing periodically...

The price of the Cord Reel just shot up to $43.90. The Work Light Reel is still at the discounted price of $30.75 - 10% for Firework, at least until someone tries to buy it
By removing the item and re-adding it to cart a few times, it seemed to fluctuate the price. I was eventually able to get it to add for the listed price and checkout. Choosing pickup in store was raising the price to the price listed as well. Just glad I finally got checked out with the correct price.

Mine showed 43~ but added to cart at the lower price and checked out at the lower price. YMMV ship to store made the price jump, so you gotta add a filler if u want to ship to home ($35)

I've been saying this for over a decade. That said, I occasionally try for a deal but with a crucial difference: I know if I don't get what I expected, just get my $ back and walk away.
Trying to call is a waste of time
Trying to reason w them is a waste of time
Trying to get them to honor a sale that's now over after THEY screwed up your initial order is a waste of time
Chasing points is a waste of time
IOW, just realize there is ZERO customer service and you won't be disappointed

I didn't place an order yet, but I was just chatting with a Sears rep, and he was going to honor the lower price. It was actually quite easy. I thought I would be able to use my $15 FC on $30, but they won't stack with the 10%. Then my brother walks in with two 50ft 12 guage extension cords. No, not on reals, but I decided against the Sears deal.
So, you may get lucky and chat with a representative.
I do go by IGN's philosophy of expecting nothing though, and that really applies most places.
Meanwhile someone on SD just reported a much worse result in a similar situation:
"I received the wrong item, and I wanted to reorder using the points and credit card that I had on the first order. It's 10 days out now... and, nothing. Chat, just tells me it'll be a few more days. They give me a completely different story each time. This is only a $20 item [as part of a larger order]... Plus, I find it crazy that they are crediting me back in mostly points, when I paid for this add on item, almost entirely on a credit card ..."
The inconsistency in situations like this is getting ridiculous, Sears.

I just experienced something similar, twice, with competitor price match purchases. I paid the final (competitor's) price with points, and the rest on a credit card, which I was told would be refunded immediately to my account. Sears used the nebulous term "your account" in the chat, which means SYW account, which I just found out automatically refunds points first. D'oh! I didn't catch that subtlety during the chat.
So I have to say, "Nicely played, Sears!" Yes, deceptive on their part, but lesson learned (be paranoid, ask very specific questions, look for very specific answers). Luckily the amounts were low, and I would have spent it anyway (at the competitor's store), so no real loss.
That said, I've actually been having a lot of fun with the Sears WinIt, Freecash, points system for the past year. I've had mostly good experiences and outcomes with store employees, managers and Chat help. And I'm very grateful for all the good deal posts and the positive input from forum members.

I have ordered a lot of stuffs from Amazon, Newegg, Sears, Kmart, Walmart, eBay, Dell etc etc. Big and small companies, big and small orders, personal and business orders. Every one of them has screwed up my order one way or another. Can you show me a perfect company?
Just because I have gotten my orders screwed up, does not means I am going to stop ordering from them, and miss out on great deals, but that is just me. Life is too short to hold a grudge
Believe it or not, from the many online orders that I have made (I have made a lot of orders believe me), Sears has screwed up less time than other companies. But from all of the interaction with them thru their chat, their CS have been awesome and helpful at fixing the problem. I do not think I ever wait more than a few min to chat with them, compare to 30 min to chat with Newegg CS.
I never call Sears, so maybe it is true that it is a waste of time. I am always baffled why one would call. Chat is so much more efficient, and you got proof of who said what when.
Obviously you think chasing points is a waste of time. I (and plenty of people here) do not agree with you on this and that is fine. Like I always said, less people jumping in on a certain deals, that means there are more for us

I got that socket adapter/extender set for $30 (before points/offers/etc) back in March. That is an excellent price for it.
It is a massive pain in the *** to get all the pieces out of the package, I think I posted about that after I got it. Once freed, the pieces all fit together and came apart well, except one that was overly snug until I connected/disconnected it several times with help from a jar gripper. But the hex bit adapter that came with the set just seems to be totally made wrong (I haven't managed to get a hex bit to stay in it, and it's not a regular hexagon shape, some sides are a bit longer/shorter than others). They aren't perfect, but the finish seems decent and I noticed no significant problems other than the deformed hex adapter.
The set includes several things that you can't get in any way at HF, and possibly some things that you can't get outside of this set at Sears (I don't remember for sure if there's any items in that category besides the useless hex adapter), and definitely a better deal than buying all the smaller adapter sets at Sears that this set includes.
I've had my eye on those for a while, they are known to go as low as $20, but it's been months. Despite the origin change, they are apparently still quite a bit better quality than Harbor Freight's comparable chisels, when I read the reviews a few months ago.

That's the lowest I've seen that, usually $29.99. It has come in handy for me on several occasions. I ended up selling in a garage sale for $30, and getting this set instead. The length on the hex sockets and the wobble extensions have been more helpful for me. Only issue with the first set was one of the bit portions detached from the socket part, warrant swapped.
$22.49 with the FIREWORK code is a smoking deal for this set! I recently gave 2 of these sets to friends whose tool collections were lacking. With the exception of the low tooth count ratchet and mediocre chrome finish, the quality is there. The torx sizes are complete (includes 27 and 47), hex are both metric and standard, and it includes etorx (my friends both have BMWs that need them).
I have that 24 piece reach set, and am very pleased with it. I previously had a ball-end hex set from HF, but the ball-ends had very little surface contact area with fasteners, causing occasional internal fastener stripping, and I had one ball-end snap off when I did get good bite. Reviews on their site revealed those being common issues, so I had HF swap them for a straight (not ball-end) set.
This Cman set has a flat area on the ball-ends that gives much more contact surface. I've had zero issues with fastener stripping or with ball-ends breaking off. The 2 longer 1/4" extensions aren't wobble-types, but the short wobble extension can be attached to either. Another great value, especially at $26.99 after the code!

You will not be able to build them up. They either will have a 14 or 30 days expiration.
I think I was in the same boat you are, when looking for a 3/8" set. For a long time I had plans to buy this Tekton 3/8" & 1/2" combo kit, until I realized it had a few combined SAE/metric sizes. I also was hoping for a 21mm in a 3/8" for my Toyota, so I could just keep my M12 Fuel 3/8" wrench in the truck. So I ended up getting this Gearwrench 44-piece, and its absolutely perfect. I snagged it for $56 or so on Amazon at Xmas. I had been wanting to get another through Sears, but they have not stocked it in almost 2 months now, since the price dropped to $60ish and it was gone.
The 3/8" comes in a nice, or rather standard case, where the set you are looking at is going to come in a box, maybe a in a bag in box. For how many double sizes you are going to end up with, and the extra weight, I'd look at the Gearwrench set, and maybe separate sets of higher sized 1/2" sockets.
The length of the no-stock status of this item has me worried a little bit as far as GearWrench supply goes. I figure it was dropped shipped from GearWrench, but shipping is unavailable. It's really the only GW item I've been looking at, so far from a good sample size.

The only things is that sears kit I don’t won’t use are the 1/2” deep standard/metric sockets and the wobble adapters, but the deep 1/2” will be replacing ancient HF sets. I want the 3/8” drive impact sets because I’m going to buy the Milwaukee m18 mid torque 3/8” impact when it becomes available. I’ll look around to see what else is available rather than this sears kit before the return period is up. If I could find 1/2” standard depth sets and both standard and deep 3/8” sets that’s really all I need.
That gearwrench 44 piece kit looks great too. If I purchased the 1/2” standard height sets separately that may end up cheaper than the sears set.

I ended up buying Sunex regular size 3/8 and 1/4 metric impact sockets, and these become my go to sockets. I am going to get impact driver eventually but for now they are just being used with ratchets. I have the deep sets in my need list to round up my collection
I have 1/2 Evolv sockets in regular and deep. These are great buy imo, but at 3/8 and 1/4 Sunex impact sockets seems better and thinner than Sears. Of course more expensive, but they should last a long time.
I do have a chrome set as well if those impact sockets happen to be too thick and cause problem, but so far they have been great.
I bought my Sunex sets at Sears, with points
@2manytools - agree that Gearwrench 44 piece looks good. I may have to keep an eye on that. My want list gets longer everytime I look here lmao. All of our cars are Toyota as well!

Sears computer ordering system is just too weird. My guess is they're just anticipating going out of business so aren't putting any effort into updating and fixing it.
I bought levis on the get $30 in points back, $15 now and $15 on July 15. Got the $15, and spent them on something else in 3 days. at the 7 day expiration date of the $15 in points, the system posted me a "pending to July 1, negative $15 in points, points expired". My balance didn't go down by $15, so I just continued onwards, got another $60 or so of points and spent them on a garage door opener, that had $125 in points ($15 now, $10 per month) and $50 next day. Then, placed another order for another garage door opener, using up more points and qualifying for the $50 in points next day offer, that could be used 3 times for a total of $150. Oddly enough, this order also in the confirmation email and final page qualified me for the $125 offer too, although it was restricted to one use. I had $125 OOP for each of the openers, which qualified me for the offers.
So, July 1 comes along and I get credited the $15 for the clothes offer, and then I get $15 deducted for expired points. One $50 and one $15 gets credited from the $50 + $125 offer. The second one doesn't credit the $50 it should, nor the $15 that it said I would get, but shouldn't have. When I check in the order status, it shows "Your points are pending, check back later"
I go on chat, and they can't figure out the expired pending points deal, but give me $15 in points. They can't help on the pending points that didn't credit, because the pending status gives them no details to work from. They give me a toll free number to call during business hours, and said the points might credit soon as the pending is resolved. The weird thing is that the points don't show as pending in my points history, all the other ones did.
The strange thing, from my standpoint is that I keep doing this to myself! The deal on the two garage doors was that I could use points effectively to get the price down to $5 under what the local Ace store sells the identical one for on sale this week. The bonus to me was the points coming back in the next year, as well as the lump sum coming to me on July 1. That $50 twice, plus $15 and a $20 off retailmenot discount and the $15 points from the clothes deal would have given me the third opener I needed for almost free if it had worked correctly. Now, with them shorting me $50, it's not quite as good a deal. We'll see if it credits in the next day or so.

I had a similar expiring points issue. I got the $30 on $30 clothing purchase. I received $15 in points on June 12. I spent them on June 16. All looked fine until last week I scrolled through my points history and noticed $15 expired June 19. Funny thing is that I had placed an order using more points on June 23, which according to the points history made my points go negative.
So the expiration of $15 in points happened last week but in the account history it showed them expiring June 19.
Anyway, chatted with customer service and they gave me $15 in points back.
Now, instead of $80 in points, I have $95 to spend!
Moral of the story, keep track of your points because they may expire retroactively in error on you.

Selecting store pickup made it jump from $59.99 to $79.99... maybe I'll see if picking a different store keeps it at $59.99.
Update - Choosing to pick up at a Sears Hardware store kept it at $59.99... choosing any other Sears store makes it jump to $79.99.

I went and checked my history because I took advantage of the same offer. Sure enough the same thing happened, in my case the points expired the same day I used them and took off 15$. I never would have caught it if I hadn't seen your post. I just called SYW, and got the 15000 point back, almost to easily, as if they know about the issue.
They “deposited” $65 worth of points into my account today, so the $231 on my impact set is now $166.
I’ve been looking at other impact socket sets in 3/8. Sunex has a comprehensive 3/8” set including universals for $159 and one similar to the gear wrench kit for $70. I own a few Sunex universals for 3/8 and 1/2, they seem well made. The problem with some of this is that if I go with Sunex or Gearwrench in 3/8 I’ll want their master sets in 1/2” standard and metric too, costing me another $250. I really like the range of those Sunex 1/2” sets, out to 1-1/2”. The last time I was installing a hitch ball on my truck I needed 1-1/4” that I didn’t have
Looking at this again, I could get all the Sunex to be equivalent to the sears set for $258 but with expanded range on the 1/2” by 3 sockets standard, 2 sockets metric (plus 10 sockets total), and losing only the 3/8” drive 1/4” sockets
If I have any doubts with the sears set, back it goes.
