I wouldn't sweat the Chinese ratchet. USA lightly used are out there for pretty cheap. I got one of the $100 Chinese 3/4 sets during the last sale, just wasn't impressed by the socket and ratchet quality. Went on OfferUp and a few days later scored old 2006 USA set that looked to have never been used for $85 and ended up selling the Chinese set for $150 on eBay.

I do plan to flip it... I buy the new foreign CMan stuff (usually with mostly points), sell on eBay, then buy older quality USA at local Estate Sales... lol.

I know my local sears is supplying Chinese made Hanson pencils now, so if you see these old wood USA craftsman ones, they are officially NOS. I like em alot at this price, free if you have the points.

Yep, my local Sears switched to some yellow carpenter's pencils without the Craftsman brand a few months ago, probably those Hansons. I don't normally use that kind of pencil, so I hadn't bought any previously, but I would've at least gotten one or two for the sake of the branding if I'd known the old ones were going away.

A few weeks ago Sears Hometown stores had the Craftsman pencils listed on there website so I ordered a container of 10 pencils with the sharpener. The yellow Hanson pencils made in China are what came in. I refused the order and got my money refunded.

Sears is so bad about reusing SKUs when products significantly change design in addition to country of origin, and not even updating the product photos. (It should be a whole new product listing, with correct photos, since the old reviews no longer apply.) Not just about pencils, seen them do the same exact thing with pricier items repeatedly. :(

I ordered a pair of Craftsman ignition pliers off Sears website. My wrench shipped and delivered, but my pliers didn’t. I asked and they said that UPS “lost the package”. Also said they were out of stock. Sorry, no pliers, but Eddie Lampert is having lunch with the money you paid for them. Thanks Sears, your a great help. No wonder their going under.

I guess I got lucky. I got mine a couple of weeks ago. It took about a month longer to get it than it was supposed to, but I did get my pliers and made in USA.

Ya they are very good quality, my local carries them, but they NEVER and I mean NEVER go less than $11.99. They have been in my wish list for over a year. They are still made in USA.

-The Great

Even on 10%-off days? Either way, get them while you still can. :)

What was the price when you ordered? Thought it was $16.99 yesterday, it's now $20.99, but I may be misremembering.

Thanks.

I am not 100%, but thought it was $17. I did not order it (already ordered something else when I got the email). I was just posting it here thinking that now it is available for order, it is a pretty decent deal if you need one.

Like what @captain14 said, price must have changed since then.

1/2" Evolve Impact Set I hadn't noticed before. 40 pc. metric/sae/deep/std - $50.49

the picture is horrible

Mayhew Dominator 58 in. Curved Pry Bar - $62.99 (lower than Amazon ever)

I also picked this Craftsman 8 in. Locking Flex Pry Bar up at a Hometown store for $10.99 earlier this week. I had wanted another of those Craftsman Professional stubby (7 or 8") pry bar that was only available as a single, but they haven't re-appeared. Probably better to have this, rather than another of the non-flex.

I have 36 in pry bar, but been wanting to have 58 in. I am not even sure what I am going to use it for. One of those if I have the points and nothing else to buy haha... I hang them all on the pegboard the other day, and my wife just give me the look :lol_hitti

That is great that your Hometown store has that flex pry bar, even has better price than online! The local Hometown here does not carry them.

I have the stubby CF Pro bar. I use it a lot more than I thought I would. I may grab another one if it reappears.

EDIT: I just realize the 58in is cheaper than the 36in model :headscrat What a deal here if you need one.

FYI... Sears is now selling more than 3 Knipex items, again (16 now... I think... up from 11 earlier today)... so fingers crossed that trend continues.

thanks. make me feel better, even if the one pair I want isn't there. With the randomness of what is available now, I feel good about the future. Could always use another pair of 10" cobra's

Sweet, the Amazon reviews confirm it is apparently the same as the Craftsman version. Apparently both the Wilde and Craftsman versions were made by Western Forge, so it's another casualty of the the Craftsman/Western Forge breakup a year ago. (Which confirms that if you still have the Craftsman version in your area, when they're gone, they're gone.)

I have some Amazon gift card money I've been slowly deciding how to spend, so I'll add that to the cart.

Went to a really weird Hometown the other day. More china than the average Sears making me think it was a wasted side trip, until I found a TON of these gimbals. On clearance for 75% off. Of course I got every one they had. Let me know if anyone wants one.

If you come across one at a hometown they are on super clearance since they are no longer listed on the Sears website at all.

I think I saw a few in my HT store. I want to say $12 or so for the set. I already have them, and probably don't need more.

I know I posted this before, but just want to make sure you guys don't get ripped off if you ordered those NewAge cabinets that were mostly all cancelled. I have chatted multiple times, and of course, told my issue would be "escalated" but I still have not received my refund on my CC for the cancelled order! That was months ago. I'm giving them one more shot at getting it done, and if not, I hope it's not too late to dispute the charge. UGH Sears, I really think I am done :(

Looks like it is back to what is was before the massive drop for Knipex selection. I noticed a bunch of insulated sockets showing up in a search of mine, and figured I'd give it a whirl. 345 awesome results from Sears

Thank You.
1st time I ever saw them.
Are they handy?

They are nice if they are around, like a lot of tools. I think you have a better feel for how tight some fasteners get because the torque is applied directly over the bit/socket. They spin very nice and in certain situations will tighten/loosen faster than a ratchet would because of clearance issues.

Worth checking out I'd say.

EDIT - This is not a deal, I'm just posting about how they mis-classified this vacuum for the points discount.

So I was browsing the "Automotive Speciality" section, and came across this vacuum marked down to less than $10...

https://www.sears.com/wet-dry-auto-vacuum/p-SPM10464189308

Then I noticed the "Spend $40 get $15 back in points"??? I click to read the fine print and it says, "Get $15 Cashback in points when you spend $40 on clothing."

LOL... Don't know how they mis-categorized a 12v vacuum... lol...

I just bought that vacuum and it's an absolute piece of garbage! I'm surprised, since Sharper Image is usually decent stuff.

yeah, i bought 4 pairs of jeans for $42 and got the $15 and the $25 for masterpass, so 4 pairs of jeans for $2 something and $40 in points to use.

had to go over $35 for free shipping so the $40 was a nice price point.
