I think we should change the name of this thread. I haven't seen a deal or clearance related post in the past 4 pages of posts. I'm getting tired of reading about everyone posting to say they are waiting on points or that their order is pending...
------------

Not much of anything coming up online for new low prices. The first "deal" of the new year was that $20.19 cashback in points offer.

Even my local store's clearance section was picked clean by Christmas. If you can find random Gladiator stuff lying around, then you can get a clearance price. Like the tracks are about $3.50 each.

Whenever I see this on sale, I zoom in on this photo and wonder whether the exposed portion of the socket defeats the purpose of having plastic sleeves. :headscrat

Dunno about the other sockets, but for the one socket that I own (3/4" x 13/16"), the exposed portion/middle portion has smaller diameter than the plastic portion.

Incase anyone is wondering, this socket (I only own 3/4" x 13/16" below) with plastic sleeves seems well made. I got mine and used it over the weekend. Very happy with the product. I can now stop using duck tape on my impact socket

3/4" x 13/16" (single socket) $6.99. You need 1/2 extension to use this.
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-1-2...lerId=SEARS&prdNo=16&blockNo=16&blockType=G16

Full set $23.99
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-4pc...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=7&blockNo=7&blockType=G7

Yep, I bought the single socket back during F&F 15% off and combined with the $5 off $50 coupon, so I got it for $5.48.

not a steal or anything, but heres a decent price for a large ratcheting wrench. my 20-pc GW set only went up to like 3/4"

GearWrench 1 in. Flat Full Polish Ratcheting Wrench $15.96

Good deal. Similarly, I price-matched a bunch of individual sizes to Home Depot & Menards (when they had them clearancing out). Added to my main set, and for a bit was able to fit the extras in the existing plastic case, but way past that now. Had to invest in some dedicated wrench holders. Only wrench I would like now is a 6-sided hitchball. Don't need, but for completion sake

Looks like 5% off of tools even current sale prices.

eehh... nothing that jumps out that makes me want to spend my points...hopefully we will have better sale in the near future.

I am going to bed

I'm jumping on what I can, while I can, especially since the points I'm getting expire within a week...

I wonder how many sub $25 tools I'll be able to buy that have local pickup options...and for how long I'll be able to do it...

That's about what you can buy them for at Advanced Auto if you use discount codes

Do they take Shop Your Way points there? That's most of the reason people are buying through Sears in this thread, with most buying items they really don't need at this point but have points to burn. Not really a thread to find items cheaper elsewhere.

Well, I'm here buying tools that are a good deal and I don't have or use too many points, and since there is actually a thread called "Shop Your Way".......

Not ideal being incandescent, but looks like it might be a standard-base bulb so you could swap it out with an LED bulb easily.

I went with this tonight:

Craftsman 3pc extra-long cold chisel set
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc-cold-chisel-set/p-00943112000P
$20.89 sale, $25.99 regularly

This set has been on sale cheaper in the past, but it's been something like 9 months.

No idea if I'll ever need the extra length, but I've collected so many of their punches/chisels already, I might as well complete the set since it's still available in my area. (Now I just need the roll pin punch set, and one center punch.) Even the Chinese-produced punches/chisels seem to be dwindling now, as these and several others are no longer available for shipping if your local store has run out of them.

So it seems the plastic protection would work better if you use the side of the flip-socket with the larger size.

Since the Sears selection is dropping, I may end up using my points on the set.

Not really a deal but thought this might be useful, I know several of us ordered International box a few weeks ago. Mine is the 56in top box. On demarlogistics site, my shipping progress shows "At delivery terminal - Pending appointment" as of 12PM today.

I just got a call from a local company who asked if he can deliver my box on Monday :bounce:

Expected delivery date is 1/14, so they are well ahead of the schedule.

I know some are tired of hearing "I received" posts so sorry I guess (incidentally I encourage you to use the Ignore List function - click my user name TO User Lists TO Ignore List TO "yes") but I received an orange 42" yesterday.

Then today I got another call from FedEx Freight and got two 56's, a 42, a 27 and a 26 (one of the latter two is a Cman). I'm really surprised at the weight of these boxes, International didn't skimp on sheetmetal gauge or construction apparently.

I met the freight guy at the pavement as he'd get stuck at my place.

I also received a notice that two 42's are available for in-store pickup (the black ~$99 each ones)

Again, bummer if this bothers you but I think discussion of the deals is fine AND it is NOT unreasonable for any of us to wonder if we will receive *anything* we order from Sears given the state of affairs. Furthermore I would say FREIGHT items are even more suspect than something that goes in a little box UPS (and I'm serious about the Ignore List thing - I'd be flattered, really. I contribute very little to this thread as I don't feel adept w Sears' website and SYW)

Oh and even more OT: those little skids seen at driver's front of my bed? Ridiculously heavy for what they are, and they're painted "SPG" LOL. They weigh more than most 48x48" pallets, not kidding.

Congrats on your successful huge order, Ign, and thanks for sharing your experiences. :)

Every couple months or so, someone comes along grousing that the regulars in this thread dare to discuss aspects of dealing with Sears that the griper doesn't appreciate the value of, instead of a steady stream of nothing but links to things to buy. If they want more deal links, I wish they would just find and post them themselves (unaccompanied by remarks trying to get people to stop conversing) instead of trying to drive people away. Nothing is a hot deal if the company might never deliver it, or go under before you get your points-back from it, or whatever other crazy way Sears manages to screw up.

Speaking of which, there is now a court hearing scheduled for next Tuesday 1/8, which could trigger liquidation if Eddie doesn't increase his bid.

i think reviews should def be fair game in threads like this--what good is a deal if it isnt worth buying? had i heard from ^^^skeptic before i bought that reel light i might have saved for the pro version. but to be fair i gave $23.99 in points for it then price protected to 19.99 then when it went down to 18.99 last night they gave me an additional $10 back. so i have only $9.99 in points in it ;)

ign: im sure if you wanted to post up some pics of those cabinets--for review's sake, of course :p --that other people could benefit from it. ive got two CM labeled SPGs and one regular International and am surprised with the quality. all were powdercoated and the tower feels better quality than my waterloo made CMs (which were painted)

and as for posting deals only in here--lets be honest, sears is pretty tapped out right now, post christmas.

The SPG International tool box sale at Sears was one of those once in a lifetime opportunities. I was lucky enough to get a 42” top and bottom and I have another 42” bottom that is shipped but not yet delivered. Congrats to all who were fortunate enough to get one or more (looking back I should have bought more).

I am definitely biased here since I am a DIYer but I totally agree.

Most of my tools are bought sight unseen since the local hometown do not carry most of the stuffs I bought. I never seen a Knipex before and yet I bought ~15 of them. Only reason I bought them with confident is because someone here said this is a good tool to have

And yes Sears is pretty tapped out. I am having a hard time using my $25 MasterPass points.

every time i start to get in a bind i tell myself something like, "hey, why not just pick up a pair of jeans to roll around under the car in too?" just got some wranglers in from kmart and they were surprisingly comfortable so my next purchase will be a pair of wrangler shirt-jacket flannels
$14.99. not a great deal, but definitely great filler

Burned off many expiring points in the past on Levi, Lee jeans but with the current state of Sears with no inventory or delayed ship to store its just not worth my time.

Nice!

I only have hometown Sears. In the past I have Kmart nearby but it closed. I used to buy socks, tshirts, underwear for the kids, paper towels etc when it was still open.

I agree.
What bothers me, is that he's trying to make us think that (he) is in North Dakota. I know AZ when I see it (Well, I think I do, but sometimes I see stuff that isn't really there :pimpflash :wtf: )...but yeah, I miss more of the item bargain listings... but I think the information on getting stuff is part of the process here, especially this late in the Sears game. It's not a bargain if it's not showing up and nobody wants to be the guy that ordered $tuff and then got the Sears doors closed on him the next day. Ign isn't going on my ignore list...but I'll just say he is so that he feels flattered.

Ign! you brother, are going on my ignore list!!!

Damn depressing.

Last time I set foot in Sears was about 4 months ago. I went specifically because I figured I probably wouldn't get another chance to set foot in one after that one closes (it's now closed). I went and looked around, scavenging for any last remaining items I had any desire to own. I even remarked to the clerk who asked if he could help me find anything "Nope, just looking for probably the last time" haha.

Ended up with a couple hammers (love their Vaughn hammers) and...that's about it.

Odd that people get depressed about this. Only thing I am kinda pissed about is my 200$ or so points I have coming that seemed to have stopped coming. Sears has been dying my whole life. I was born in the early 80's and Sears never had great stuff besides a couple's years of the pro stuff they had. Seems early 80's is when their power tools started going to ****. I for one have different reasons to be depressed mainly due to everyone I grew up with now being dead but not because of sears.

Someone is going to post the final Sears deal... will it be this?!?

Craftsman 9" Magnetic Torpedo Level - $4.99

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-9-in-magnetic-torpedo-level/p-00939829000P

The one I picked up yesterday is Made in China... but seems reasonably accurate (based on an unscientific comparison to a larger Johnson level)... and I don't think it's ever been cheaper.

Online Price Only... but available for shipping... and free in-store pickup. And it's not a Hot Buy... so coupons would work (combined with more stuff).

Sad to see that someone would have no compassion for 80,000 people who work for Sears and will lose their livelihood, and for a lot of people who service Sears and will lose their incomes.

I remember when people actually cared about their fellow men. Sad.

Odd that they couldn't find another job or source of income. If I lost my job I would get a new one. Lots of things people are willing to pay other people to do. I lost my compassion for people when I was homeless in socal 2001-2004 and wake up early walk 5 miles to the free sandwich line only be denied a free sandwich because I had no id. Not being able to get an id because I had no address. Didn't have an address because I didn't have a job. Couldn't get a job because I had no Id. I did manage to get one lady to give me a water so I could make the 5 mile walk back to the tunnel. I did manage to make it across the boarder though the back parking lot of a empty building and got a job in Mexico at a veterinary clinic cleaning up things. Got 5$ per day and lunch.
