Incase anyone looking for something to buy with MasterPass $25 and $10 in points from a while back. Maybe not the best deal/price, but this Greenlee 7 pc screwdriver seems to have pretty good review at Amazon. $39.96 - $5 off $35 retailmenot coupon.

https://www.sears.com/greenlee-7-pc...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

Just make sure to pay attention to the pick up date. With how it is with Sears, your local store may not be open for long.

EDIT: Got my International 56in top box delivered yesterday. Everything is good, the box arrived safely in one piece. This thing is massive, and it looks even much larger in my cramped 20x20 garage.

My untrained eyes says it is well built. Drawers are smooth. Not sure how thick the metal is but should be able to hold enough weight for me. Only complaint I have is that the box is missing a handle on each side to help pick up the box - no biggie, I am not moving this box often, if ever. Also it does not have a handle to lift the top lid.

Urgh... I hope the local hometown store keep going, not sure as what though... I just hate to see those folks (or anyone in general) lose their jobs. They have been nothing but nice to me and my wife.

This reminds me of 2008 crash when I lost my job..

With the news this morning it really doesn’t matter because Sears is now dead.

Not necessarily, they are still considering bids and various options. Per the announcement, Lampert is revising the bid. Even if his bid is not accepted, it will be at least February before the court decides whether to liquidate, and then an auction after that.

So no, not dead, at least for another month or so, and more likely several months at worst.

Meanwhile, the local Sears store is "remodeling" by shuffling around the appliance and mattress departments.

I guess that's one way to stop having too many employees just standing around.

A deal for the pry bars from India? :lol_hitti

Craftsman 3pc.Pry Bar Set $14.99

Reviews indicate that that bars might not come quite straight. Still functional enough for prying. I just bought a set to use up my points for probably my last Sears purchase ever.

harbor freight set is only $10.99 so Sears price might actually be too high. Harbor Freight might even be better quality at this point. https://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-heavy-duty-pry-bar-set-1654.html

Plus, you can use a coupon to get them lower at harbor freight.

BTW, Eddie Lampert is making a revised bid so the lights are not quite out at Sears.

When I usually use my pry bars, I am leaning with a lot of force. I am willing to give it a benefit of doubt here, but if the bar is not quite straight when brand new, I dunno if I want to lean on it. If it breaks, I potentially can hurt myself.

Hopefully they arrive straight and the one's in the reviews are just outlier defects.

I could always exchange with lifetime warranty if Lampert resurrects sears. My local store is closing so I don't think they are an option now.

Thanks for the advice.

Sad to see that someone would have no compassion for 80,000 people who work for Sears and will lose their livelihood, and for a lot of people who service Sears and will lose their incomes.

I remember when people actually cared about their fellow men. Sad.

Lot of People **** Today, I cant even get anybody from My Facebook "Friends" to drive me to The Damn DMV to get a New title. They Know how to "Click Like Though" Those damn "Likes" arn't doing me any good.

bubinga - looks like Uber has service available in your area.

As for Sears, Eddie has been given until tomorrow afternoon to come up with $120 million in cash to stay in the game. Still no idea when things will actually get shut down.

Just want to add that if I need a ride on weekdays lets say between 8am-5pm, I am not sure I can find a friend who can do this. Everyone that I know here is working, and I definitely do not want them to take a time off work just to give me a ride.

+1 for Uber. Good luck bubinga!

Wife just got back from picking up my stuffs at local hometown Sears. It does NOT have store closing signs

I took a look in the regular part of the store when I went to pick up an order at my Sears this evening. Was hoping some of the stuff that's back at full price online would have an unadvertised in-store sale, but I didn't see much on sale there either. A few tools still had their sale tags up from the sales that ended 2 weeks ago, so if your store happened to slack off similarly, you should be able to get a cashier to still sell you one of those items at the outdated sale price. (Of course they didn't do that on any of the things I was looking for today.)

I was surprised to notice that my store still has a full peg of the prybars with strike caps, all still US-made. A reviewer says they're made by Wilde. No price tags posted on their peg at all at my store; online they're on sale for $24.99, regularly $39.99.

Despite there being half a dozen of them in stock at my store, online it acts like they have none, except at one little Sears Hardware 60+ miles away. :dunno:

I believe I also saw this multi-bit screwdriver set on sale for $8.99 in-store. Online it's on sale for $9.99. Full price of $27.99 is absurd on it, but the sale price is good. A reviewer bought it on sale for ~$15 a few months ago.

I tried to order those a few weeks ago and got cancelled.
Not only do they have to have them in stock, but the auto center guy has to be willing to go get them and fill the order.
how big was your order? i thought about ordering a good bit for our truck shop for store pick up (shipping not available for lots of sizes but pick up is), having a truck swing by a sears, and piggybacking one of my points orders on top to get a better selection of items i cant get shipped and too far to drive otherwise ;)

Sounds like the auto dept is so flaky about fulfilling orders that you might want to try calling your intended store just before ordering, to verify which sizes they have in stock and confirm that they will actually sell them to you.

nah, i just checked and they all have future pick up dates, meaning they arent in stock in store its just a ship to store. it would have to be corp/dc that would cancel the order. hmmm...this requires some planning tomorrow...

Just picked up my shark saw... Seems nice.
Was going to order a second blade but couldn't find the right one. On my way to Sears now for the 10 pc screwdriver set.

I got my SharkSaw a couple days ago too (finally!). It is a 'Sears Authorized Supplier'-shipped item, which generally means the manufacturer, so I was surprised/amused to see its box was packed with a newsprint grocery store ad instead of factory-grade packing material.

Yep, same here. Jon's marketplace from September. Also curious why I got a 12" blade instead of 10.5".

I ordered a bunch of the wiper blades early this morning to use up all my points and some cash. All showed in stock at my local store. As soon as the store opened, they cancelled the order. Blades were on a different floor and they didn't want to take the time to get them.

Actually a different company and probably building, wipers are Sears Automotive, you probably ordered from Sears.com, a different company. The auto centers are concessions, so although you can order online at sears.com from sears auto and other third party vendors, they are not actually shc companies.
