Well, that ***** to hear that the managers are clueless. I should have figured that out myself though, there are always the same employees standing outside the pickup door smoking. It doesn't matter how long I am in the store, the same ones are usually always there. I can't imagine paying employees to smoke for hours every day. It will save me some money if they keep selling Chinese tools.

Yeah, there are some hilarious/weird/bad product descriptions out there from third-party sellers whose first language is probably Chinese.
(translation is probably supposed to be something like 'copper air output', 'thick hose', 'electronic pressure gauge', 'polished handle', 'shock protection housing', 'release valve', 'air input')
It is surprising to see so many reviews on a Sears third-party seller product... that's more than many actual Sears products have. The early reviews were pretty unhappy but it seems to have improved.

Looking on Amazon, any kind of product like this is $30+ so this may be a good deal. I have $13 expiring tonight and I may use it on this. I've got 84 minutes to decide. Does anyone know what happens if you use points that will expire and then return the product, do you get your points back? Or are they just gone?

Not sure, I know I ordered two different size wiper blades, But they cancelled one of the sizes, and got my points back.
Then *I* cancelled the other size, and got the points back.
(Now, the whole order was paid with points, so maybe that had an effect)
Clint hopefully already spent his points on *something* before they expired last night. It does sound like the crazy-translation air tool is a good deal.
For future reference, you do get regular points back if you return (or cancel) an item bought with points... they come back with the same expiration date as before if their expiration date has not already passed, or with a new expiration date at least 2 weeks in the future if they would have already expired by the time you do the return. But you don't get coupons back at all, and you only get freecash surprise points back if their expiration date has not already passed.

Thanks for the points clarification. I did spend my points, but decided on going with the 1/4", 3/8/", 1/2" Pinless universal impact swivel sockets. They were down to $44, and I used the aformentioned retailmenot $5 coupon to get it down to $39 and then used $15 in points. I'll pay $25 all day long for those pinless sockets.
I did actually by the same air inflator/gauge on ebay for $13 last night. There are a few people who sell it. Plus I don't have to worry about points or anythign if I don't like it.

That's a third-party seller listing. It did the same thing when I tried it. I don't know if that's intentional scamminess or an accidental glitch, but it's definitely got the wrong product tied into that product page for that cheapest seller's listing. (A major company's product for 90% off what everybody else is selling it for... too good to be true!) Not eligible for points usage though.

For that one, it says "Added on October 21, 2010". Might be an outdated photo, but generally in the past I received USA-made for "Craftsman Professional Use".

According to SD, there is now apparently a coupon code "BIGDEAL" that will give you 20% off clothes/shoes/accessories on Sears.com, good today 2/16 only. Not sure where they found that, I don't see it mentioned anywhere on Sears.com. The advertised code "SAVENOW" only give 15% off clothes (and 10% off home), and also expires at the end of today 2/16.

I would like to get a set of the Craftsman hole saws, but can't get them where I live. That HF set isn't worth the $8. I bought the HF set. I tried cutting a 2" hole in a 1/2" thick piece of MDF. The teeth burned off half way through.
Yeah, MDF is denser than most natural woods. The cheap HF set is fine for most soft woods, and I think the cheap Craftsman set is comparable, as I mentioned. I went with the HF bi-metal set personally, when I got some years ago, much more durable but more expensive. The Craftsman bi-metal set is no longer available except for a few scattered stores.

Hexen mentioned it being denser than natural wood, but don't forget all the glue you are cutting through. I'm sure the blades are on the low end to begin with, but mdf is going to have the most binding agent in it compared to say plywood or osb, which is what clog the teeth causing burnout much faster

First saw it on SD this morning. Then I checked out my store in person this afternoon (didn't buy anything yet, just looking around) and saw they had a copy of a new Sears ad (for Presidents' Day weekend) taped up in the entryway, and it shows the texting thing in a sidebar.
Other noteworthy findings from my visit:
Vaughan has, hopefully just temporarily, stopped supplying hammers to Sears. (They've made most of the Craftsman hammers for many years, and until now had continued despite all the financial turmoil.) My store's extensive hammer selection is now about 80% empty hooks.
The cheapo Craftsman hole saw kit, overpriced at Sears, IS actually still available in-person in my mall store - 2 in stock. The website only shows it available for pickup at a couple franchise stores way far away. So if anyone really wants it (just don't expect too much from it), try looking in person even if the website says it's not there.
The garden hand tools section had been half-empty for quite some time, the nice-but-pricey Craftsman loppers/pruners/spades/etc having gradually disappeared. Now that empty wall has been re-filled with a bunch of Stanley Accuscape products I don't recall seeing before! Nice-looking handles, stainless steel blades, titanium coating, lifetime warranty, and lower prices than what I recall seeing on the Craftsman equivalents in the past. $7-$25. These don't seem to be on the Sears website at all yet, other than a couple third-party-seller listings.
I don't know how your local store got away without restocking their Lawn & Garden department for so long, because stores around here started stocking Stanley items about mid-2018.
Search for Bond Manufacturing on the Sears site.
Just noticed I can't view www.bondmfg.com anymore (EDIT: worked in another browser), but there is a Stanley site. Before the Kmart stores closed down, I remember seeing Bond garden tools being sold there.

I don't look at that area that often - it had become a waste of time since it had been mostly empty pegs and junk from India for so long - so maybe I missed that stuff being there a few months ago.
Thanks for finding the website listings, I knew that was who made them for Stanley but hadn't realized Sears would be so obtuse as to list them that way instead of under the advertised brand. (They can't be found by searching for 'Stanley' or 'Accuscape', but they took the time to let us know "The product is intended for outdoor use and does not include lights or batteries." and "There are no special restrictions on this product." on every one of 'em.

Funny enough I bought this same one a couple weeks ago in store and used a $5 in store coupon. I chatted with rep and they said they have no way to look it up because it was in store even tho it was under my SYW account. So i have still not been able to get my $1 back

Greenlee seems to make great stuffs (have a few things from this brand and been happy with them). I was trying to hang new lights in the bathroom. The screw was high up and recessed. It was just in ackward position, and after a few times dropping the screws, I remembered I have this screwdriver in my tool box. It was really handy to have and saved a few curse words
I've been through that before... you can only price-adjust online purchases in the online chat, you have to go back to the store - with your physical receipt - to price-adjust an in-store purchase. (That is why I haven't been doing as many in-store purchases as I used to, when not forced to by an in-store-only coupon.) It was a complete waste of time to try to do the adjustment in-store, the couple of times I attempted it. First they have to call over a manager, which can take a while just for that, and at least at my store the manager is usually kinda grouchy about it (they prefer to hide in the back office as much as possible). Then the in-store price-adjustment system is much stingier and stricter than the chat stuff. The way I ran into a rep a couple weeks ago not wanting to adjust on this because I'd used a coupon, but then they were back to not caring about coupons this week? Well, in-store the register system forces them to always care about coupons. And when I did the second attempt months later, I hadn't used a coupon, but I had used freecash surprise points IIRC, and it ran into the same problem. Big waste of time while they fiddled with a bunch of screens on the register only to come away with nothing.

I also have the Greenlee electrical cable cutter and the conduit reamer (which is also kinda a screw-holding driver for slotted-heads), from Sears.
