FWIW...this might be a mislabeled item. pic shows 5pc and item # corresponds with 5pc, but it lists 7pc multiple times in the body and the 5- and 7pc part #s are only 1 digit off so it might be worth rolling the dice if someone wanted to try it. if its the 7pc for this price thats much better than the $40 on amazon

Greenlee SCREWDRIVER SET $25.48

...
I see the Greenlee screwdriver set is in stock at my store, will try to remember to take a look the next time I'm in there. I'd be surprised if it's really 7pc, but who knows.

Okay, here's the verdict. My store actually has the 5pc set AND the 7pc set of Greenlee screwdrivers in stock right now. They are two separate products, and the one you were looking at is definitely the 5pc set, despite the mistakes in the product page details.

I was at local Hometown Sears yesterday. I did not see any tool box on clearance. I understand YMMV, and agree the price ^^ is really good.

I bought 56in International top box at the end of last year, and kinda regret not getting two them. I under estimated how many tools I have bought from Sears :)

I hope they will have more boxes on clearance, preferably a top box because I have shelvings on all sides of my garage but I am not picky if the price is right

Sears is having online-only "Spring Cyber Deals" 4/21-4/23. Here are the participating tools. The $11.69 screwdriver bit set is a good deal if you don't already have it; really nice case, and the Speed-Lok adapter is worth $10 by itself.

" Online only. Extra 10% off select tools and lawn & garden sold by Sears. Reflected in price shown
Expires on 04/23/2019
Excludes Clearance, Everyday Great Price, Hot Buy, Smart Buy, and Unilateral Pricing Policy (UPP) items. "

Also, the 'Tax Day' sale has turned into a 'Tax Month' sale, but only on appliances and such (not tools).

" Tax Day Event! Extra 12% off appliances, floor care & environment. Reflected in price shown.
Expires on 05/03/2019
Valid on items marked sold by Sears and/or Marketplace except where indicated. Excludes Thor Kitchen appliances, Smart Buys, Introductory Offers, Member Deals, Deal Flash, Hot Buys, Everyday Great Price items, clearance, and closeout items except where indicated in store or online. Also excludes certain Sears licensed partners and websites, digital services, catalog orders, gift cards, money orders, wire transfers, commercial orders or previous purchases, appliance install parts & accessories, floor care accessories, sewing machines, disposers, range hoods, compact refrigerators, wine chillers, ice makers, compactors & accessories, water softeners, water heaters and water filtration. I don't know about that one customer review. :headscrat

"I have the Gearwrench and Crescent versions of the double X. And these are the best. They are the strongest of the three. There is no flex in the handles when you squeeze hard. With the other two, you get some flex."

Craftsman 2-PC DOUBLE JOINT PLIERS SET $25.99

No ship-to-store option. Either ship it, or pickup from an in-stock location.

I got the last of the Crescent set from Sears on clearance in my area a couple years ago. They're great, but maybe that guy can squeeze harder than me. :dunno:

The issue with the China Craftsman version is the tips are much fatter/blockier than the Crescent version, probably because they used metal that isn't strong enough to be that thin. If you don't mind the tip size, they're probably fine.

Oh, and all of these China Craftsman pliers in that style seem to be on their last legs availability-wise. I got the last one of the extra-wide-mouth pliers at my store a couple months ago, and they still have no way of getting more. Sounds like the same situation with the double-joint pliers - they are having one of the stores that still has some in stock ship to people's homes. So if you want any of these pliers, get 'em sooner rather than later.

I picked up a set of the double jointed pliers last weekend. I don't know what I will use them for, but they are kind of neat. I just wanted a set of them before they are gone.

Cool. And I just got a text that they're doing a Midnight Madness sale tonight, 9pm-7am CT. (Usually that is 5% off tools, and the F&F is usually 10% off tools, but if you buy tonight you can price-adjust when F&F happens.)

I just grabbed a set of the double jointed pliers for pickup tomorrow. I had $25 in points to use and I can think of a lot of times that these would have come in handy in the past.

I have GearWrench double jointed pliers. They are great for picking stuffs that you dropped in narrow places. Have use it at many places under the hood, and I seem to drop things between driver seat and middle console. I do not use them often but they are useful to have.

Probably the last chance to pick up the locking flex ratcheting wrenches.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-7-pc-standard-locking-flex-ratcheting-combination/p-00942400000P

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-7-p...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

Yeah, they aren't USA anymore but they are still Taiwan and way better than the floppy head no warranty at all China Gearwrench ones Sears currently sells. With points you can get them down to an acceptable amount. I paid $26 OTD for the Metric. Had the SAE for $35 but they canceled my order and now no more left. Won't refund my $30 in points so I'm going to have to call SYW directly and attempt to get them back manually.

A few stores will be closing due to landlord disputes.

Sears at Windward Mall in Kaneohe, HI started liquidating last Monday, Apr 15, and will close permanently on Sun Apr 28, 2019. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2019/04/16/sears-windward-mall-close-this-month/
This is the result of old-Sears being sued for overdue rent on that location, and apparently new-Sears couldn't come to an agreement about it. https://www.bizjournals.com/pacific...d-by-kamehameha-schools-for-back-rent-at.html

Sears at Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook, IL, the test store that old-Sears had just finished remodeling before declaring bankruptcy last October, is also closing Apr 28 because new-Sears couldn't come to an agreement with the landlord. https://amp.businessinsider.com/sears-closes-store-of-future-months-after-opening-2019-4

Sears at Santa Rosa Mall in Bayamón, Puerto Rico is on the verge of getting kicked out but no final date yet. https://www.elnuevodia.com/negocios...rturadesearsensantarosamallenbayamon-2489583/ (in Spanish)

Sears at Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville, OH starts liquidating next week (early May), and "will close [in] late June or early July". http://www.theintelligencer.net/new...hio-valley-mall-in-st-clairsville-is-closing/

Sears at Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale, AZ - "The auto center will close in late May and the store will close its doors in early July, the statement said. Liquidation sales will begin in early May." https://www.abc15.com/news/region-w...arrowhead-towne-center-in-glendale-is-closing

Sears at Dartmouth Mall in Dartmouth, MA - This one was announced back in January but won't be closing until an unknown time in Fall 2019. https://www.abc6.com/story/39866728/sears-to-close-in-dartmouth , https://www.southcoasttoday.com/news/20190128/dartmouth-sears-store-closing

Edit 4/29: Another one...
Sears at Hot Springs Mall in Hot Springs, AR - Article refers to it as a lower-case "outlet", which I think they just meant as a synonym for "store"; it appears to be a regular corporate full-line store (which previously had an auto center), not a SHOS Sears Outlet. "the store will begin liquidating its inventory next week [now this week]. A closing date was unknown at presstime." http://www.hotsr.com/news/2019/apr/27/local-sears-outlet-announces-closing-20/

Tricky tricky... I made an in-store purchase at Sears today (one of the things they're almost out of that I can't order online anymore). I thought it actually gave me a worthwhile coupon printout (besides a few $10 off $60 ones)... but nope... It says "You have $10 in Shop Your Way points to use on a future Sears or Kmart purchase. Shop now!" I thought it was giving me something extra (coupon or freecash surprise points), but it was just telling me my remaining points balance happened to be a bit above $10. :headshake :p

As seen on SD...

For anyone with a store nearby, text 'SPRING' to 73277 and get a $5 off $5+ coupon for Sears in-store only.

Valid 4/28 - 5/4. Usual restrictions (e.g. no Hot Buys, no gift cards, etc.).

Got it!

Reminder, the last several times they've done this kind of coupon, it only lets you use 1 from each round of coupons per account, so sharing doesn't work.

I see the codes now start with 98, instead of 97.

I know the 97 series continued working long after the expiration date, so I hope this 98 series does not change that.

Oh, I didn't know that. They were available on RMN for so many months (until the recent gap) that I never tried 'saving one for later', just generated them right before I was going to use it.

HPS Investment Partners to Loan New Sears $800 Million – The Wall Street Journal
5/1/2019

" Edward Lampert's new Sears has lined up an $800 million loan from a group of lenders led by investment firm HPS Investment Partners to keep its remaining stores up and running, according to people familiar with the matter.

The three-year loan will be backed by some of the new Sears's stores, the people said. The new loan will refinance an existing loan and also provide new money to fund working capital and capital to refurbish the chain, the people also said. "

 NewSears, which owns all the stores and received this new financing, has no public stock. OldSears is still an empty husk that owns nothing but debt, its remaining stock value is negligible, and will be completely voided once the bankruptcy court proceedings ever wrap up.

Thanks for the clarification. Confusing nonetheless.
