Someone on SD found this, they didn't say where, so I don't know how to determine if my/your store is participating... possible free $10 in points by talking to the mattress people in-store this Sunday.

diXOvANl.jpg

After someone else said their store knew nothing about this, the person who shared that mattress points event has now said it came from their local store-specific Facebook page, for one of those lucky few California stores that does a lot of special events. Probably not happening at the vast majority of Sears stores. :(

Great price on the ratchets. The pry bars are a good deal and have been that price for a while. They are good quality, but not made in USA like the pictures show. I have 2 sets, one I got last week, and both are made in Taiwan.

Ratchets are tempting, hope they stay on sale until my next $25 points deposit on June 15. Add a $5 off $35 Retail Me Not coupon and it's even better!

I don't remember if I knew about this when it started, but today's the last day for this Kmart points-back deal, I got a text about it last night:

" Spend $100+, get $100 CASHBACK in points in 10 installments
Offer valid 5/5–5/18/19. Members get $100 CASHBACK in points in 10 installments when you spend $100 or more on qualifying purchases on items sold by Kmart on kmart.com. Maximum $100 CASHBACK n points per member. Excludes pharmacy, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, money orders, wire transfers, protection agreements, fuel, prior purchases and partial-paid special order items. "

Having a peaceful cup of coffee, browsing my fav site, and happened to see this...

I think this is a great deal. I never seen this bar discounted. As DYI, I am trying to justify how often do I see a stuck bolt that will require 3/4 drive breaker bar hmm... It is OOP otherwise I would have jump on this.

Craftsman 18 in. 3/4" Drive Flex Handle Socket Wrench. Reg price $56, on sale $27.99

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-4...lerId=SEARS&prdNo=24&blockNo=24&blockType=G24

For price comparison, HF do have a 20in bar for $22. I am not sure quality wise, should be comparable, but personally I like CF better. The square handle fits better in my hands than round handle. Do not forget RMN $5 of $35 coupon (just need $7.01 filler).

Also find this, Craftsman 18 in. Slide Bar Handle, 3/4 in. Drive. $17.49.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-18-...lerId=SEARS&prdNo=18&blockNo=18&blockType=G18

Have a great Sunday everyone!

I only mention this as you may be near a Meijer. During Black Friday or a day between then and Xmas, they have a 50% off Tekton tools. They have a 36" breaker bar for $50 I believe. If you really don't need now, maybe that's an option. I picked one up for $38 (they mistakenly marked it down) and it is one beast of a bar. No cheater bar ever again

Oh wow, I didn't even know they had one that big, I got the 3pc set of breaker bars that look just like that in the smaller sizes last year. (That set seems to be no longer available, but you can still get them all individually.) I'd like to get it if I had more points right now, but with very little chance of me ever needing anything 3/4in, it'd be too much OOP for me to justify just to 'complete the set'. ;) Adding it to the wish list though.

They actually have a lot of socket breaker bars/extensions/accessories on sale 50% off right now: https://www.sears.com/tools-ratchet...discount=50&filterList=discount&searsTab=true
Including some, but unfortunately not all, of the ones that are normally "Great Price" (meaning not participating in sales).

Thank you and noted [emoji120] I know local Meijer has just rearranged their Tekton display. 36” would be good to have and could have use it yesterday (I had to look for my cheater pipe).

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-no-2-screwdriver-robertson/p-00941142000P
$2.99ea sale, $5.98ea regularly

All the individual sockets are half-off too.

hmm.. I do not believe I have seen these before but I see reviews from 2016, 2015. I wonder if they find a box of these in the warehouse somewhere.

Thank you @Hexen

Customer reviews from 2018 suggest that these are just the China replacements after Western Forge stopped supplying Sears.

"A lot of these reviews say made in USA. They are not, any longer. Still they decent quality."

"The second I grabbed this driver I knew it wasn't USA made. The handle is smaller than the USA made!!"

Oddly, even the old AD series were not marked USA, because I think they were actually assembled in USA.

I know the handles on my USA made torx were on the small side. Perhaps these are the same. Could very well be made in China though.

I wonder if they are dumping all of their open stock. It would make good business sense to transfer the warranty burden to Lowe's and SB&D Craftsman.

I successfully bought this stuff in-store this afternoon (wanted to pick out my screwdriver color). No sale tags/signs were posted for this extension bar, the other stuff I bought, or any of the other individual open-stock items that are 50% off, but the price scanner and the register did ring up the same prices as the website with no need for a price-match hassle. Unfortunately since no tags were up, I don't have an end date for the sale.

$7.49 sale, $14.98 'Great Price' regularly https://www.sears.com/craftsman-20-in-extension-bar-3-8-in-drive/p-00944263000P

$2.74 sale, $5.49 regularly https://www.sears.com/craftsman-mini-cap-wrench-key-chain/p-00948215000P

$6.99 sale, $9.99 regularly https://www.sears.com/picquic-tools-multique-multi-bit-screwdriver/p-00946361000P

(The other two Picquic screwdrivers Sears carries are also on sale, $5 each.)

Has anyone used Sears ship to home for free service for items you had successfully ordered (for pickup in Sears store) which turned out to be unavailable in the store?

Out of the two Craftsman items (20" 3/8 extension, and 3/4 drive flex handle breaker bar), the bar is out of stock in the store. So I received an email giving me a "choice" to either pick up in another store (that *presumably* has it in stock), or have it shipped to home for free. I chose the free shipping option but have not received any confirmation email - it's as if it never happened. And the refund probably won't happen unless I chat ...

Having the same problem. I chose ship to home but they canceled it. Now they insist that it take 7-10 days to get my points back. I can tolerate this BS because I was paying with points. I would have taken my business somewhere else if paying OOP.

Their confirmations can be erratic lately. I haven't had that particular scenario myself, but the last couple store pickup orders I've had, I never got the 'ready for pickup' texts I always request, or the automated phone call the next morning; didn't look for the actual emails though. Had to find out by checking the order history page that it was ready.

yep they gave me the same BS on waiting 7-10 days. my experience has been, the credit may not come at all - last time I'd to follow up after almost two weeks or it's just 'forgotten'. the service is really that bad, and getting worse. It used to be you can get the points credit back almost right away.

for those looking for ideas to spend $ / points, look up craftsman sidewinder tape measure reviews are good and both the 16' and 25' are on sale.

The 3 new Sears Home & Life stores will be having their grand opening on Fri May 24. It will include free gift bags, multiple raffles, and a chance to win something (probably SYW points) in some kind of trivia game.

If any of you live near one of the locations, see the detailed schedule at https://www.sears.com/en_us/dap/home-and-life.touch.html

Most importantly, the list of raffles includes one happening "in the tools department", so this store format has not abandoned tools after all.

Locations:

ANCHORAGE Sears Home & Life
901 E. Dimond
Anchorage, AK 99515

LAFAYETTE Sears Home & Life
4405 Ambassador Caffery
Lafayette, LA 70508

OVERLAND PARK Sears Home & Life
6327 W 119th St.
Overland Park, KS

Ha. Try getting your points and cash back on an order the system cancelled that you placed on the Sears website fulfilled at a Sears hometown. Hint, don't order anything that way on a Saturday night, the system resets and auto cancels all orders before the store receives them.

Refund took 4 separate chat contacts and 3.5 weeks. Then I still had to call SYW to get my $50 in points back which meant 20 minute hold and about 20 security questions about my account that I had no idea what the answers were anymore. They just cancelled another order placed that way and I just can't wait for this fun round 2.

My points randomly disappeared before expiration, the battle to get them back assured me I had made the right decision in not doing any more points back deals, without a local store sears is officially dead to me. I will miss it and all craftsman was. RIP Sears Roebuck and Co. F*** you eddie.

If you're having problems doing store pickup, you could try installing the separate 'Personal Shopper' SYW app, and ordering through them to get free home shipping on any order amount. There's some extra hoops to jump through if your points don't cover the order in full, but it's nothing compared to what you've been going through.

I've never had success with those emails. It's a great concept, but I have no idea what I did wrong.

What’s the cost and hoops you have to do to get free shipping if it’s below the $59 threshold?

My closest Sears and Kmart front a lot of merchandise to appear being fully stocked. It’s getting harder than ever to get something if you have points to use up. Along with the driving time which is roughly 60 minutes round trip depending on traffic.

The Sears tool dept is "fully stocked" ? Edit: I think I misread that, and you're saying they really are not.

My nearest store is not restocking some tools, such as hammers and pliers.
