As badly as amazon ***** at keeping large, multi-package together, I would say a house from them would be a total disaster. I also doubt any of them will be around 100 years later, as many from sears are, but that's pure speculation.

Just because the house is sold at Amazon.com, does not means that Amazon build it, so the quality depends on the company that build it. Also, does not means Amazon is doing the shipping. I highly doubt this company send the house piece by piece to Amazon warehouses, then Amazon ship them to the buyer. Most likely the house will be dropped shipped to the buyer straight from the company's warehouse.

imho it is all depending on the company who built the house. Amazon most likely has nothing to do with these house. I am not serious about it yet, but have been looking at these tiny houses vs one of the storage building/shed at Lowe's/Home Depot. I would love to have one of these built at my backyard for my home office since I work from home.

Yeah, it is a third-party manufacturer selling/shipping these, so it's not an identical situation as the Sears house era, but I thought the parallels were interesting anyway. :) Amazon is now the place where you can order a whole house and everything to put in it.

A while back I read an article how Sears could have been Amazon... well could have... should have...

They were, until vulture capitalism and piss-poor management took over.

On a side note, has anyone else had their syw reward of spend $50 get $15 pop up again? I spent the $50 last month and received the $15, but the promotion isn't scheduled to end until this week but I have purchased $50 again and received a second reward.

Just got a text, it's Midnight Madness tonight. Not in effect yet, but it should be an extra 5% off tools, and 10% off some other stuff, starting officially at 9pm CT but sometimes shows up earlier around 8pm.

Sounds like a decent item from the one review, so it might be good for a kitchen drawer or something.

Too bad the sale wasn't extended for two more days when I get another $33.33 on the 18th. I guess I'll just have to manage with $25.

Just a reminder, if this is anything like the past Sears sales, the actual deals within the sale will end on the 14th at 10PM Pacific. So get your stuff ordered the very first day.

These filter pliers aren't a huge discount but they are rarely if ever on sale, and are being discontinued in favor of offshore units (they are actually assembled in USA), grab them if you can. I've had my pair for awhile but they are AWESOME for removing stuck can lids in the kitchen, so I wanted another pair for the house in addition to the garage.

I got those a few weeks ago. Red handles and made in Taiwan, not assembled in USA. I think the assembled in USA ones are already gone.

From what I've seen, Sears sells the Taiwan version and Sears Auto sells the "USA" version.

If your Sears does not have a Sears Auto, then maybe some of the automotive accessories can be found inside the Sears store.

I've used the 2-sizes set of Craftsman strap wrenches for that a few times. :) Might get one of these too, hmm. I do still have a Sears Auto that says they're in stock.

A reviewer points out another alternate use, "Very handy for working with larger plastic pipe & fittings. Thin jaws get into tight places & works as well as bigger pipe wrenches without the cumbersome size or weight."

There isn't much to "The largest online sale of the season". The 15% off code doesn't apply to tools and some of the stuff is higher now than it was last week.

Yeah, laaaame. And a coupon-code sale (instead of up-front price reductions) means you can't use freecash surprise points along with it, if you have access to any decent ones.

Here's the whole fine print for this 'sale':

No tools, no lawn equipment, no auto accessories.

It's like Sears shut out the GJ crowd.:monkey_pi

Anything good at all to buy on this sorry excuse for a sale? I've got $58 in points or $68 off $80 if I take them up on the freecash but still don't see anything that isn't historically overpriced worth buying...

Edit: I ended up getting the Mayhew pry bar set that Sears recently started carrying. They did price match Home Depot for me and take my points. $47.89 before points, which seems in line with other sellers out there.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Mayhew-Dominator-Pry-Bar-Set-3-Piece-61355/203353843

I've already got the standard strike cap ones, the USA red hard handle non strike, and the strike cap pros (allegedly made by Mayhew) so interested to see how these stack up. Can't have enough strong USA prey bars.

Same here. I have $70 in points. I was thinking about these:

H.K. Porter 24" POWERLINK Center Cut Bolt Cutters $77.96

Maybe they will price match Tractor Supply at $54.99

I just ordered the filter pliers, the all-black US version only sold under Sears Auto. This is the first time I've done a pickup order with Auto, will the stuff be waiting at the usual pickup area or is there some weird procedure for them?

The two now defunct auto stores by me didn't pull anything. They or I grabed it off the sales floor when you get there.

If it says Sears Auto on the website, then I head to the auto center to pick up the order. Not merchandise pickup.

Over the years, Sears Auto deals gained a bad reputation over on Slickdeals. Many horror stories about having to deal with incompetent auto guys when trying to pick up an online order. Good luck. :D

Not a tool deal, but thought I'd note that my Sears store has all their curtains, curtain rods, and curtain rings on clearance (not the ones for bathrooms). However, the online clearance prices are lower than the in-store clearance prices.

I don't think they would want to create another empty spot in the store, so I guess they may have something new coming in. :dunno:
