I contemplated getting the Pro Series multimeter for about a day, during which they sold out. However, during that day, I did such a good job convincing myself that I do in fact want it, that I ended up buying one on eBay for about $8 more than it was from Sears after shipping. Looks like it's now dropped another $5 on the website, but it was sold out and unavailable for shipping before the drop.

I was looking at the Extechs on Amazon, and none quite match the features of the Pro Series Craftsman meter. The closest I could find, but with different button layouts and no Bluetooth, is the EX520, which is $150 on Amazon.

Craftsman ProSeries True RMS Industrial Multimeter is made by CEM Instruments who also makes multimeters for Extech and Southwire.

Aha, good find. IIRC I'd only heard Extech as the source before. This explains why some of the matching Extech models of electrical testing tools have been 'discontinued' while matching Craftsman and Southwire models are still being made. (E.g. I noticed this with the circuit breaker finder.)

Thank you! Some of these had me scratching my head.

I managed to snag the clamp meter when stopping at a store out of town.

I got both of those last summer at just 10% off. IIRC, the fewer-teeth set's angled ratchets are at a different angle than the 72-tooth one, so it's worth having them all. [emoji106]
Gotta collect them all! You're right, they are different angles. I also have the battery side terminal ratchet wrench which is the low tooth count variety, and the finger bit ratchet which seems to also be 72 teeth. I counted, and the low tooth count bit ratchets are only 16 teeth.
Thanks for this! Seems like a long time mystery solved. I also had thought Extech was the actual manufacturer and thought it was odd, though not that odd, that they were licensing out model configurations they weren't selling themselves.

I don't recall ever seeing this on their site, but they had a nice booklet in the store with charts comparing the different Craftsman multimeter models.

Yes definitely gotta collect them all. The 31 piece set in the black case is currently $11.94 with the 72 tooth ratchet. That is a good buy for that set. Even though the low tooth count ratchets are only 16 teeth, they are still fairly smooth at least mine are.

Nice collection there! Yeah, they're not bad, for sure. It's hard to tell from the picture on their site. I didn't realize the one included in that set was the 72 tooth version.

Something is going on with my picture uploads tonight. Here's the one that didn't load properly in my last post.

I thought those were made in China now.

They should be, so I wonder where they pulled these from when they restocked this size.

The store tool department was just as busy as last weekend, but the empty hooks and shelves are making this look like a liquidation event.

i'm tempted to return $100 of my online purchases and then buy in-store. Anyone else's store have $100 in points when you spend $100? I have a few other things to pick up from a hometown store, I'm curious if they have the same cash back offer there too.

I ship to my PO Box in Pembina, ND or my place their if they don't do PO boxes.

Where did you see and which model was shipping? I get not available on all the Pro meters.

Sorry. When you said "nothing was shippable", I thought you meant any model. There's only one Pro Series multimeter showing on the site, but it no longer has a shipping option.

I still get a shipping option on the models I posted a week ago.
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8081466&postcount=12543

Also, the webpages determine your options by zip code, so the PO box address should not be a factor until you are actually checking out.

EDIT: I tried zip code 58271 (Pembina), and it gives me a shipping option for many meters.

Forgot to ask about that here.

An employee (regular Sears store) thought it was a banner left up from an expired offer. I searched through my emails, but could not find anything about it.

Anybody know if the Sears Hometown stores are participating in this Blowout sale? No Sears, Kmart or Hometown stores left near me anymore, but I’m taking a road trip tomorrow and see that there’s a Hometown about 15 miles near my route. If these prices are honored there I’ll stop to see if they have anything on my list.

The best way to be sure is to order on the Sears website for immediate in-store pickup at that location. :)

Kicking myself now for not paying more OOP to order that chisel set with the missing prybar sooner... it's gone "Temporarily Unavailable". So much for that nice combo plan. Website said my store didn't have any, but even if my store actually does, not being able to order through the website means chat probably wouldn't want to help with the prybar fulfillment afterward.

Same Hexen, the first thirty-six hours or so everything was available ship to store or free shipping. The stuff is still available just in stores far away, no shop to store, no free shipping.

The signs still up at the store I visited today all said it ended 9/21.

I was surprised most of the blowout sale tags were up around the tool department. Plenty of things were long gone, but I managed to get a pretty good haul. Unfortunately the store closest to me is in liquidation or I probably could have gotten nearly everything I wanted.

say what you want about sears, but ive been rather surprised and happy with their customer support overall. had two issues with my recent orders--the earlier mentioned chisels missing the larger bar and a post level being flattened in transport just today and both times chat sent out a new item, no hassle, no questions asked.

and over the past year thats been the overall experience, even if you do sometimes have to close and reconnect to a new chat agent to get the answer you know is right. not to mention how many times chat has just thrown free points at me for next to no reason at all.

sometimes even sears deserves a pat on the back

My big score for this blow out sale is the 6" bench grinder. I ordered and paid for the regular six-inch model but was shipped the variable speed one all for the sum of $15.49 after points. Not a bad deal at all!

New low price for this cart. I bought last week for $3 more but got a price adjustment today.

Craftsman 2-Shelf Heavy-Duty Utility Cart $49.94

Nobody has answered about Hometown stores offering the same deals in-store. If the same prices are not offered in store, you can always use the sears app, scan item and put in your cart, and then place your order. The Hometown stores usually receive the order quickly. In the past I have just put all my stuff on the counter, since I'm usually the only one in the store. The Hometown store might have better deals in cash back, but if not, don't forget about Retailmenot offering 10% cash back. I went to pick up my ordered items from my Hometown store on Saturday, only to discover that they closed at 6pm :(

I did reply to suggest ordering through the Sears website for pickup at the Hometown, but good to hear from experience that you can even do it on-the-spot while in the store like that.

I have actually done it like that a couple times at my big Sears, but it is a pain there because the order pickup area is far away from where the tools are, and I can't follow the pickup guy through the back room so it's even further for me.

well...just got another duplicate item. i honestly have no idea what sears has been doing with this sale, but theyre all over the place with it.

some of my orders were issued UPS #s via the shipping confirmation email you get a day or two after your order. cool, just like normal. but then when i would check SYW half of them randomly changed UPS #s at one point or another and it looked like they were consolidating the orders into the same UPS #. cool, fewer shipments. only thats not whats happened. instead some of my stuff came in as ordered, some came in split shipments, and a few have been doubled.

an example: ordered a socket set, qty 2, and was given a UPS #. one was sent as a single, packing list shows 1 of 1 in the box, but SYW showed 2 being delivered on that #. then the 2nd shows up consolidated with random other stuff, again showing 1 of 1 on slip. no problem, got both so im cool.

but then the same thing happens with these bags, only in reverse. ordered 1, email gives a tracking #, SYW consolidates it, item shows up with other items in a mixed box. cool, i got my stuff. then two days later the item shows up again under the original UPS #, both packing slips say 1 of 1. makes no sense.

ive got at least one more # issued but it doesnt show movement yet. we'll see if something else shows up. as of yesterday all my items have shown up, but ive received OVER 20 shipments for my 2 orders, with 5 items being duplicated so far, plus the chisel/pry bar issue as well as the broken post level being replaced. and i only paid ~$125 OOP total

craziness....pure craziness.

My guess is that the orders completely flooded the system, plus they probably do not have enough people to fulfill the orders (grab them, packed and shipped them) so I am willing to bet it is a complete chaos in their warehouse.

Tabs's orders have been being shipped by random Sears stores, not even real warehouses, so it's even more of a fiasco. ;)

I have sat at the parcel pickup last winter during the big sale between Thanksgiving and Xmas and watched the UPS drivers roll carts full of boxes into the store and roll full carts out to the trucks for shipping. Multiple trips in and out.

most of them didn't have those small white tags on them like in my original picture, but several have had stickers about 4-6" square with barcodes and multicolors, stuck right onto the product or packaging and impossible to take off whole w/o ripping, so id say they came from warehouses. no pics as ive already tossed them

Well my mobile base came today so I made the trek down to pick up my meager haul.
I just got the base, multimeter and bit ratchet. The few other things I wanted were out of stock. Checking the shelves, not much was left to buy in store either.

For those with the ratchet what is the best way to oil it up? Mine wants to stick in one direction so I drizzled some oil on it hoping it will sink in eventually. If I 'tap' it on the bench it will switch directions so I know it isn't broken yet.

Nice. I was a bit slow on deciding if I really want spare meters, but they disappeared from the store pretty fast after my post. Even the most expensive model got snatched up. :lol_hitti

This is one item my store had quite a few of (the clamp meter). I wish they had one of the pro models but those are long gone. I have a hometown with one but it's full price unfortunately, and pretty far away.
