They're asking Professional Made in USA set prices for something made in China. The only part of those kits that intrigue me are the ratchets. They look nice, and if they're made by Great Star, they're most likely better than the average ratchet out there. A couple weeks ago Sears sent me the wrong items in an order and in an apology they gave me a coupon for the 23pc Ultimate set for like $41 shipped. I probably should have jumped on it but my tool box is already filled with 3/8 USA made Craftsman.

It’s not that they’re cheap now, just that they’re back to the cheaper pricing compared to what they had been, more like pre Christmas last year (geez Sears will very likely survive another Christmas, incredible).

They’re a cut above their other stuff in terms of finish but still Chinese and they are Great Star. These sets are kinda nice for Chinese stuff. The biggest possible drawback about the ratchets are they are not quick release if you view it as such.

The quick-release isn't a deal breaker for me; I have a few older USA made ratchets that lack that feature and I'm used to it.

I kind of figured Sears was gearing up for another Christmas season based on the new Christmas bags the cashier used a couple weeks ago. "Elf tested, Santa Approved" is their slogan this year. But again, those bags could have been left over from years prior.

I dont know if i would call it surviving about the only way to get sears stuff is off the internet pretty much all the stores are gone. Even my 2 stores are gone which i thought were pretty solid stores. I myself have moved on from craftsman. :(

Going to stay in business just long enough to depreciate all the plexi-glass they had to invest in, just to keep their doors open.

Craftsman is the biggest loss IMO, but they've been lost since they offshored everything. It just took me awhile to notice.

Maybe Im late to the game, but all of that is unavailable.

Yeah, I started making a post earlier in the week, but the site has been erratic with this Blowout.

Prices fluctuating up and down, shipping options disappearing, and product pages being deleted. This Blowout is already worse with the tool department being much smaller this year, but the remaining website staff is making it more difficult to shop online.

Before they started to delete pages, it looked like most of the Blowout items were open stock. I may stop by at a full-line store tomorrow.

I was going to post up some deals I found but I bought them and wanted to pick them up from the store first. Got to the car with my goods, went online to post, and found all the items I just purchased were "temporarily available." I've kept my eye on them, this was 2 weeks ago, and all the items are still unavailable.

I can order these for pickup but can’t ship them they were available for shipping when I posted. Could just be a cart glitch. I ran across this with ordering slippers like 2 weeks ago and just flipped them in and out of cart a few times and it let me do shipping they arrive with no issue. Anyone try SYW or the phone app?

I had some GasBuddy points about to expire last week (9/30), so I spent all of them on a couple Hansen socket holders. ($52 order, $5 off coupon, $46 in points, free shipping somehow, ended up paying $1.03 OOP and spent my last points. Logged on today and saw $26 in points. I asked chat and they said it was a promotion. I didn't receive any notification about it. Points expiration is Dec 31, 2020. Then I checked my order and there was a $4 price drop today on one of my items, so I got another $4 in points refunded. Now I have $30 more to spend and 3 months to accumulate a few more Gasbuddy dollars and find something to buy...

Woohoo!

Based on the the service we are getting from Sears on the repair of the dryer in my house, I can not recommend anyone buying anything from them.

Our machine has been waiting on parts since September 9, 2020.

I was shorted some points on the final WWW game (4/1), but the email I received yesterday refers to a February holiday: "Wild Wins Wednesday Game! Happy Valentine's Day!"

Maybe someone turned on a computer in the old Sweeps department, and it tried to automatically process the backlog.

Went to warranty a hose end sprayer, figuring it might be the last opportunity. The only thing similar was a 3-pack of Ray Padula sprayers. They wanted me to fork over $2.50, half the cost to swap out. They were really worried about every last cent.

While I was there, an associate made an announcement saying they received 23 new appliances that day. And I kid you not, boy was there excitement in that announcement. Then they said, "just waiting for mgr *** to tell us what to do with them."
then she got on the loudspeaker to announce she was in tools, and find her. so strange

Similar situation... I didn't see any emails but somehow ended up on the Sears website this morning and saw that I had .40 in points. I then went to the SYW website and looked in my points history... said I won .40 yesterday (including a big .25 win).

I haven't played any games or bought anything in months... now wondering what to do with my windfall!!

Like the good old days, I’d go pick up a tool to to cash out the guy would be like “oh you have $10 in surprise points” walk out with Tool for free.

It’s a shame they can’t continue that.

Very little left on the shelves when I was in the last 2-3 weeks ago. Most of the displays were broken down and placed in the back

It likely sped up the current state drastically (this as I’m sitting here sipping coffee I got for free from Kmart from SYW).

That $100 on $100 last Christmas was an example of the pure insanity. There was almost no way you could pass on just buying into as many of those as you could.

I miss as crazy as it was but I got so much stuff at the same time.

There were some crazy deals on points in the summer/fall of 2018. I bought a house and needed some appliances, power tools, and outdoor power equipment, and the points deals were too good to pass up between both stores. Well, long story short, I saved up HUNDREDS of dollars in points to buy a nice front-load washer for $325. I miss those deals!

I especially liked the 'rolling points' deals...

Like the 1/4" impact driver for $120 with $100 in points back... but as long as you paid at least .01 out-of-pocket, you could use points for the balance AND still get the $100 back.

Or back in 2017 when Kmart gave you $50 in points back on any artificial Christmas tree... didn't matter if the tree cost $40... you still got back $50 in points. I bought 2 (with points) before they sold out (or they stopped the deal)... gave them to Goodwill and bought a shop-vac and top-chest with the points.

Those really were the days...

I was about to open my two that are in the barn for the first time in a couple weeks.

I did do the $100 back on $100 every day when it started last year, the crazy part was in January I was redeeming points and even tho I was redeeming $62-$$78 at a time they were only reducing my points by $12-$28 each day, lasted that way for almost 3 weeks before they fixed it. Made me make multiple purchases every day to use the points otherwise they would expire. For some reason it was a sweeT spot reducing your points expenditure by $50.

Eddie really took SYW out with a bang.

I got a 3 piece tool chest where I bought the middle, then top, then bottom with rolling points, had to do it on 3 consecutive days, set them all for pickup drove the truck over and picked them up on the last day. So far it looks like $100 on $100 last year looks like it was the final hurrah for SYW.

These are actually pretty nice for imports. I like the SAE set since I work on a lot of garden stuff. I’ve been using it quite a bit over the summer/fall.

Are those Craftsman made overseas?
I'm out of the loop. Last time I checked (soo many years ago) these were still made in USA.

I'm on the lookout for a socket & wrench set but was hoping to find USA made for not too much $.

Just about everything Craftsman is made overseas now. If you want USA Craftsman, Ebay is your best bet.
