I posted this in the Hot Deal thread but wanted to move it over here to help other out:

Updated with pictures.

Hit up my local Sears this morning about 10:30. They still had a few line wrenches, I picked up 3 metric and 3 SAE, but I don't have the sizes in front of me. All rang up for $1.97. I also picked up 5 SAE 3/8 drive flex sockets, but am pissed because they were out of 3/8 and 5/8 otherwise I would have the complete set, so if anyone has some extras please let me know. I also picked up a complete set of metric except for 17mm which they were out of, however at checkout only the 16mm, 18mm and 19mm were $0.97, (they were out of 17mm) the rest rang up at $8.** regular price and the clerk said they could not adjust the prices. Also the 3/4 line wrench rang up at $9.97, not discounted and they wouldn't adjust the price either so I skipped on that one. I may take the two metrics back, as what am I going to do with those two oddball sizes. I also picked up the $19.99 3-piece pry bar set, but I am on the fence. Will post pics in the new tool arrival section later.

I am looking for missing sizes, so if you have any you want to sell or trade for my extra 1/4 X 5/16 flare wrench let me know.

I went back today, got some 3/4 drive stuff that is listed here. Also picked up a set of Greenlee long nut drivers in 1/4 and 5/16 (Taiwan) and 50 foot Greenlee fish tape(USA). Both were $12 each which is about 50% off. The lady working there (only one around and very very helpful) let me scan anything I wanted. She even rolled out a cart stacked with stuff that will be marked clearance but it was all construction tools and the only stuff I needed was the Greenlee electricians tools. I asked why the the sockets were being blown out and she told be because they weren't laser etched. Non of the 3/4 stuff was laser etched and only a few of them were marked down :dunno:
No swivels here, some guy came in a bought them all right when they went on clearance, probably at the flea market now.

I don't know if it'll work or not, but maybe we should get all of the chatter out of the regular hot deals thread before people get their ******* in a bunch.

Well . .43 responses since midday . . guess this "worked"?:lol_hitti

I stopped by my Sears tonight on the way home with your numbers all written down and . . .NOTHING!

They probably are. I got a couple of incomplete sets, mixed China and old stock USA.

What SAE sizes am I missing? The 3/4 x 7/8?? size was on clearance for $9.97 but not marked down below that and I know I am missing a smaller size too.

I've got a 3/4 x 7/8 and 1/2 x 9/16 that you're missing. I've also got 15 x 17 and 16 x 18 that you don't have.

My Sears had all of the sizes when I was there, but I'm missing 3 that they didn't mark down.

So there are only 4 SAE wrenches and 5 metric ones? Are your extras for sale? My Sears had the 3/4 X 7/8 but it was $10. The associates could not adjust the price down either to match the rest, and I even asked nicely. (however the sales lady did ask ME to give her all 10's in her customer satisfaction survey, WTF!)

Hmm, I think there are 5 of each.

The only extra I have is a 16 x 18, which I may consider selling at cost if you would like it.

Yeah, not sure yet, they have too many stickers on them to see if the say USA or not. Either way, for $1.97 not too bad.

Those stickers with the number in a black box are only on Chinese wrenches in my experience. To be honest, I had no idea those were on clearance too. I only checked the old Pros.

The Pros available, according to my '08-'09 catalog are as follows:
1/4x5/16
3/8x7/16
1/2x9/16
5/8x11/16
3/4x7/8

9x11
10x12
13x14
15x17
16x18
19x21

I have an extra 16x18 and an extra 3/8"dr 5/8" flex if anyone needs them.

I was only able to check one Gearwrench so far (a 1-1/4) and it was a no-go.

I might take you up on the extras you have, what do you think shipping would be to 46637? I have a couple PM's out to see if anyone wants a trade, so I will let you know shortly.

If you have any extra 18mm swivels, would you be willing to sell one to me? They were out of these at both sears here in town.

I hit the mother load! Total was $76. If anyone wants to do some trading, I'm looking for any sizes not shown in the picture and the FLARE NUT WRENCHES. I went to two sears stores and both had tons of USA flares, with not 1 on sale. They where $15-$22 EACH! That is what I really wanted the most. Also both stores had the 10, 13, 14 and 15mm 3/8" flex sockets but they where not on sale either.

IMAG0179.jpg

If you have an 18mm that you'd be willing to sell, I'd be interested.

If you guys want to trade, I'd like to put together a 3/8 drive metric flex set. Right now I have an extra 2-3/16" socket. Will hit a few stores tomorrow.

I'll see if I can get what I want, more 3/4 stuff and some flare wrenches.

I posted the Gearwrench sizes I got for $1.97/each. They were all over 3/4" that I bought, but a few metric and smaller sizes were marked down as well.

I believe the ones I got were 13/16, 7/8, 15/16, 1, 1 1/16, 1 1/8.

This was only at one Sears store. The other one I visited did not have them marked down and I scanned them.

Ratcheting?

How much are you guys paying for the universal sockets. They were 2.49 at the Sears I was just at. 24.99 for the sets but each set was missing one socket.

My Sears had a clearance rack next to the cash registers with the .97 sockets.

Picked over pretty good but I found 8 I wanted to buy:

3/8 " drive 11mm flex socket
3/8" drive 11/16 in flex socket
3/8 " drive 3/8 in flex socket
3/8 " drive 3/8 in screwdriver socket
3/8 " drive 7/32 in screwdriver socket
1/4 " drive 1/4 in hex socket
1/4 " drive 7/32 in hex socket
1/4 " drive 3/8 in hex socket

As of this morning the Southcenter Sears in Tukwila, WA actually had a lot of the 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive sockets marked.

0418121041a.jpg

The 3/4" drive sockets were not marked but did ring up $.97.

There were several left of most of them. A few were sold out. I only took one of each.

The large Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches rang up full price. :(

The cashiers are weird. Had one experienced guy that has been working there for years punch in the part number for the 3/4 drive 1" socket 2 times because he couldn't believe the price.

The old guy at my Sears also was quite surprised when the 3/4 drive sockets I bought rang up at .97 He said "this can't be right", and was kind of mad. I told him jokingly, that I saw it on the internet, so it must be right. (He didn't find it funny) He went and found a manager, and she told him it was the right price. He was still kind of mad that they were that price. Probably because I beat him to the deal. It seems like my sears never has any of the good deals left, I think the employees ****** them up first. They only had less than 25 sockets left on the clearance rack by the register.

Almost forgot. Does anyone have an extra 16mm flex, and an 18mm flex to complete my set I bought last year? That was the main reason I went, just to get those 2 sockets, that of course they were sold out of. It wasn't a total loss, the three 3/4 drive sockets I did get was worth the trip ( 2-3/16, 2-1/4, 2-3/8)
