None of the wrenches appeared to be on sale.

Nothing at my Sears was marked down on the shelf, but stuff I bought still scanned at 97 cents on sockets and 1.97 on flare wrenches.

C'mon - two of these middle chests for $49.94 NIB? I probably shouldn't have left the other two.:willy_nil

My haul:
one bottom 5 chest roller - grey
THREE middle 2 drawer chest - grey
one top chest 7 drawer - grey
Total:$195!:eyecrazy:

I like the middle chests because they work great on a shelf anyplace handy in the garage (no need to restrict location due to a chest lid opening.

All the ones that were left at the sears I went to today were chinese made flares. But they did have some locking flex head ratchet stubby wrenches made in the USA on clearance also for about 11 dollars each.

Do you have any extra flare wrenches in those sizes? If so, I am interested. I have a couple extra flares to trade, 1/4x5/16 and 9x11, I believe. Let me know.

What store was that? The ones I checked here in CT didn't have anything on clearance but that was a few days ago...

It was the Sears in Janesville WI. The employees said they were totally revamping the tool dept. there and expanding it.

I just paid a visit to my Sears and they didn't have anything on clearance. And their idea of a "sale" on the other items was $1 off regular price.

If you are talking about the Marketplace mall one you are very mistaken. Yesterday they had quite a bit of stuff left.

Finally made it in to mine and saw nothing marked down but was obvious what was, every spot that was empty and had the white tag to refill. Almost never see sale prices marked at mine though, if they are they are from a previous week or on the wrong item.

Just scored 2 mid box at sear, the quite guild for 48.98 each. I really have increased by tool storage space. And I had a 15 dollar coupons, and club member with a 3 dollar savings. So image out well. 98-15-3=80 plus tax

http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-...-glide-intermediate-tool-chest/p-00962395000P

Went back this am to get the last two mid section 2-drawers at $24 each. So far I have picked up five mid section"quiet glide" at $24 each - two of them are still in boxes!

So: I have $265 invested in a bottom roller 4 drawers, a top box seven drawer and FIVE mid section two drawers.:rocker:

Which ones the 2 drawer or 3 drawer for 24. I saw couple of the basic mid boxes for cheaper. Just do not need that many boxes. The quiet glide was a good compromise for me, and little bit more bells and whistle.

I went to the closest Sears and only found 3 sockets. Everything was marked on sale. Went to another four miles away and nothing was marked. Came back with the score below. I only bought what I needed and no more than two of each. I felt kind of guilty buying any more. Figured I'd let others have an opportunity. Karma and all.

Mine was all marked and they had about 2 dozen left of sizes I didn't need. Only 1 flex socket.

Kudos to you!!! :rocker:

It's refreshing to see that instead of scooping up everything off the shelf and trying to sell it at 15 times what you bought it for!

no gearwrench stuff on sale here. a few 3/4 sockets. bunch of flex. Almost no other sockets.

I assume, with the large GW stuff, it's the ratcheting ones? I only saw 1 area of individually sold wrenches...they rang up for $18.99-$29.99 each.

I'll post later w/ stuff I need / to trade once I have some time. I got a couple of extras so that I could swap, etc.

I stopped by there again today and was able to pick up a few misc sockets, 1 flare wrench, and a couple of SAE nut drivers. I would like to have gotten a few more metric flex sockets but they were pretty picked over. Thanks for the pointers on where to look!

I bought an 18 pc 3/8" Dr 12 pt socket set with both STD and Metric varieties for only $33.99 on-line and picked it up today at my local store. These are the non-laser etched ones and still made in the USA. I didn't see this set on the store shelf.

You're welcome. Glad to help. Menard's has also been putting tools and fasteners on clearance.

I hit up the nearest Sears for around 8-9 flare nut wrenches for $1.97 each even though they were marked $8-10. I got one of every they had. I would of hit up the sockets too, but they keep them in a case and I felt like I already made out pretty well.

Didn't see it mentioned, sorry if I missed it, but I found the 1/2" drive stud pullers, which are usually laying around by the 3/4" drive stuff, were on clearance too. Tagged at $24 but rang up at $11.** as a clearance item. Anyone needing one, probably not going to get it cheaper than that. I bought one for myself and got my dad one as well.

Did you happen to get an item number for the bottom/middle/top boxes?

x2...went there yesterday and didn't see them at all. They were all labeled "ball bearing"..

My mistake, these are steel glide (BASIC) boxes, not "quite glide". I didn't realize there was a level between the steel slides and the ball bearing. I think these are their cheapest boxes:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00959889000P?prdNo=11&blockNo=11&blockType=G11

But I bought them more for covered storage than for heavy use - I mean, you could easily bend these with your bare hands if you want, so they aren't going to stand up to a lot of abuse. . . but at $24 each they will sure help me get my space organized!

I also nitices that they have the same box in a ball-bearing version marked cheaper on line than the basic box . . .so maybe there are other boxes heading towards the discount rack?:dunno:
