I just purchased an 8 inch bench grinder and would like to know if there is a pedestal I could mount it to with out securing the pedestal to the floor.
I've seen people fab one and use a truck rim for a base.
I have my 8" grinder on the Harbor Freight stand.

Four legs, a tray half way up and it's reasonably stable. Nothing special but for $30 it hardly seems worthwhile to fab one up.

Do you have a link to that thread? I've been searching for that exact topic with not much success...Yeah , a bit of drive shaft and brake drum etc .... (pic moved over from how to heat a small shed thread)![]()
I have found if you throw one of the rubber mats under the stand it will help with vibration and keep it from walking around. I have several mats in front of my benches that I got from Menards.

LOL.I did that too.My 8" is on the leg from a restaurant table. It has 4 feet with adjusters and I welded a piece of 3/8" plate to the top to match the grinder. Super stable and portable.
