Here is my take on lifetime warranties DEFECTS IN MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP ......... a wrench/socket/etc with some rust spots still works. Clean it up, throw a little oil on it and use it......no defect. A wrench/socket/etc with enough rust so it DOESN'T work.....abused/neglected tool.....no defect.
A worn out tool just by it's nature PROVES there is no defect. If you used it until it wore out over an extended period of time, you have made your money back 10 times over.......toss it, buy a new one and get back to work.
