All it takes is a 40 degree heat wave to make the Florida crowd frisky. :bounce:
Jim, you've got that right! I insulated my garage so I could cool it but I never considered heat. The first few days of lows in the 40s and my garage dropped from 82*F to 78*F but after a week it's down to 70. As I walked the hundred feet to the shop, I thought it might be time for some shoes and maybe even SOCKS.

The shop is also insulated and air conditioned but it doesn't hold heat as well as the garage. On the other hand, I have a heater for the shop...

No socks, just layers of clothes. It will be warm by noon. My wife laughs at me when I put on a coat but I’m still in shorts and flip flops.

First liar doesn't stand a chance.

Once in Nigeria we had a cool morning. I was traveling up country with a driver, staying in local hotels. I commented it was cool. Driver says, that's nothing, he was in the mountains near Kaduna and had to scrape the windows in the morning, and he had little mountains on his arms. I said, that's nothing, where I'm from it gets so cold the whole river turns to an ice cube and you can drive your transport on it. We laughed and laughed at the whopper I told.

Thanks for checking, I'm still waiting for Shorty to show up. It's been COLD by Florida standards and I think he's in hibernation.

We have had a couple of hard freezes with rain. One of those brought a small amount of snow. Couple days ago there was a forecast for slight chance of snow but know its forecast as sunshine and freezing.

So where was I? Lately, life has been about staying warm, not being about to do things as planned and playing more Tetris. As you know, awhile ago, the HF service cart became the autobody tool cart. With my last post, contents of the service cart was moved to the bench. Time to get rid of the AV cart and put the service cart back in action but in the house garage. I really like this the service cart. I removed the power strip from the AV cart and added to the service cart.

Things are looking up!

My primarily focus lately has been on making floor space. Having my old bench gone as helped a lot. I didn't sell the big metal AV cart at the swap meet so I decided the casters are worth the $15 I paid and the sheetmetal can be used for another project. Out came the cutoff tool. Getting the work bench, the two AV carts, and service cart out of the shop has freed up 38 sq. ft. Not a lot but every foot counts. :)

Shorty, I totally agree that every foot counts, in my case its every inch.

Most of my benches are mobile and that makes a huge difference..

Have a good one.

Drum rolling please.

Well the enablers have been back at it. As you know, a cab swap was made with CBacres at the end of the year. Last weekend was spent going back to where I got the black cabinet to get 4 more cabinets. When they are priced right, hard to turn down. Three of the cabinets are open shelf cabinets and one has drawers. The blue one I'm keeping and looks like it was used to shelve waste oil. Very dirty. Some Super Clean and now its at least oil/grease free.

The tan drawer cabinet is mine also. Removed all the drawers, washed everything down with Simple Green, brake cleaner in the bearings. The bottom drawer got a little body work and needs more. Also, I had to weld a couple of the drawer racks. I used silicone lube for the bearing, so things glide a lot better. Hopefully this cabinet will allow be to move two of my tall grey storage cabinets to the house (seen behind blue cab).

The sixth picture is of my Lista Cabinets. first two were the trade with CBacres. third was my first industrial cabinet (DP cabinet) and the tall Lista was at the house. Some measuring of items and some planning, I did some drawer swaps between the 4 cabinets. Gotta love the flexibility. The two short green cabinets go to the house. The grey stays as the DP stand and the tall cab is going to replace the autobody bench. I decided I don't really need a mobile bench for the amount of work I'll be doing so getting rid of the black bench frees up about 4 more sq. ft. Plus I don't have to make drawers so one project scratched off the list.

Last picture is the home garage currently. The blue and two green cabs are there now. I'll make a bench top for the green cabs. Promised the wife these will wait to be painted after I finish the Mercedes SL.

I do have a little more room to work with than you but you know what they say about empty space. :bounce: I like everything on wheels too. I'm about 85% there.

Be well, stay cool.

Shorty, when doing a quick drive by shot, you spose to do it from the front.

Not complaining, just saying:bounce::bounce:

Andy, I have no idea how that picture got in here especially of a Toyota.
Jim, when you see her boyfriend, the shoes are just right.
Don, good catch. I was wanting to spray this weekend or next. With the cabinet Tetris, I don't see that happening.
You Florida boys, keep dreaming.

The 3 day weekend was somewhat a bust. I only got about 5 hours QST I think. Worked today on caster Tetris for the cabinet Tetris from last week. I posted me making the dollies for the 3 cabinets I was going to keep. There were two Lista and a Vidmar. Looking at the dollies this weekend, I realized I made them unique sizes to the cab they were going on. :headscrat If they were all the same, I could have swapped out no problem.

Since 2 of the 3 frames were useless, off came all the casters. I'm going to drill and bolt the casters to the cabinets. To give the corners a little bit of support, I wanted to add some mounting pads. I didn't want to use good steel plate so I found these aluminum brackets. For those that remember the big window wall from the loft, these brackets are what held it in place. A trip to the miter saw and the DP, I ended up with 12 pads. (photo 2 & 3)

I'm doing all of this to lower the new-to-me green cabinets one inch. I have to do this so the alignment and rearrangement Nazi doesn't get on to me. I'll try to get the casters switched out this week.

Ok, some background on the Toyota picture. The year was 2005, the place is Laconia, NH. A friend and I were coming from Canada on our bikes and were sitting in hot, standstill traffic outside of Laconia. After about 30 minutes, we were finally getting close to the intersection to make our turn. Oh, what is that? Um, where's the camera? Wait, I think my gas tank is running on fumes and I need a Dr. Pepper. :D
