Christmas in July. Great meet up at Andrew’s. Of course I came home with more than I started with. 96ACCA5E-BE7E-4E68-9A86-B663CD2F5A63.jpegI brought Craig’s old flammable cabinet. Took 6 to load it but just me the expert heavy, bulky item and safe rigger to unload. After unloading, I found out why it was so heavy….50# of casters were inside.

There an essential part of hoarding.... I mean essential part of building the shop. Yeah that's it.
Exactly, on both counts.🤣
In my world casters are essential. They allow me to easily move large hoarded items so I can get to the buckets of smaller hoarded items. Casters on the buckets is also essential.
You just described my shop.🤣

The casters were gifted to me by a strange benefactor. 😜
I too like everything on casters because I haven’t finalized the shop layout and I have moved and will be moving to a different shop. When you come across a nice HD casters set at 25% of new, hard to pass up if you need them.

My day started off with this guy telling me to get my *** out of the recliner. 383EB7AD-F707-427E-8768-95A17B5947AE.jpeg
so Hardee’s and shop here I come. I wrote up a list of small projects I thought I could bang out. From the six months list, this shelf. An old shelf gave me everything I needed. 7A729CCF-1323-4DEE-A0A0-8C256383664A.jpeg
primed, painted and in place. C9B9DFDD-4563-440F-AAFC-ABB12A879FCC.jpeg
while the paint dried, splashed some Ospho on the cab base. E950B02C-B0D3-4088-8F6D-4DD2D63CA57B.jpeg

With paint drying and Ospho osphoing, a clean up run to the recycler. 75EF54AA-C01A-485E-AE48-3B7F97B1B89B.jpeg
nice to get rid of junk, some that’s been laying around for years. Also, the $23 I got covered gas and lunch. Woot woot. Sadly there’s some useful stuff but they won’t sell. F7291F81-C45E-4E80-AB7C-C28CAF9D5668.jpeg
when I got back, cleaned the rest of the cab outside and sanded/cleaned the back of an old sign. 447FF60F-036C-4B73-BA84-07A5C51A83E0.jpeg34F93AB1-FAEE-4CC5-87E7-9F8B3D17308C.jpeg

A couple more quick projects. I’ve had an unopened can of plastic dip for 20 yrs. and finally had something that needed the grips redo. Turned out pretty good. 26C278B8-0C17-4E40-B55D-C20C4EB6AD49.jpeg
while drying I finished up the caster plates for the yellow cab. B92716C8-0EFE-42FB-8E4B-F43E4D059D9E.jpeg
Last but not least, one of my AF buddies got us a DD214 sticker so I put it on the back window. A4AAE36A-9335-41A8-872F-F2B50B023EF2.jpeg
As Steve would say, the list is done and dusted so it was good QST.

Flammable cabinet part deux. Got the caster plates welded on cabinet in place. Went from…..B45F118B-C6B5-4E2F-8104-E0A0441AF7D4.jpeg

to this….93DE3109-A640-4AC7-A97F-8A697967173C.jpeg
I like that it’s lower and wider. I need to get some 16ga sheet metal and bend up two more shelves.

Another project I’ve put off because of past frustration is my right low beam. It stops working and when I check it works.
Got the housing pulled out, turn on the lights and of course…..

it’s working
. F0571655-1D8C-480E-8495-ACDAF42A5033.jpeg
this time I tugged on all the wires, checked the connections, and fuse. Moved light all round and tried numerous light switch combinations and it always worked. Took it for a test drive, hit some bumps, it is still working. Time will tell.
and yes, housings need replacing.

Thanks for your service Shorty  You have been busy! how's the humidity doing in Florida? we have had record rains around here for the month of July, the corn in my field is over 10' tall, mosquitoes are able to carry you off and the temps are starting to get into the 90's. I may have to look into some type of air conditioning for DaBarn

You might not believe it, but those shelves are not too expensive. I bought some for one of my cabinets, they are galvanized and designed to funnel any leaking fluid away from things. It may be worth a look, of course I can’t remember where I bought them, I think it was Zoro.

Humidity is around 125%. It’s been a three shirt day for me down here, way south of Shorty, he probably has it a little cooler up there.

It’s only been just a shade over a year since I took this picture.😜

I can relate on electrical issues, sometimes real hard to get to act up whe; your looking. Hopefully it stays on this time.
