With the cold weather finally subsiding, I might need to see what’s up.
SRX part deux. Well something in the door was tweaked just enough that the new glass fractured some. I found a good door in the right color so was somewhat an easy swap.
The boss is happy so I’m happy.

Using a pair of borrowed clip-on forks worked…kinda.
So finished up the quick release forks for the tractor.
Used Ed’s mill to make the locking hangers.
After a little grinding on the backside of the hitch receiver, everything fits and the forks are going to be a huge help.

Now for the reason for all the tree work.
A 30x50 shop on our new property. Build shop before house right?
Had footers place for any future lift but boo booed on a dimension which caused the footer to be off 4’ on one axis. Luckily I got it before the pour.

While waiting on the building, moving dirt around foundation
Moving all the leftover logs to one burn pile.
And touring FDOT’s Suntrax facility which is used to test traffic sensors and for manufacturers to test autonomous vehicles.
Doesn’t look like it, but the slopes in this maze is quite steep.

Hey Duker!!!!
Thanks, getting there slowly. As they say, a good plan is one that changes constantly. Started as a barndo/shouse but decided to split the two. We’re still going with a hybrid barndo similar to what Texas Best Construction and 1845 Barndo as been doing.

I’ve been on fire getting projects out….no it just really hot while working on projects.
I wanted a tool box for the tractor and instead of buying a readily available clamp on one, I choose the longer route. Looking at my “treasures” I had a nice sized tool box
And a sheet of aluminum
A little long for the pan brake so went old school. Tried my hand at ruff dimple die.
Time to dust off lathe and make a proper set.
After checking to see if the fit was correct, paint.

I posted awhile back the carryall I built.
I saw a video that gave me an idea that allows me to make this attachment multipurpose so out came the portable bandsaw and welder.
Off with the “forks” and added a receiver hitch.
This will allow me to use a ball to move trailers or my cargo carrier that’s been unused.
And the tool box in place. I felt like the orange tray clashed with the roll bar so repainted it. Still need to add the tube holders for yard tools
Going to be nice having tools to adjust the 3-pt, etc. right there.

7:35 Tuesday a 1 ton Ram dualie showed up with a couple of tin cans on a trailer. Yay!
They went straight to work unloading, everyone with their assignments. By 10am they started installing the bents.
Just after lunch, siding was going up.
It was an oven all day but they just kept on. I rode around on the riding mower picking up sticks and felt like I was on the roof.
The plan was two days but they thought they might get done in one.
Around 6pm, I’m sweating and hungry, they’re finished with all the sheet metal and I thought they’d knock off. Nope. Started putting the trim on.
We pulled out around 9:30pm. If I’d gone with their doors and windows, it would have been two days.
They went straight to work unloading, everyone with their assignments. By 10am they started installing the bents.

The next morning headed back down to install the man door. Yes, at 9:30 am it was an oven again but I had an expert sharing years of experience.
Thank you John. It was great learning session. Also the garage door guy stopped in and John got to talk about his experience with the other garage door company in Tallahasee.
The warehouse is 25x60 door on short side, this is 30x50 with two doors on long side. Same square feet but I think the orientation is going to a huge improvement.
Next step, burying 135’ of service cable and mounting a meter.

I ordered the building from Eversafe. Then found out that Carport Anywhere in North Florida was doing the engineered drawings and install. Being in Florida, required hurricane rated from a Florida PE.
For the install crew, the lead was wearing a Carport Anywhere shirt so I assume they work for Carport Anywhere.

More shop progress. The garage doors are installed. Went with the Bubba model with windows.
Also got the Joe Bob standard electric and AC package.
Thought about staining the floor but when it’s so hot sweat is rolling down your legs, it’s time to call it the day.

Just in time!
Spent the last couple of weekends prepping for the garage doors. Had to fab up mounting points for each side of the doors. Measured everything and welded the T at current shop.
It’s been normal hot here but being a desk jockey, it can be brutal inside a hot box.
Fixed up some AC to keep it cool.
Used angle to tie the Ts to the frame.
Doors were scheduled a week ago Monday. They said they weren’t in yet. Last Friday I was told they had to go to Jacksonville Monday to get them but install would depend on the storm. Spent Sunday shoring up the temp doors since my luck would be a post storm install. Monday they asked if I could do install today. Hell yeah!

Door crew showed up at 9am this morning. I now have doors!!!!
While they worked, I rolled and pushed three stumps that weren’t in the burn pile to the pile.
She’s a small tractor but sure has made it a lot easier to do labor intensive chores.
With the real garage doors in place, I can now park tractor and trailer inside. Just in time for Idalia.

Making slow progress. 3 days of trying to install the meter and main panel and still not finished. I thought this would be a one day project…not. Last Saturday got me frustrated trying to work on both sides of the wall and getting everything lined up and within code.
Friday I came up the idea to make templates so I could mock up. Yesterday figured out a game plan and today meter is installed.
And the panel would have been if my cordless sawzall did run out juice.
Plywood is a stand in for the actual plywood that will be the final wall covering.

Proceeding very slowly…and safely. 
Yesterday I was able to dig the trench for the service cable.
Trencher probably would have been quicker but I add access to a backhoe, never operated a backhoe and figured I’d run in clay, lime rock and roots. Luckily no lime rock.
There was a tall stump that might be in the way of the power company when they set the power pole so while I had the back hoe, I tried digging it out. No luck.
So today chainsaw. Little tractor to the rescue again. Hole backed filled. Pole will go where stake is.
Last task of the day was to set up scaffolding (thanks John) for installation of lights. I had a 4’ led hanging on the wall so moved it to the ridge for better temp lighting.
