Last few weeks have been dedicated to carpentry. Shop will be divided down the center. This makes four rooms, dirty work area, clean work area, bathroom and storage room.

Another benefit will be another loft area.

Like they say, once you go lofts……
At the low end, it’s 38” tall. In the center it’s 6’11”. I’ll have a 5’x8’ area that I can stand up in. Not like the whse shop but better than nothing.
Getting tired of all the rain but I’m working indoors. 👍

That's a great loft! Racks for long stuff take up the short areas.

I see they sold you the Lazy A$$ 344. Maybe it was the result of a personality test.

-4F here with snow, enjoy your rain.
I reckoned if the 340 six was good, then the 344 has to even better. Kinda like 442.
I was wondering what that multi choice questionnaire was about. Thanks Andy.

While finding out that a parallelogram and a rectangle aren’t the same thing, I did two quick updates. First was a paper towel holder. Who knew metal walls would be beneficial. Also I had tape measure bite the dust will working walls and I kept the first 8’. Fits nicely beside the garage door rail. If I need a quick measurement, measure it.

So it would lay flat on the wall, it was cut at 48”.

Who stopped by after playing baseball and gave me the idea.

How tall is Shorty :)
OK, so I honestly didn't know.

I'd been on the forum several years when I had the opportunity to go through Tallahassee (to visit some interesting GJ members married to women named Liane).

Shorty and I agreed to meet for lunch, so he directed me to his shop. Pretty cool place, I had admired it online and it was pretty cool to see it firsthand. As I walked in here are these three guys smiling. I realized I didn't know Shorty. Three guys, one shorter, one not.

Eight years ago I met up with Shorty and several other members of the Florida Garage Life crew at the Garlits Museum (the sign over Gerard kinda gives that away) and I have the T-shirt to prove it, since I'm not in the picture.

I also have a photo of me standing next to Andy in Costco. I haven't measured my height lately so I must be 5'2" as well.

Someone needs to measure the height of a Costco shopping cart so we can extrapolate an accurate height for these two jokers.

Be careful hanging around Andy. I believe his camera took that photo on February 18, 2020. About a month before his visit, the first US case of COVID was reported. Andy broke my heart with that visit -- four days later I was in the hospital getting it repaired. He also turned my blondish hair the same shade as his. I wouldn't put up with any of it but after all, he is my other brother.

They're about 18".

COVID hit so we said "let's go traveling before we get sick!"

It was great meeting Bob, but I made him put his purse in the cart so it wouldn't be so obvious.

Shorty paid for my meal and was so tight he came up later to make me pay for his meal. Brought me a great gift from stickyland.

Shorty 2.jpg

He bugged me until I let him sit in the Chevelle.

Shorty 1.jpg

Then he made me let him drive it.

But everyone was too scared to ride with him so we took three cars. We were, however, able to sandwich him between two slower cars to help protect him from himself.

Your height (as well as others) has been marked on the wall next to the tape measure. It's part of the North Florida Safety Skool member recognition algorithm -AI with a Sharpie.
I also have plenty of white chalk.
Great idea, Shorty. Just like the one at the exit door your local convenience store uses to provide descriptions of shoplifters and stick-up artists.
Shhhh it’s a secret.
Yeah ... we know it for getting the right height of the GJ'r walking out with your goodies.
👍
Just for the record, Shorty, I'm 5'2".
And I thought you were 4’ 14”

I will need to sign up for a Shorty's Florida Safety Skool class on "not holding small items in your hand while grinding" these line up nice and were 3 separate instances over 2 days, geesh, you would think I would learn.
@LutzTD, I use vice grips (or pliers in a pinch) for small round things and this Grip-On 912 for small square(ish) things (really great with the Portaband):
Grip-on 912 L-Type Axial.jpg

I still have all five fingers. Creaky and gnarly but still there.

Speaking of safety, how about a quick tip.
If you look down at your shorts…..
IMG_9920.jpeg
And you’re not painting something red, it’s best to stop and take a quick look.

How does it go from 40/25 on Sunday to 74/65 on Wednesday? It Is nice wearing shorts and my safety shoes. 🤗

A couple more truck loads moved from whse to new shop. This repurposed school lunch tray cart nests under this hospital table so will probably keep it.
IMG_9931.jpeg

First time these have been stacked.
IMG_9932.jpeg
The storage room/loft is becoming handy to get organized and have things out of the way.
IMG_9976.jpeg
IMG_9975.jpeg
Rearranged this area, starting to feel like a semi-functional shop (at least half of it)
Fridge, microwave, clock, tunes, battery chargers, tools and hardware.
IMG_9977.jpeg

And to assist with clearing out the whse shop and keep the unfinished side of new shop uncluttered
