I like the loft, it will be nice once it is enclosed and the AC is going!

This thread also reminds me that I need a good appliance dolly with straps. It makes moving things by yourself so much safer. I have almost tipped over things too many times because I did not have a strap around them.

I used to make a similar ride from Lake George to lake Placid then over to Laconia, Boston, then back to Connecticut. Beautiful ride thanks for reminding me of those trips! Glad to see others are enjoying the scenery up there.

Wow Shorty, nice update. I love it when you guys give me something to read when I stop by your threads.

From the pictures, it slab looks good. I really didn't notice the rough edges or high spots. But I'll take your word for it.

Nice man cave you've got there. Maybe someday I'll make a room that I can call my own. (for now I'll be happy in my shop)

Yep, he went post crazy waiting out the storm last night. How did you fair through it all?

And add a TV I hope. Too many good shows and sports you could be watching in there in isolated enjoyment.

Lyndon
Now I'm thinking..... :headscrat

Will do. I have a huge 7" TV in tool room I watch when getting a bit to eat. Being "free" TV, they play old westerns. The Mrs. did say she would like a bigger tv in living room so the 46" world go to bedroom and the 42" could go to the...? Ummm?

You don't need much room for a comfortable chair, frig, a fan, reading light and a place to put a cold one. My current office/hang out does double duty.

Definitely will be nice but it's down on the list.

Appliance hand trucks are nice. I use a ratchet strap when I'm not to lazy to get one. It will be great having it factory functioning.

Thanks for stopping in. It was a nice ride. I guess we had weird weather because it was either raining or hot as hades between NH and DC.

Even though we live in the sunshine state, we probably get more rain than Seattle. Nothing major happen. The one road that floods, flooded.

I thought I catch up with my post. I'll will try to add the Laconia to DC part of the great motorcycle ride soon.

Glad the rubbing stone helped.
I was introduced to one of those back around when I was 18 or so. I was working for a concrete company and they did a lot of commercial and large residential. We poured a lot of stairwells and the owner came by the site and told me to make sure the finishers left clean edges, I was a helper who showed a lot of interest at the time. I told the finishers what the boss said and you can imagine the replys I got.
Couple of months later we were rained out and the boss said he had work I could do instead of going home or to the bar with the rest of them.
Yep, to the stairwell job, stoning all those rough edges. Well, come to find out, the stairs were always rubbed out as you couldn't get to the edges that good with the form in place.
It was a test on me to see how I handled it. I handled it pretty good, went to the bar where the the finishers were and downed about five beers and left, bar tender asked if is was on so and so's tab and I said yes.

Nice clean up on the loft. And just for the record, I hate you. My bike is pretty far down on the to-do list and seeing your pics is rubbing salt in an open wound. So please keep them coming so I'll get off my **** and get around to it.

Hey Shorty, the loft is going to be a good spot to unwind - don't make it too comfortable though, you won't want to leave it.

I just have a couple of cheap hand trucks and just use ratchet straps too - an actual appliance one would be pretty handy.

I look forward to seeing the continuation of your road trip.

I might not be able to post for the next week, duty calls.

So if anyone is bored and has nothing to do, just look at at the To-Do on my whiteboard, pick one and get to work. Boss don't kind to lazy.

Irritant. Here's the cabinet, one on the left.

Isn't that a GJ/ Man code infraction? CB we need a ruling on this.

Still waiting on ruling from CB. If down in the area again just drive couple hours south to my place. My fridge is always stocked EVEN when I leave town. [emoji482]

Hi Shorty
Had some time to kill cause its hot out in my shop today.
I last dropped in just before the design work on your leg and I'd bet you wished you were a thumb sucker again huh.

Are you enjoying your lift yet?
Nice travel log on your last bike trip. I just love road trips but I always take my truck. Never know what one might find to drag back home

Sounds like you Florida guys stay pretty much in touch.

I'll try to stay caught up now

Hopefully with a the big hurdles out of the way, I get get Don busy on some of my resto projects.

if Michelob Ultra is his idea of beer, Dlcwent....be glad he took it with him.

I have to agree with you on that one polexican. I drink Michelob light, but I don't like the ultra. Light is about as light as I can stand, the ultra is a step above water.

:thumbup:We'll kick cb in the *** to get a ruling on that. And thanks for the offer, at least if I sweep your floor I know there WILL be a cold one in the fridge waiting for me when I'm done.

Well it has been raining today on and off. I managed to sit down and read this from the beginning to now.
I have laughed, cringed with fear and shocked with the medical innovations. Man you know how to have a good time. While reading about "the knee", I was reminded about working on my second 55 Chevy 4door. I was cutting the rust out of the front lower corner when the body shell fell off the stands and landed on my legs. Didn't crush them, but I was pinned by the rocker lip. I sat there for about 3 hours until my house mates got home from work. All I could do was to sit and rub my legs to stop a blockage from happening. When the boys got home they grabbed a couple of beers and wandered slowly out to the shed. Man, was I happy to see there ugly dials. Bruising lasted for about 3 months, lucky to have a tire sitting just in the right place, next time it would be mounted to a rim so it won't compress.
Just remember a saying that od fitters at work used top tell the apprentices " you're not a real fitter till you lose a finger or better".
Keep up the good work. can't wait to see the shop finished.

Dan, it's been 13 years since I had an alcohol-containing drink, including beer but I do remember a quaint description of light beer:

"Light beer is like making love in a canoe... it's like f@#king close to water."

That's pretty low Dan, the rest of us wouldn't do that. You could of had Fannie all to yourself if Taumac didn't get there first.:lol_hitti

Yep, infraction all right. My ruling: Shorty must show up to Dans with a case of Dans beer and then proceed to help Dan with his shop list. Of course with Dans car project, that wouldn't be punishment to do.

Then, since he embarassed the FC, he'll need to visit us with a case and ready to work. Might as well take your painting stuff to Taumacs.
I'll be ready here soon as I get back from bike ride.

Don, we do stay in touch quite a bit going back and forth with help, ideas, CL list ads and general harrasment.

It's a blast, met some great guys in the past year and feel like I can trust them with my back anyday.

Even around 750 lb battery's .:D:D

Just wish we weren't so far apart where we could vist each other's shops more.

Fannie Mae has been violated!!!

Ok who did it, Dan or Gerard?

To set the record straight Mich Ultra is what the wife drinks. If I drink beer, I like really watered down Coors Light or Mich Light.
So to fix the situation I found a great deal on some Schlitz and have the frig stocked.

Dan I'll bring the beer as soon as the seats are finished and the top redone. I don't want the Olds in the way when I sweep.

CB, you know if I come down, we'll drink and eat ribs all day while I design the perfect shop layout for you. Might end up with a more efficient layout (sans a Lista) :headscrat
Gerard, it will be a pleasure to visit, drink beer, have you pass out then rearrange your whole garage. :bounce:

Thanks for the ruling CB. I'll get the paint all set up when he returns from Dans.

Don, we do have a good time enabling, harassing, and just having fun. Its gets fun with a group text. It's good just to have general conversation and get to know the others in the FC. As CB said really biggest issue is the distance. CB 3 hours south and Shorty is 3 hours north. I meet some good guys and happy to call them friends now.

LMAO, I going to drive down to watch this whole drunken redesign. I'll have to set up the webcam to broadcast this.

Your more than welcomed over. You like watered down Coors light so few Killians and you might be passed out before me. Hey Craig I need the safety chain. LOL.

I'm glad we finally got a ruling on this. Thanks Craig.

Shorty, nice try. Now I'll get it done twice as fast just to get you here with my choice of beer. Michelob light:thumbup:

Taumac, please video that. It will be a viral sensation. A bunch of old drunks tearing your shop apart. I heard that Shorty was also planning on exchanging a couple of craftsman for some of those green boxes.:lol_hitti

The frig is stocked back with the few leftovers from Daytona. The Mich Ultra, along with some Coors Light, Bud Light, Buttweiser and Angry Orchard. To safe guard my stash this weekend, I've call in the Marines.

The picture above is Lake Michigan. Boy is it big!!! Milwaukee is a pretty nice town along with Madison. Madison has one of the nicest capitals I've ever seen.

Of course I had to see what tool treasures I could find. Not much luck. I did find an old air pump (bicycle?) and a tape for measuring circumferences. A whopping 75 cents.

That's a cool old air pump Shorty. And for a whopping 75 cents, you couldn't go wrong. And happy to hear the fridge is stocked again.
