Sorry you didn't get to the shop.
What happened?
What happened?
I didn’t realize copper rusted. Cutting back the cable, more corrosion was to be found. I guess after 20 yrs, this is to be expected.
Guess no QC at the factory. A quick adjustment had them aligned.
taking 6” off the top tube solved that problem.
I was debating how to cut the tube and remember I have a nice bandsaw now. [emoji16] it was nice not rolling around on a creeper to do the oil change. I also verified that the idler arm was bad (Monday did alignment shop visit) and used the newly connected hose reel to check tires...while standing. [emoji3]
The bases and post are from the GM plant in Atlanta, the Y with screw came from a swap meet find.
Saturday started, ah actually didn’t start because of a corroded ground.I didn’t realize copper rusted. Cutting back the cable, more corrosion was to be found. I guess after 20 yrs, this is to be expected.
Tahoe needed an oil change so after the cable fix, she went on the lift. It was nice being able to plug the pump into new outlet and operate the lift from the side. With the truck lifted, I noticed the arm locks weren’t engaged.Guess no QC at the factory. A quick adjustment had them aligned.
I received a “free” oil drain with lift so tried using it for the first time. Unfortunately it’s for a regular lift. This is at its lowesttaking 6” off the top tube solved that problem.

Another project I’ve been wanting to measure for is high jack stands. The bases and post are from the GM plant in Atlanta, the Y with screw came from a swap meet find.
This past week was productive. The first 4 days of tasked are complete and I ran a lot of errands so all is good....except tomorrow isn’t Saturday.

You know, just because you're shorty, didn't mean had had to buy the short lift[emoji38]_hitti
Sitting under is still better than laying on the back.
Hmm, is that a bandaid on your finger?
Your not sharing all of your adventures in the shop?[emoji38]_hitti[emoji38]_hitti
Nice to have stuff functional.
Nice progress.

Better than the short bus.
And I also wondered about holding out on shop adventures.

Can we call you shiftless now?

As above![]()
And the rest of us salute you.
X3!!!
It's nice when you have the right tools to fix things. And I have the day off due to our military folks, so thank you in more ways than one.

this is the bushing installed in the shift lever. E-clips wouldn’t fit the shift linkage so called the Benz dealership. Yay! They had the clip and I sprang for the factory bushing ($5).

minimal bloodshed this year and for knowing all the great people on GJ. A happy thanksgiving giving to one and all. I’m thankful for our health, being able to wear fine Florida footwear for turkey dinner.minimal bloodshed this year and for knowing all the great people on GJ.

and 32* temp. Now this wouldn’t be Strouty’s snow regifted? This is all the snow I need. A frosted windshield. ......

I tried selling but no takers so new tires will be saved for enclosed trailer and steel channel used for future projects. Freeing up parking will be a plus.
and one new hole in a sign post, I have a nice stand for the new water hose.
The 2x8 is from the initial shop demo, so it’s the gift that keeps on giving. All fun and games till someone steps in a puddle!![]()
Congrats on the new truck.

Ditto on that... I was wondering how long you were going to hold out as much you, Craig and Gerard, scavenge, trade, barter and hit the auctions!
