If you have fragile feelings or faint at the sign of blood, wrong thread.

Yeah, you guys are pretty rough on each other! LOL But you DO have a good time.

Desk turned out great BTW. Many of us are spending a LOT of time at our home desks lately during this COVID thing. Might as well make it nice. I actually like working from home, mainly because I don't have that 40 mile round trip each day to the office. And its great signing off from work and being in the garage 5 minutes later tinkering.

Maybe not exactly what you wear, but if you have these, you can drop heavy stuff on your toes with impunity!

Just think of all the time you could of saved taking those batteries out, you could of said:

“ I don’t need any stinking jacks, I’ll just pull those trays out and let them fall on my toes to soften the blow”

And the frisbee, no fear of it falling over and chipping the concrete, just stick your foot out.

Think of the possibilities!!!!!:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:beer::beer:

I love those kind of road trips, back woods and all.

That desk you built looks pretty good but what caught my eye is the 3 screens to look at and you speak about the window??

One screen is for my personal computer that’s been in this spot since moving here.
The other two are my work computer. There’s still another monitor back in my office. I’m a 3 display kinda guy.
About the window. I’ve been set up at the dining table until I could get this top built. Also my office at work is in the middle of the building so I don’t know if it’s day or night, snowing or not outside. You’d think after 3 yrs, they’d take the Janitor Closet sign off the door.

Ok, gotta know. What the heck were you doing with that frisbee? It looks massive!

Oh the frisbee is a Florida thing. GJFC doesn’t mess with those wimpy plastic ones. The only problem was Craptain got his nickname when he tried to throw it.

Mark, The 1-minute roll out of bed, roll in to office chair commute is nice. The noon siestas are even better.

CB, Shoes? We don’t need no stinkin’ shoes. I’ll have to check those out.

Preach that commute thing. I pray we never go back. I took an $800 a month temporary pay cut, and with the money I save in gas and tires, we don't even miss it. And the 5 minutes to get to the shop, is WAY to long. My office is in the shop. And I do like the lunch crowd better. I better, I married her.

$800 seems like a lot but like you said, gas, wear and tear, eating out and time are those cost we don’t really think about.
The lunch crowd is definitely better.

Oh you won’t wear flops but we find a bra hanging in your shop. We still don’t believe use use it for ear muffs. lol

Shorty, look, being the bra is in different positions, I’m assuming after using and hanging back up after each use so they could very well be ear muffs.

I had to fill up everyday, $15, 6 days a week, when gas was $2.50 a gallon. A new set of tires every year. Wife was $20, every other day, set of tires every other year. Daughter was $35 a week for gas. We don't count her tires. That's over $700 just in gas, at $2.50 a gallon.

Wow that’s a lot of filling up. Amazing how much things add to once you actually put it on paper.

Today was another beautiful warm 90-something degree day.
Started off with trying to check codes on my truck. Whatever happened to air, fuel, spark? I guess my battery is getting old (like me) because I got a low battery alert and the truck wouldn’t start. Break out the charger. While waiting, I got the riding mower wheels full of Slime. Looks like that’s working.
Next up, some Tahoe love. Decided to see if it would start. Yay, it did. Checked the ****** fluid and had to add some. Let’s see how it drives. After some warm up, drove like a Cadillac. There wasn’t a gushing leak so I might have overfilled or miss the filler tube. Since she sat outside while waiting on the SL paint job, she was grungy. Nice and clean now. 61678571643__4B69DC53-12FF-4FA9-AB96-D5B0F2FDCBCE.jpg

Still waiting on the battery to charge, I worked on existing projects. I fit the rails for the drawer I made several months ago for my service cart. Got to get some paint so it should be done tomorrow.
While cutting the rails I noticed the guides on Powermatic band saw weren’t adjusted properly so that was a quick fix. Doing that led me to check out the vintage CM horizontal band saw that wouldn’t cut correctly. Looks like the idler wheel bushing is worn, causing the blade not to track straight and flex. To be or not to be....a basket case.
Well th-th-that’s all folks.

225 mile daily commute for me. Nothing fancier for ear muffs? No lace?

No, nothing fancier, it was the only one the old lady had at her yard sale. It was weird enough holding her bra and paying her while she’s kinda looking at me funny, asking if I was interested in the tools she had for sale, “no, I looked them over, just this bra is all”

That mental image was a great way to start my day. I'm still chuckling.

WARNING: Painting Alert

Sunday was finish up the rail/tray project. I needed to weld the corners of the tray that were bent up several months ago. IMG_0701.jpg The welds and uneven side height was knocked down with the belt sander. Burrs and sharp edges were hit with the EXL wheel.
then it was off to paint. IMG_0703.jpg it’s great having gallons of Mercedes Red. Lol.
While that dried, I put my AF sticker on my truck. IMG_0707.jpg
Paint dried enough to put rails in. Used pop rivets. IMG_0708.jpg and the finished project. IMG_0710.jpg
Scratch project 491 off the list.

Didn't Shorty tell me that once I got the dump truck running you were cool with me loading it and the trailer with a few dozen projects to drop off at your place?:dunno:

Shorty told me that he was giving me a rebuilt dump truck loaded with some cool scrap that I might be able to use for future projects.

Something's fishy at the shed of Shorty.

Definitely. The project consists of letters C,O & E right? I’ve already got a volunteer set up to help.

Had a great weekend. Didn’t hurt that it started at 1pm Thursday. Headed to central Florida for a sale and meet up with Craig and Mark on Friday. Some goodies. Craig found these 3M cabinets and a nice hand truck for me. df8239f33b166af39833208f701ea64f.jpg seems like every time we meet, I’m a Benjamin lighter.
From sale. Note I went for a magnifying lamp and a couple of wood handles. Let’s see how that worked out. 7816763b1d3aa8d9bf963a7ca4d3e179.jpg0c2bc7922069e2e67bbce4671b0a9501.jpg2b0723c06ee32962606d86b40367f334.jpg
I was shocked that I found a Mity vise. The round disc are bolt hole gauges with thread pitches on the side. They will be super handy. The fan surprisingly is two speed, oscillates and runs smooth.
Then it was off to lunch and a tour of the insane shop, the Asylum.
