This weekend is our lucky 7th wedding anniversary so beach getaway. While here, did some UV testing on some safety shoes.
When we got back to the car found this newly placed sign and a parking ticket. Gotta love the integrity of some LE agencies.

When looking for rooms in Fernandina/Amelia Island, $120 hotels were well over $300. I could understand if it was next weekend but this one?
Turns out it’s Concours de Elegance weekend (general admission ($125/day) [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15]
At the beach found a car show more my speed.
Coming home from dinner last night this one passed us. Well maybe it was tomorrow?

Doing? Recovering from my lobster look.

Since you asked.
Doing house cleaning of lift bay so I can get back on tonneau. I swapped out the 45° elbow on one lift post with a 90. Now the hose doesn’t stick out. Picture to follow.
Figured a year was long enough for the new paint on trailer rims to dry so mounted the tires and got them stored away.
Still working on the top brackets for welding cart. Decided to use some of the flat bar from old bench. Cut, drill, tap
Tried doing the bend in new brake but piece is short and slips so will need to figure a better setup.

While at it wanted a face shield hanger for cart so off to scrap bucket. First pick was a jumper strap from Christine’s batteries. Thought it was aluminum until I cut it. Guess it’s nickel plated copper. Saving these for the future.
Next up from bucket was straps the came with this bucket of cutoffs. It would spring back when bending so I think it’s spring steel.
3rd times a charm. Bucket yielded this. Bent in vise with a hammer then dumb *** me remembered I have the Grizzly vise brake.
While the bandsaw was warmed up and I saw some round stock in the bucket, decide to cut pieces for dolly posts. Something I’ve been wanting to build for a long time. these will wait, got to find someone with a ball turner.
Last was getting a unused part of our new entertainment center up into loft for storage. Love me some shrink wrap for moving furniture.

or buy, only $60-ish. I don’t have a mill but know some kind fellows that might let me use theirs.

More fun today. Breakfast with mom then a nice nap before QST. More clearing, I converted a unyielding display rack into a more practical rack.

while building this, I realized the benefits of having a clear bench and the hardware drawer being right next to it.

Part of clearing/cleaning involves cutting down this 2” x 24” disc. Trying to cut this with an undersized tip was as good as Tiny Tim trying to make Linda Lovelace fulfilled.

While the disc cooled, I decided to try out new casters (right)

also tried out a new dunnage method

One down, 19 to go

...but not this weekend.
And the floor is seeing more daylight

Yeppers, when I swap these out I’ll then have several eclectic sets for the collection

Morning started off with installing the other 3 casters. Imagine, no fanfare or tip overs.

discovered a great tool for aligning the holes.

finally.....returned to the tonneau cover. The last layer of epoxy was really orange peeled so taking longer than I’d wish. Progress though.

With the tonneau move, the floor is opening up.

That's how most of my projects go... short, furiously intense bursts of activity interspersed with extended periods of nothing.
