Absolutely! I got the hard handle just so I could clean grease off easy haha. And wow, that’s awesome. I really don’t have a use for it but good to know they it could fetch some decent money.
UPDATE: I pulled the trigger on the USA Tekton screwdrivers, some Capri 3/8 and 1/4 inch ratchets and tekton sockets. They arrived 2 days ago and I couldn’t be happier! Seems like good quality stuff that should last a bit for what I need them for. Also, I found a Snap-On FLL80 3/8” ratchet for 35 bucks at some old thrift shop … I really don’t need it, so what do y’all think it’s worth?
No use for an FLL80? Something’s wrong with this picture. It’s the worlds best serpentine belt tool.
When people talk about tool brands:
1) Companies like HF, Sunex, etc aren’t manufacturers, so quality is subject to change and well documented here. Not sure where the confidence in these distributors‘ products comes from. Great that you got lucky. Congrats. Buyer beware.
2) The 6 and 12pt sockets in my 56” long socket drawer make up about 1/4 of the drawer space. Sockets are not expensive. They are also only one small part of a toolset.
We seem to equate ”tools” with 6 pt sockets. 6pt sockets are a very small part of my basic automotive tool kit in terms of storage space and money spent.
I also would ignore warrantees on 6pt sockets. If you break a socket you should either:
a) find a new activity you are better suited for
or
b) buy a better brand of sockets.
Exception: if you are a pro mechanic like
@2ndGearRubber and you break stuff, that’s part of the job and part of the justification of truck tools.
