This is about the only good deal in the real deals. I didn’t bother posting this quarter since I couldn’t find much and didn’t want to get everyone’s hopes up.

Fujiya pliers wrench $23. Knipex 10 inch equivalent. Would say not quite as nice as Knipex overall, but would say Knipex isn’t exactly twice as nice as for over 2x the cost. Taiwan made. The jaws seem slightly wider which are nice on hose fittings and the push button adjust is bigger than Knipex which is better with gloves on or in general. This is probably my 2nd or 3rd post if I haven’t convinced you to buy them yet.

sorry I was too lazy the clean off the mud for those who are tool polishers out there.

I got a pair of 8" slip joint pliers with a pretty decent wire cutters that is starting to grow on me. Carlyle brand, no pictures. Just go to a Napa that stocks hand tools.

ever since the real deals stopped being real and no new inventory by a forum member I've been a bit light on my Carlyle buying
Yeah without proper deals it not the value or only choice you got .
Some of the past deals simply were too cheap to not take advantage ...
Other issue is range not really expanding offering anything remarkably new/innovative ...

Pretty quiet these days on the Carlyle front. I noticed Napa hasn't posted on their Carlyle social media page since December or January? Anyway I've been looking for a standard length P90 3/8 comfort grip ratchet and finally saw one in a Napa store I dropped into on a whim and had to get it. This pretty much competes my collection of nearly all drive sizes and styles. I really like these ratchets!

Carlyle has some excellent tools! I too have been curious about their social media footprint. The amount of items out-of-stock is also concerning, but that was going on long before post-covid supply chain issues were a thing.

NAPA‘s marketing of the Carlyle brand has been weak since their introduction a decade ago. Many specific tems have been out-of-stock for more than a year or two.

I bet it’s a safe guess that Carlyle will eventually be going bye bye in favor of carrying brands with more name recognition like Craftsman and GearWrench.

My Napa has a surprising amount of Carlyle in stock. I would be disappointed if they did away with the brand. Although I do understand that Napa needs to streamline their tool lineup.

I'm disappointed that NAPA hasn't put forth a better effort at marketing Carlyle tools. I have some ratchets and have been very interested in some other tools but around here you have to just about beg for access to Carlyle other than NAPA's very user unfriendly website.

I've never understood NAPA's approach to hand tool marketing. It seems like every time they get something decent going as they previously had with New Britain and later with Apex, they just seem to lose interest. It appears on the surface that Carlyle is suffering that same fate.

Educated guess in that your Napa might be a corporate store. You walk into a franchisee and its like what Carlyle? What warranty? What sale?!? Plus any Carlyle tools are usually locked up behind the counter...

For those disappointed I think you would be pleasantly surprised if you find a corporate owned store preferably near one of their distribution centers. Wish their store locator would delineate between the two. Anyone in the SF Bay area happen to know which stores are corporates?

I thought I'd give this a bump with my carlyle ratchet collection. I also have some non comfort grips in my portable boxes and non comfort grip Snap On Dual 80s in my socket drawer. Most of these were purchased over the years on sale. I cringe to think of the $$$$ equivalent in Truck brands.

Looking good! Is that a Carlyle box or hf? I love these ratchets and want to add more as time allows.

Nice collection. Did you stock up from user in the GJ classifieds?

Carlyle is trying to match tool truck pricing these days. The mountain double box ratcheting wrenches in this quarters real deals are $358. Matco is $365. :0

It's a 56"US General. Im still getting my garage sorted after my move. This is in my single double deep stall in a "4 car" overall size. Im thrilled about the space and got the new box when I relocated last year. The toolmobile made the move and my craftsman stack lives between my garage doors at the front of the house.

I was thinking hard about a Carlyle or Homak box but the "bang for the buck factor" was just too heavily weighted in the US generals favor. I love the box, the drawer depth, layout etc. The only drawback is I prefer the drawer latch on the Homak or Snap-on boxes better but overall this is great.

No, one or two I ordered online and had delivered, and some I picked up at various napa stores when out and about around the country for work.

That's crazy about the double box ratcheting wrenches! I got the Carlyle set on sale for $245 last october knowing the identical Icon were $199 and the mountain ones even cheaper. I just wanted them to match my Carlyle stuff and figured (hoped) napa would be easiest to warranty if the need ever arose. They are great wrenches FWIW.

I'm pretty sure Napa bases the pricing based on garage journal interest. Just start saying these wrenches are junk and watch the price drop, LOL.

Hopefully Carlyle doesn't price themselves out of the market here. They had a good thing going, but I reckon they stacked a 30% inflation factor this past quarter on not so good pricing in the first place.

Definitely love those double box end ratcheting wrenches. Have the Mountain versions, but am SOL on any warranty claims apparently. Am trying to go easy on them although sometimes I swear they are the only tool that fits in certain spots so sometimes its pull and pray.

Carlyle is still around??

It has been over 2 years now since many of the Carlyle ratchets and breaker bars were available. I like NAPA and Carlyle, but their marketing team couldn’t manage their way out of a nut sack.

This has been going on long before Covid and supply chain issues.

Needless to say, I’ve moved on. I don’t like being told “out of stock” every time I try to purchase something.

Another great, quality tool brand bites the dust. They’ll probably clearance out what they have left and that’ll be it for Carlyle. Such a shame.

Based on this months hot deals cover, I would say that Carlyle is not going away. I asked a store counterman and he said he hadn’t heard anything about it going away. Let’s hope not, I really like their tools. I think the flex ratchets not being offered may have something to recent worldwide supply chain issues. Their flex heads are fantastic and are my favorite ratchets

You guys got me excited but it's the same overpriced stuff as always. I mean, 357$ for the same extra long dbe ratcheting set that everyone also sells for well under 200?? What am I missing
