WOW.
How'd you make the drawing? Photoshop?

At first I thought maybe "European" because of the design, but then I downloaded and enlarged your images and noticed the square cut gullets and thought "textile mill".

I'm seeing a "W" in there that could possibly mean "wool" or "woolen".

That's my initial "I've-been-on-this-page-for-less-than-90-seconds" best wild guess.

Anyone out there with searching skills that are better than mine? I can't find any information on this stamped DOE. It is marked K233302. Both openings are 1/2-inch. It is 4-inches long and 3/16" thick. No markings on the other side.

Interesting. Looks like a stamping from relatively thick stock.

What does the other side look like?

About how thick is it?

Sorry, missed the thickness note.
I was wondering if the wrench is indeed a stamping or a forging or a casting.
It looks like it is stamped. The other side might indicate a "punch or die" side.
The edge might indicate evidence of a punch or a parting line or some other clue.

Wallace & Tiernan (W & T) P-8200 Wrench; 1/2, 3/4 & 3/8 square

A Wrench from Wallace & Tiernan likely for use in maintaining water purification equipment.

The following is from the August 2012 edition, Spanner & Wrench Collector newsletter of “Hand Tool Preservation Association of Australia” (htpaa.org.au) where members discovered the origin of similar Wrenches.
“The Wallace & Tiernan name comes from Americans Charles Wallace and Martin Tiernan, who got together in 1909 to develop a means of introducing chlorine into water to make it safe for drinking.”
“Fortunately one of the smaller ones was marked Wallace & Tiernan Australia / P8200”

The PDF is interesting reading for tool accumulators anywhere on earth.

The FASTNUT picked up at a local car boot sale on Sunday and the two Hazets were picked up on Saturday at a motorcycle jumble where there was tons of tools.

Almost 100years between the top one and the two Hazet spanners.

The FASTNUT is the first of this type of spanner that I've bought and at 4 1/4" long, it must be about the smallest size of this type of ratcheting spanner made.

Cool wrench. I don't know that I have ever seen one that seems to be explicitly made and marketed for the bicycle or motorcycle market. I have a SIMPLEX RATCHETING wrench marked "FASTNUT LICENSE" (see attached). These were made by the Simplex Wrench Company here in the US under license to the British enterprise and famously advertised in late 1920's era Snap-on (Motor Specialty Company) catalogs. More on that topic, including the catalog excerpts, the original Cook patent (GB-194,041 / March 8, 1923), some photos of other "BRITISH MADE" FASTNUT wrenches with a handsome black ox finish, and more, here.

I'm a sucker for kitschy wrenches with kitschy branding like this...

20260313_140004.jpg

...plucked out of the bottom of a toolbox littered with tiny wrenches at the flea market this morning.

According to 4.c's A-Z Mfgrs List (which is the only thread on GJ the.GJ Search engine returned any hits on the term "FIX'N'SAVE"), the term "Fix-N-Save," with hyphens, was TM'ed by Spiegel Brothers...
Steelcraft / Steelcraft Tool Corp., 36-50 31st St., Long Island City, NY / Spiegel Bros. Corp. (same address) / "Fix-N-Save" / est. 1919, acquired by Atlas Tool Group, Long Island City, NY / https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=478374 / https://books.google.com/books?id=7U66AAAAIAAJ&pg=PA2190&dq=Spiegel+Brothers /
...and I did find that TM notice when searching Google Books.

1773426868979.png

I don't know if the syntax in this wrench ("FIX'N'SAVE"), with apostrophes, is an attempt by some other entity to circumvent that TM, or if it's one in the same and just a slightly different allowable expression of it, but its proliferation, as evidenced by this 1962 Consumer Bulletin (unattributed mfgr, snippet only views) roasting the poor quality...

1773426726137.png

...certainly matches Spiegel's Bros' diversity of use in the TM application, and, they were big importers, so I am going with Occam for now.

Occam for the win (y)

It would appear that the manner in which the brand name was expressed on the products and the packaging was not always necessarily an exact match to the graphic on the trademark document:

Fix'N'Save (Japan) 8-in adjustable wrench and SAE ignition wrench set (ebay 234321149385 01).jpg

Fix'N'Save (Japan) 12-pc 3.8 hex drive SAE socket set (ebay 174998686929 08)

ebay search for fix-n-save returns 63 items, most of which are branded Fix'n'Save
ebay search for "fix-n-save" returns 63 items, most of which are branded Fix'n'Save
ebay search for "fix'n'save" returns 63 items, most of which are branded Fix'n'Save

ebay's search feature doesn't make the distinction between ' and - (I've already determined that with S-K - you can search "SK" or "S-K" or "S_K" and you'll get the same returns.)

I am somewhat puzzled by the 657386 number, which appears to be a trademark on the name "Mercedes Benz".

...a Massey Harris Ferguson plow wrench.
Found one at the flea market today, Rags. I didn't realize how heavy they were! The forged-in rule on the flip side shank is supposedly used to measure either fuel level or blade settings or some such thing, but I could see it being used to whack something into place, too. :)

Also plucked this one out of an old wooden toolbox at the flea market this morning. If there's another one on GJ it's not coming up in a search of "Deane" or "Deane of Holyoke."

I've got a Ford plough wrench with dents on the big end, suggesting it's been used as a whacker. Mossberg made, I do believe.

IMG_1081.jpeg

Speaking of hefty double-enders, Don posted one of these M. KLEIN & SONS CAT 3146 wrenches in the Bell System thread, but the smaller unmarked version is the first I've seen.

IMG_1088.jpeg

IMG_1086.jpeg

jeffmoss26 says the big one is a "wrench for installing climbing hooks/wire clamps on telephone poles."

They're sort of quadruple-open-end wrenches, because both ends fit two different sizes. Although, the smaller end of the bigger wrench actually fits three.

IMG_1091.jpeg IMG_1090.jpeg

While I was digging through the DOE box, I also pulled out this old Studebaker TIRE CARRIER WRENCH.

IMG_1082.jpeg

The other side has a <B> in a diamond and the numbers 3 678225, with an odd backwards Ƨ.

Just ran across this post. Could be a long shot but the KXXXXX is Plomb was part of a contract production for Douglas Aircraft.
Here is the Plomb part numbers. Hopefully it's not a wild goose chase.

Dropstamco brand made by Drop Stamping Company Ltd. of Birmingham. Dual marked in Whit. and BSF sizes and un-plated.

This spanner probably dates to the 1950's and the company seems to have ceased trading in the 1960's.

A search shows that the Dropstamco name only has one other appearance on this forum.

A partial set of wrenches. It’s looks like it’s missing the 1/2” x 9/16”. It’s not a brand I’m familiar with as it just says special steel on the one side and drop forged on the other. Thought they might be half decent as they’re made in West Germany…
