Thanks. That makes much more sense given the looks of the wrench. I know I've seen their machinery before and it looked vintage. I must've looked at the wrong Whitney. Having a bad day.
Added another wrench (1416 - 1/2 x 7/16) to the 1920s era Kraeuter collection...
I have been following the couple of threads concerning Evaporust etc.,.Those look good, leg!
Funny how that happens. They just accumulate seemingly from nowhere. There's never been a Toyota in the family
Where at?Mmm…Bethlehem Steel started in and was headquatered in Bethlehem PA, but had numerous plants in multiple locations spanning the US.
Researching a corporation whose name is the same as the city of its headquarters and most famous facilities is difficult; you can’t put a boolean “-Bethlehem” into the search field. Lawsuits were somewhat helpful, but I didn’t follow up on all of them, so probably missed many sites. In addition to making steel, BSCorp owned iron and coal mines, wire-rope and rebar manufacturing, shipyards, etc. A hand-engraved common-sized wrench could have been used almost anywhere.
Here are a few sites I found with internet searches:
Seattle WA
Los Angeles CA
San Francisco CA
Beaumont TX
Burns Harbor IN
Lackawanna NY
Staten Island NY
Quincy MA
Hoboken NJ
Wilmington DE
Jacksonville FL
Miami FL
Johnstown PA
Williamsport PA
Nicholas Co WV
3 mines in eastern Kentucky

InterestingBut more to the point, Bethlehem was registered in 46 states, in which it conducted business, like constructing the Chrysler plant near Belvidere IL.
