I am so psyched to be able to share in this thread. On Monday —- I took possession of a “backyard buddy 7k classic” —- made in Ohio using mostly local materials. It is a little bit overkill for what I am looking to do, but the best part is that the lift doesn’t have to be bolted to the floor; and will allow me to do work on our fleet of cars that will not require me laying on my back to complete.

I did shop around a bit (challenger, atlas, bendpak, etc) - but this set up seemed to be the best value and it came with a little rolling jack platform, as well as some drip trays so that what’s below will not be coated in ....

I installed this Forward EFP9000M 4-post last May. Something I found interesting is that the Forward EFP9000M and DirectLift Pro Park 9 Plus are actually one and the same. In fact, my Forward lift arrived with both brands decals on the posts. The hydraulic unit is labeled as from Rotary, to boot.

The only real modifications I've done to the lift itself are the addition of LED lights along the rails and a power strip under one of the ramps (which also powers the LED lights). Other than that, the lift is "stock", and I do use it very frequently.

@derkperk: thank you for the congrats.... I’ve been into both of those cars, but naturally, the 911SC turns a lot more heads, if that is the goal. I think that I posted a bit about the background of that car a bit in my little thread (if you’re interested).

I'm just finishing up my shop now. The only think I've lifted so far is a bench to paint window trim but I think I'm going to be very happy with it. Challenger 10k asymmetric. It will get use soon. It's time to get three race cars ready for the upcoming season.

Ceiling is 10.5’ but I lose a good 10” because of the garage door opener. The XJ is not as high as it goes in this photo, since I was getting ready to do brakes. If I lift it as high as it can go, I still have to slouch a bit.

It was over year in planning, and measuring, and talking myself into and out of it, and re-measuring and pausing discretionary spending for a time, then the wife got sick of hearing me talk about it and said, if you want the lift, get the lift.... little did she know I’d follow through with it.

The kids are in full wonderment as well.... “Diana’s up in the air”. Little dark humor on the name of the Mercedes

Purchased this Harding Lift used. Used for storage only and configured so that a SUV could be parked under the lift. Did not want to disassemble for transport and made a platform on my car trailer to haul it home.

It was polished and then sealed. Oil spots have come off without staining so far.

Mohawk lifts are individual pistons per side. You can actually move one side and not the other should you chose to. They are independent of each other. Rather slick set up. But you pay a good premium for them.

So if you want to raise both sides simultaneously, how is that done? How does one post "communicate" with the other?

The hydraulics are connected, only one pump. I have one also.
All you need to tie them together are hoses, rigid hydraulic lines under over or around you shop.
