TheRobotCow - Those are very nice pictures. I especially like the one with the extra long combination wrenches. Thanks for posting those.

I've been looking at those stubby ratcheting wrenches how do you like them?
Do they feel solid?

NOT TRUE!! Cornwell only manufactures some of their hardline in the US. If you were to pick up a Cornwell price sheet, only those items printed in bold print are actually made by Cornwell in the USA. Each year the amount of bold print decreases.
For example: Screwdrivers: black/blue handled ones Taiwan made, Orange or blue handled ones made in Germany. Fine tooth ratcheting wrenches made in Taiwan. All torx, hex, bit drivers are Taiwan made. Most of their pliers are Asian made. those that are US made are Channellock rebadges. Current tool boxes are hencho in Mexico at the Waterloo plant.
What are you left with that's US made? 30 tooth ratchets, sockets, extensions, and wrenches. Not that much when you look at their whole catalog.
Some of my nicest tool dealers over the years have been Cornwell Dealers but, their line isn't all US made. There are lots of rebadges that can had for less from the original manufacturer. I have several of their tools but, don't think everything they sell is US made.[/QUOT
I visited the Cornwell truck and although wrenches, ratchets, sockets look extremely nice most items look to be outsourced from other companies and can be bought at or below Cornwell's price. Bought a pair of knipex 8 inch needle nose. Passed on their Taiwan made screwdrivers. I'll order Felo 500's instead. Really surprised looking at the price sheet how little is made in the USA. Post quoted sure nailed it. Prolly will try a ratchet at some point.

New Corny box end wrenches. On sale in my area for $296 this month. Sorry about the plastic... hadn't opened them yet.
Out of all of the long double box end wrenches those seem to be the strongest feeling. They aren't as thin as the rest.
Traded my TR72LH for a TR4. I'm starting to notice the chrome on the fine tooth ratchets chip easy. The USA cornwell ratchets I haven't had any chrome problems. I love the USA made ratchets but the fine tooth made over seas really lack. I've had good luck with Cornwells hardline stuff. I have a set of wrenches, a lot of chrome sockets and ratchets.
On the ratchets, do they all have a quick release button?
Anyone have a Cornwell Box?
