A couple of pics of my box when I got it. I have since repainted it grey. I bought it at a garage sale from a retired SeaBee. He said he used it on the boat for years. I do not have a current pic.

Come on now, I see an American classic in there. Looks like a stacked leather handle Estwing to me [emoji481]

Agreed though, that is a nice setup.

Do you guys where this guy Estwing was born? SWEDEN!
Info:
"Estwing was born in Södvik Öland (Sweden) in 1884 and thereafter resided including Persnäs, but emigrated to the US in 1900. The new surname was referring to his childhood home on the eastern cape, or wing, in Persnäs"

A nice, small toolbox, I do not regret this purchase and would recommend it.

I have that same stanley fatmax tool bag at work, and the backpack version at home. The back pack swallows things upo so easy man. WHat kind of work do you do mayi ask?

I liket the FatMax toolbag too, for that price you can't get wrong. The prices for Veto Pro Pac's here in Germany are far, far, far....beyond good and evil.

I'am a professional plumber, but the stuff on the pics are all my private 'toys' with an orientation to my job.
Here in Germany it is common, that the tools are provided by the company where are you working.

I have a small set of Craftsman hand tools in a 16" metal tool box. The set doesn't have many tools but it does work on a lot of stuff while on the go. It has mainly SAE tools but it also has some metric tools also.

If I need to run out somewhere on a moments notice I grab it and go.

I work at a goodwill, and I just sent one of these out to floor with original leather handle and brown wrinkle powered coat on it, little dented but it can be fixed. I'm hoping its still there at the end of my shift.

Ahh okay in the UK a tradesman has to supply his own tools for the most part

For years I have always filled up this little Snap-On box with stuff from my garage set when I needed to do a job away from home or needed a travel kit. This year, I decided to go ahead and put together a dedicated portable kit that is always ready to go. I'm not finished building it yet and already run out of room.

I always liked the Craftsman Rally Boxes with the black crinkle finish. I remember they were more expensive than the standard red and black three drawer portable Craftsman box. I should have bought one when I worked there. Anyway, I found one on Fleabay and bought it for $43.00 total. Looks to be solid other than a few scrapes and scratches. Here is a link to a picture of it, unfortunately Flickr is not cooperating with me right now.

Ha. BTW, They sell a nice bucket organizer at home depot for like $8 bucks or something. I have a bunch of hammers and pry bars, screwdirvers etc in one. Totally worth the $12 total invsetment (including 5G tool-bucket!). I wouldn't call anything in that bucket a precision instrument, tho.

This is mine, it fits perfectly behind the passenger seat in my 944 Turbo track car and fits all the essentials. I'll have to take another picture of it with contents.

I know what you're thinking, why on earth would you get a KTC SKC-M tool box for your German track car, why not the obvious choice of a Hazet 190L? I like the KTC version since it only has 2 cantilever fold outs which allows full access to the bottom of the box, on the Hazet version the bottom is never fully accessible. Plus the KTC version is cheaper and more unique, as much as I love my Hazet stuff, it is SO expensive.

Love the tool box. I'm a sucker for these pastel colors.

^^^ What's the size of that box? The Hazet one looks pretty enormous as per the dimension specs.

I just got this for Christmas. Other than screw drivers, T-handles and a few odd and ends to pack along, pretty good gift.

I have an older Kennedy 1022 that I want to use as my portable box. However in my box the bottom trays have all of the dividers in them, this is excellent for a machinist box but as far as using it for mechanics tools I am not sure what would go in those spaces. Im looking for picture of the 1022 with those spaces and what is kept in them. Thanks in advanced for the help guys.

Heh, this ol blue 18" hip roof was my very first steel toolbox. I have had it for 40 years now. Used to always be loaded up and on the passenger side floor of my first two pickup trucks .Still in good shape a little light rust here and there from being used hard. And I still use if need be :D

Earlier last year I found a pristine Craftsman 24" steel box with twin side handles at the Flea mkt for $20. I couldn't resist getting it. Always had my eye on them in the Craftsman catalogs when I was younger. Sure it's "portable" but wow even without tools dang is it ever heavy!

I have a cantilever Craftsman of similar vintage and patina.
This one has had a rough life, but it is still in use. It was my dad's portable box that he took everywhere he needed tools including summer road trip vacations. On one trip we were rear ended badly and the box was smashed up and he bought a new one. About 25 years ago I pulled it out of the junk pile, hammered it straight, and put it back in to use. I don't know for sure how old it is(70's maybe), but the majority of the time I have owned it it has been my race track box and contains mostly craftsman tools.

Mine was my grandfathers. You might still be able to see the dents in it as well. e7772c16c88bb0f9add4f071f88f1f2b.jpg

My brother lives in a two-room cottage by a lake, with no garage. He needed a portable toolbox that he could wheel around, so I found this:
i-NHfkNL6.jpg

Only problem was that it is only available in the UK, so with shipping and currency fees, it came to about $250. It's a bit pricey for what I got, I think it's a little flimsy. But I couldn't find anything in the US that was close with respect to the number of drawers. The top three pieces separate and have their own carrying handles. My brother loves it.

Here's where to find them: Motamec Tool Boxes

Damn, that box has my exact initials stamped into it.. never even heard of em before.. it literally has my name on it lol.

KTC (Kyoto Tool Co., Japan) makes great stuff, I'm a big fan of their wrenches. Sadly that box was discontinued...
