Is this considered portable? It is for me. Just got it last week so still have to organize it.

Comment to subscribe :) I'm currently putting together a junkyard set and this thread is full of win. I'll post pics when complete.

Anyone use multiple carry around tool boxes at home rather than a few big ones?

Up until earlier this year I did (as a shadetree hack). Got the 44" HF bottom box. Love it. Still need to be kinda 'mobile' though so I keep most of my socket stuff in a 19" three drawer on top and wrenches in wrench rolls. Hey that probably fits this thread :) Though that 19" is pretty heavy.

Posted this over in another thread, but my Snap-On KRA65C. Mostly threw it together as a grab and go for line maintenance, but I use it everyday in the hangar as well.

That's a slick setup you got there...

This is mine.
Depends about what job i have to do, i put the specific tool in it.
The toolbox is Romanian made from IUS, part of the MOB Group.
Very well made.
The branding with Milwaukee or Bosch on the sides is a little play of me :D

After much deliberation, I finally decided on my travel work toolbox. I travel to Germany and Canada, and around the USA, and my canvas carry bag just won't do it anymore. Time to upgrade to a man case.

I looked at Pelican and Nanuk; I love their tactical appearance and near indestructible design. I also looked at B&W and Parat, as they make really nice "technicians" cases. What I love about these is that they have tool pallets built in.

Parat looks near impossible for me to get unless I make another trip to Germany. I wasn't satisfied with the feel of the B&W (German engineered, made in China tho). I wasn't able to physically get my paws on a Nanuk, but I do not like their limited warrantee and lack of accessories.

So I went with the Pelican 1560. Anyone have any personal experience with these or any thoughts or criticisms please share!

Apologies for the clutter. My Milwaukee 18v hammer drill/driver, impact wrench, and two batteries and charger are neatly tucked into the foam underneath the pile of tools. I'm not happy with this of course because OCD, so. I am hunting for tool pallet options. Might have to make my own if I can't find any.

I have the husky one too. Really good for the price!
Especially for your specialty stuff. Or a great road box!
The only thing is I wish the drawers has a lock bar or some kind of locking system....

^^I really like the lil box! Nice work with it. Where did you pick it up? I also like the use of the pouches...I need to copy that.

Here is a union I just picked up and got set up

These are all the quality(v series, snapon, williams) mechanics tools I have and a few of my files, pipe wrenches and allen wrenches.
Once I find a nice set of combination wrenches I'll take out some of the top stuff.

I want to divide the screwdriver drawer in 2 because I don't need that many screwdrivers, any ideas on making dividers?

Take a look at the wife's silverware drawer. They sell little open boxes that fit in there. ...or if you are cheap (like me) get an old plastic oil bottle and cut it sideways to make a rectangular box. Plastic anti-freeze bottles work as well. Don't forget that you can hot glue them to the drawer to keep them from moving. ...and the hot glue cleans up fairly easily.

A thin piece of aluminum, plastic or even steel angle and some double sided tape.

I tried digging but couldn't find the pic. But I remember seeing something like 1/8" aluminium plate, bent at 90 degree angles in such a way that when placed into the tool tray, it wouldn't slide around or move, and didn't need tape because it was as long and as wide as the tool tray itself.

Dammit, who's box was that?

I just thought of something that might work. If I cut a long piece of aluminum down the center on each end, then bent each flap in either direction it would form an "I" shape that wouldn't slide around.

As I typed that I realized it wouldn't sit flat, but if I could weld an I shape it would work.

Finally decided to have a few brews and put some stickers on the inside. All **** I'm a huge fan or supporter of (hint, hint... all worth checking out :D)

I've been hoarding stickers from tool companies, breweries, auto parts and good bands for years now...
