Lols. Is there a specific car build place in here ? I have a bit of info in my shed thread. Point me in the direction of where better to put info ? :D

It really isn't very exciting. It's incredibly slow build but it's fun.

Don't see what I couldn't. I have migged plenty of car panel sheets and they are .9mm

So you welded a .9mm panel with a continuous weld bead? How long was this bead 1mm?

Pulsing to produce a look such as tig is demonstrably weaker. It is pure and simple poor form.

Who said I did it to make it look like TIG? I did it to get the job done, and as you can see by heat signature in my pics, I have good penetration.

I've welded roll cages, and of course I didn't pulse the trigger when welding 0.120" wall DOM tubing. I think I know when the pulse technique can be used and when it can't.

Made a Firewood Storage Rack for my buddies Cabin. He wanted a top that we can lay our wet gloves on to dry out after snowmobiling.

Just need to paint it.

While on a roll playing in the shop I finally got to a project I have been meaning to do for 8 years. I always wanted to add a Receiver Hitch to my Box Blade so I do not have to drop the Box Blade to move a trailer...Lasered these parts out months ago for another project (extra set) and made them work for this deal. I little sawing, machining and welding and DONE!

Here's a branding iron I made per a customer's request before Christmas, given to a relative who gives him freezer beef every year. Not sure if it was supposed to be used or a display piece, bottom is 304SS just in case :) I had never made one before, the versions I saw online had the corners & intersections relieved (gapped), somehow I think the concentrated heat there if they are connected leads to some problems.

KKroger,

Would like to see pics of that installed.

Absolutely! Me Too! LOL!

Still have to make and weld on the Baseplate and plates to bolt the floor structures in. And of course finish welding it out without turning it into a banana...

I too would like to see the application for this fine fabrication.
Best of luck keeping it straight through the weld out.

Almost done with my 3rd welding project. A dual grinder stand that will mount in a rim I have. 3/8" plate base, 2" sq 1/4" wall post, & 3" 3/16" angle top. Have a Jet 8" 1hp going on one side and a old Dunlap 6" on the other.

Hey Toolferone: From the height of that stand you must be about 8' tall. :dunno:

So the rim I'm using is aluminum (was free). I was a bit worried about it being heavy enough. So I am putting the stand in the back side of the rim. If I need more weight I can fill the rim with what ever I need. So the height should be ok. Thanks for asking.

Built two mounts for a grinder and a buffer. I use a 2" receiver on my benches for the vice mounts and other accessories. so it is simple to just build mounts like these;

the Second and third are already painted it is for a small Craftsman bench grinder. It is already painted.

The second will be the mount for the Buffer.

I was planning to do a receiver mount on my bench too, and I found Harbor Freight has these step bumper receiver mounts:

It may cut down on time to fab them if the premade ones would do what you'd like.
I bought one, but haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

Made a materials rack to hold my supply of metal. First we made three of these laid out on the table.

We ran some tubes between the earlier assemblies to create a stand alone tube rack.

Finally got around to making a removable tire carrier for my car trailer. I figured that spare wasn't much good laying on the side of the house. It's built to slide into a standard hitch reciever....easy money.

I put this together to move some stonecrete. Bought the bucket but needed to fab up a mount for my quad. Needed to backfill under the deck where soil was eroding away. It was a fun project, way better than wheel barreling 4 yards of stone uphill lol.

Nice! Don't suppose you have some build pics from as you went along do you? Where'd you get the bucket?

Its a Swisher ATV loader bucket. I know Tractor Supply sells them, but i got mine used (but never used). I just didn't like the universal mount kit they sell for them. I don't have any mid-build pics, sorry. This one engages the plow mount, the front rack, and I remove the front bumper to use its mounting bolts too. I got an old leaf spring from the junkyard and mounted it so i can spread the load out directly to the end of the A-arms. That way the springs/shocks don't bottom out.

You can also buy the version of that from HF, that is just the receiver tube, minus the step plate. Last one i bought was about ten bucks.
