Vent hood for a project I'm working on.... I needed two of these guys....

Part of it was made from some scrap j-boxes and some of the metal from a clean sheet of 16ga steel.

The welder is a Hobart Beta-Mig running 0.045 wire...

I might need to add a mounting tab yet, but they are nearly finished....

Nice job there Bimmer !! Those look very well done. Always satisfying to see the plans come together into the actual working part.

Another lay up table...doubles as a plasma cutter table too...

I have a good amount of clean up to do...but the rough out is done. Will be capped with 2x3 1/2” top...

very cool what type and size of material did you use.
.125 steel plate. Nothing special. ( hot roll) each triangle started at 36" the tip was cut off giving me a 6" panel where the tip was.

But for me this one is extra impressive, that's a hell of a project partsguy.

I thought my latest had a few feet of seam weld and clean up, but you win by a long shot

I was wondering if you added additional supports under the fire pan but either way did you have any issues with it bulging / buckling or maintaining its shape afterwards? Also are you going to coat it or let mother nature do her thing.

Here's my few feet of wire project. I'm going to pull it off for the final welds and clean up.

Cam, no offense but that bumper is really pretty.

Lmao, no doubt huh. Well it goes with the theme. Once everything is wrapped up I'll pull the heep outside and get a shot, it'll make more sense then. Well either that or criticism :lol_hitti

Thanks muggzy. Originally everything was going to get powder coated but the owner and I have changed it up to bed liner. That way if anything gets hammered too badly it'll be easy to touch up.

Here's almost everything

Looking good... going to be nice when you get it ground up and finished... on mine. I will let it rust up and on warping time will tell. I fired it up, put as large as possible very hot fire for the first time a few days ago and zero problems with warping. I think it will do well as there are a lot of angles and it turned out very rigid after all welded up. Cheers

Oh no doubt the frame will remain rock solid forever. With everything triangulated it's a strong as it gets. That's why I just wondered if the fire pan played nice. Also did you make provisions for water drainage. When I built our fire pit I cast a 1-1/4" schedule 40 galvi drain into the center. Then after I placed the fired box in forced the center down about a 1/4" then welded the transition. Btw, the pit (for lack of a better term) is a 3 course high 8" split face block with brick cap, one of those forever projects. To date she won't hold water so at least that part turned out good ;)

I like the table. My choice is a higher shelf but I like the size of the top.

I have a welding table with that second shelf...this one gets some large tool cases underneath...

They are the same height so I acn do larger layups...

Finished up a little shop signage project that had been unfinished for a while... welded up a quick light bar with some "oldy" lights... some square tube I sliced in half with the plasma cutter, dimple die, welded on a couple of brackets and then welded to my "old" tin roof structure..e09549f6bdf6614578cb6c17eef42a51.jpgcf96fd68d25923a817884b5f1eed3acb.jpg41a428868c9b9def6596dd237a94bf94.jpg222a14fc87248d0c110658bb787d77a3.jpg9aa2489523062e1b37a14996847d2447.jpg
