This is a platform bed that my wife has been asking me to build for us for about 8 years. It seems like my best customer is always the last order i have time to fill.

I'll play! Love all of the wood projects in the thread. One is a 1950's Replica of a Fender tele (black guard) other is my first attempt at a F-style mandolin.

Some very nice projects here.... Last winter I bought a wood lathe, here are a couple wine stoppers that I have made. They are nothing like the projects shown in this thread, but they are fun to make and give to family and friends as a gift along with a bottle of homemade wine. I have made some pretty cool tap handles as well (I'm a homebrewer also) but I just realized I need to start taking more pictures. This winter I hope to find the time for a bunch of projects and try my hand at a local craft fair next summer.

Here is a recent and continuing project.

Initial flattening.

SDC12781.jpg

Its going to be a specialized joinery bench with a twin screw vise as well as a smallish wagon vise for a tail vise. Using only hand tools.

Possibly a dumb question, but what do you use to "flatten"? Is this where a planer would be used?

If so, do yall have any recommendations for one?

Refinished a dinning room table.

Purchased it off craigslist for $40 like this

When I was done with it. Chairs that I got with the table were stained to match as well.
