I recently cleaned up these two to add to my other adjustable wrenches. This are my second smallest ones

Here you go, Jeff
The smallest one has no name - do not even remember how I got it.
The largest one on the right which I put on top is not completely rehabbed -it was given to me in a rusty condition, majority of rust is gone now but still need some touches (not sure if I should completely clean it or keep the remnants of green paint. No name. Made in Sweden AR12 A, 12 inch one).
The third 4" one is Craftsman (reflection makes it hard to read)
The ones between Blue Point and 4" ones are Crescent on the left and saved/restored Utica on the right)

... I am coming to a point where I need to separate my screwdrivers, adjustibles and pliers better. I have tools between one roller and two tool chest.
I hope to eventually find a tool box with more drawers so I could organize things better (or I will eventually pay somebody to restore my vintage BlackHawk Red Rover (I do not have enough skills to do it properly and it's too rare to learn on...)

Outlawmws, I will try to make a better picture of the smaller ones and will add them to the thread

I was just going through my stuff, and I thought I'd contribute to this thread. I have a ton of adjustable wrenches, but not many are anything worth taking a picture of.

BUT! I do have some cool Xcelite and Vaco wrenches. I always like the cushion grips for electronics and any other non-greasy work.

I inherited these from my grandfathers. The big Pexto was at my dad's rusting away so I started restoring it. Any tips for a coating/bluing for on the Pexto?

didnt see one of these mentioned on garage journal yet. found last weekend.

Finn Tool Co. Springfield, Ill. 8" adjustable wrench with locking mechanism. looks to be made by Utica.

Wow I really like the idea of that finn, does the lever just allow more torque to be applied to the adjuster or does it actually lock in place?

i did not try it but i imagine it would give "vise grip" tightness if you cranked on it, vs an actual mechanical lock. the lever is directly connected to the worm when pulled out. if you push it in a bit, it free wheels so you can put it in the home position next to the handle.

the utica select-O-Lock wrench patent cites this one. those have the little folding sheet metal tab that snugs up against the worm.

Nothing special and I don't use them much anymore now that I have the Knipex Pliers Wrench. I've had the Sears brand since high school, I don't think they are USA made.

What the hell when else will I get to talk about these?

from top to bottom, little baby crafstman, surprisingly bulky but comes in handy occasionally.

Lobtex W-zero, in my quest to find a crescent wrench that doesn’t **** this absolutely takes the cake, spring loaded two piece worm gear to keep position/remove play, flank drive style corner cutouts, quite comfortable and well finished.

craftsman re-flex, absolutely useless, worst POS they’ve ever released let alone continue to sell. Supposed to be “ratcheting”, WAY too much backdrag for that feature to ever kick in after the bolt is broken loose and if you use it on a bolt that takes any Significant force the jaws spread and round it. The day I see a laminated tool worth more than it’s weight in dirt I’ll be impressed.

stanley maxgrip, it is what it looks like, vise grip handle clamps it down on the bolt, eliminates the worst of the inherent problems with crescent wrenches, like it and use it a lot.

no name chinesium amazon buy, I kinda like collecting these wacky gimmick tools if you couldn’t already tell. Has a flex head and also has that “ratcheting” feature again, ironically this one works far better than the craftsman or most others I’ve used and you can turn it off by lifting that pin. Flakes a little chrome foil every time you use it, luckily it’s too thin to cut yourself with 😅

finally that crescent tools thing, most bizarre one I have but certainly has it’s niches, mainly being the gripping and turning of irregular shaped objects. Wheel on the back if the head opens and closes the jaws (though the amount of force you can put on there leaves something to be desired) and it ratchets normally, glad I have it for those odd cases it’s useful.

Some of those look like Xmas gifts. Usually when all the new **** inventions flood the market.
But the flex head is cool.

It's kind of funny that Crescent would elect to revive a design that is well over a hundred years old. That unit looks somewhat similar to early "wagon" wrenches made a century ago.

One example:

Interesting didn’t know about that one, looks functionally identical besides adding the ratchet feature, maybe could get a better grip using that thumbscrew over the tiny wheel in the crescent

^ There were all kinds of "wagon wrenches" and "carriage wrenches" that looked something like that made between about 1880 and 1920 - all of them approaching the removal and replacement of a "nut" in a somewhat different manner than how we go about it today with a wrench or socket.

The Richards "Wizard" wrench bears a slight resemblance as well. Other makers tried the "opening and closing jaw" approach (with or without grabby "teeth".)

Some of them are really quite interesting in their approach:

(* the "Boutcher" unit sold on ebay for $335.00 on Jan 11 2022 (17 bids) *)

because I know some of you are scratching your head on the Dunham model, it's operated with both hands at the same time:

(* photos ebay *)

(* I know I have more examples, but these are the only ones I've got tagged with "wagon" or "carriage".... there are MANY more. *)
