Your right don't know how I got Ace. and here is a pic of the number

Thanks bisley,
XOP-35 Bronze - I was afraid that that was what you used. I looked at that one and to my eye it just seemed too rich in color for a match. More red, and too deep. I like the base color of the Rusolium Hammered Bronze, it's lighter and moves more towards green. I think it's a better match, but Cman's Power Bronze wasn't a hammered finish, it relied on the rough castings for texture. My OCD has me stuck in a quandary, and I can't seem to get past it.

Damn you proprietary paint formulas ! :tantrum2:

Eventually I'll just say "eff it" and grab the first can I see. But until then, I keep tripping over the disassembled parts.

Keep forgetting I have this - a Craftsman propane tank from 1955.

I have been using it for a couple of jobs, it came to me full and now it's almost empty. I hate to throw it away when I'm done but I may try to save the decal. I just don't have enough space to keep things around just for decoration.

Etch on a saw my wife bought me last weekend at a junkshop. Cleaned the blade a bit and raised the etch with gun blue.

Wow, lot o nice stuff here.
Here are a few of mine.

My buddy from HS grandfather worked for Stovall Motors in Denver as a tech, he passed away some 20 years ago after being retired for at least the same. Anyway, after he passed they were selling off all of his garage stuff. Needless to say, the family ended up with everything they thought was of value. So my buddy's grandmother offered me the following no one else wanted:
Craftsman (SK made) 3/4" drive set, Circle H stamped, missing 1" (?) starts at 1 1/16" and goes to 2". Kinda weird the set did not contain a ratchet, nor does it look like there is room for one.

I offered $50 and she took it.
There were also some empty CMan socket cases that they had already thrown in the trash, so I asked if I could have them.

I re-purposed them into storage containers. The C Underline logo was painted over inside, what a shame.

Anyway, they also had this grey storage cabinet and she said I could take it and all the trash inside. After I got it home, I went through all the "trash" inside. I found a brand new Model A head gasket, and a bunch of Ford Manuals Service Manuals from the 30's to 50's and 2 Ford Performance Accessory Catalogs from 1966 & 1967. Pretty cool. I won't post those and clutter up the thread unless you guys want to see them.

All in all, not bad for $50.

Yes, I'm familiar with that. What I'm curious about is whether the single motor is mounted on a slide so that it can align with the machine being used, or is there a drive system that allows one motor to run both machines.

There is only one motor on that set-up, and I don't see a mounting bar under the frame for the motor to sit on.

I don't own any Craftsman items that are pre-2008 (the date that I arrived in Canada and started replacing the incompatible voltage power tools that there was no point bringing with me from Australia), but I have an appreciation for vintage tools and logos, and this topic inspired me to create a unique "Craftsman Heritage" item for myself.

Starting with this photo from an earlier post:

An hour or so tinkering in CorelDRAW to produce a black and white vector drawing based on the photo:

Craftsman 1950s BW70.jpg

Once the design work was done, it took just a few minutes in the LASER engraver to put the above design on an 11oz Libbey Rocks glass.

It's now part of my very unique collection of glassware.

I expect that 94 will wet himself (drooling ) when he sees this. You don't happen to have one of those in Crown Top, do you ?
Shouldn't be hard to do a "Crown Top" logo version.

Now that I have the Craftsman lettering all sorted out, anything that uses that style of letters for the CRAFTSMAN section of the logo is 90% done. All I need is a good photograph to work from.

Holy ****!!! I was joking (of course); figured it would take a few days to see the end result - not under an hour from when I posted the photo!
Once the hard work is done, it's not that difficult. Would have been quicker if I hadn't had to wait for the computer attached to the LASER to boot up, copy the file across, take and upload the photos.

Could you give a few more specifics of the process. What all can you etch that on to? That is beyond cool.

Holy smokes dude!

I realize you couldn't sell these without legal repercussions, but if you decided to have interested parties contact you and work something out, a lot of us here would be very interested in them!

I'm not sure. A quick look at the TMs and I didn't notice that they still retain the protection on those logos. Using their name/likeness deceitfully, of course, is always an issue.

I'd have to look further to be sure.

Have a look at the link in my signature, or at this topic that I've started to document the machine and the process.

Essentially, if it will burn or melt, and will fit into the 24" x 18" x 9" cavity in the LASER engraver, then I should be able to etch it.

The FAQ page on the web site in my signature has more information.

At the moment, the glasses are one-offs that have been done for my own amusement. Purely demonstration pieces to show what the LASER can do.
